holy shit, ythan done caught himself a scum

Vote: Zoidberg

i wanna see him flop around some more

other crap in my brain:
* MattP can read trollie pretty well, I remember this from Catch 22, but the prerequisite would be me trusting MattP first which I don't yet. however trollie's an idiot if he thinks Matt's sloppy enough to slip up by "oh he didn't accuse me therefore he must be scum"
*
I am a gay mason with DGB
it's nice to have DGB around in a game. it'll take at last till day two before i can get a solid read on her, though
* i feel rusty in my old age
* Pretentious has at least one weak head. this head knows which one it is and so do the rest of us--- if there's a slip-up, it's going to be ActionDan.
* it's a reck game, so either scum has daytalk or they have a role / mechanic that allows them to daytalk.
* zoidberg's posts are as contentless as the ones he's bitching about
* if Om is scum, either Trollie or SPB is his buddy.
* Nobody Special not posting is a null tell
* katsuki wanted to hydra with me for this game, i totally shoulda taken him up on it, i mean, it'd still just be me posting anyway am i right
* one of you dropped a pretty glaring multiball slip and jesus christ i've forgotten which one of you it was
* i'm going to be home all day pounding back cough syrup like it's candy because i have a really nasty cold
* oh wait, it was DGB that dropped the multiball slip, which makes it null and void
*
I am a bulletproof townie
the amount of softclaiming in this game already is really annoying
* all of this still makes me want to string Zoidberg because he overreacted when Ythan called him scum and because he just seems like he's trying to fit in too much
*EBWOP- sup vollkan

hell, if anything, quil, zoid's inexperience points more TOWARD him being scum--- newbie scum accusing Ythan of being scum just because he's scared and doesn't know what the fuck else to do

katsuki, if anything it makes it harder that Spyspy's not here since we've only been in like one game together where we were the same alignment (Revolution Mafia)

i don't even know what that means

i was in the process of typing out a reads list when i noticed there was a sudden outbreak of wrongness that could, if left untreated, have lead us to a town mislynch. once i have finished my reads list i will place a vote

don't play dumb with me, Quil, we both know you're not dumb.

you unvoted pretentious while they were in no immediate danger, which would have been fine if it weren't for the fact that it's not like you placed your vote somewhere else

i'm asking you if you voted pretentious just to be seen on the wagon, and then unvoted not because you wanted to place a vote elsewhere but because you no longer wanted to be on the wagon?

people do that as scum, actually

and fair enough about being the first person on the wagon, but then again if your vote was truly RVS then why did you get cold feet once it picked up steam? again, they weren't in immediate danger and already the wagon had started fizzling

EBWOP: seriously? i didn't say it had "just picked up steam," i said it had picked up steam in the time since you had placed your vote, and indeed, attention had already started to shift elsewhere by the time you removed your vote

you placed first vote, the wagon "picked up steam" over the next ten pages or so, but by the time you unvoted on page 13, people were already starting to look elsewhere

Quilford wrote:read differently to me, ah well

i don't really get it? like, you're saying people were already starting to look elsewhere. i am one of those people. i have explained why i unvoted.

my point remains that by the time you unvoted, your vote was harming no one. pretentious was not in danger. and typically, when a person removes their RVS vote, it's because they've decided to place a more meaningful vote. but you didn't do that--- you didn't unvote to free up your vote to place elsewhere. you just unvoted to get off the wagon.

Quilford wrote:like, you're saying i got 'cold feet'

where did you get that impression? why are you putting words into my mouth? how can someone get cold feet after the wagon has reached its peak?

i'm not putting words in your mouth, i'm interpreting your actions. kind of a prerequisite for scumhunting. it's disingenuous to paint it as anything but.

and it's perfectly reasonable to think you got "cold feet" on a fizzling wagon, perhaps you saw it as the perfect time to hop off unnoticed. maybe you're scum and he's town and you decided you wanted no part of the mislynch. maybe you're scum together and you saw your RVS vote mature into something bigger, so now you want to relieve the pressure. i haven't figured all that out yet, but i'll be damned if i'm not going to question you for it.

my point is, what harm was your vote doing on pretentious if you wanted to replace it? if you no longer supported the wagon, why didn't you explain your reason for that at the time? don't you think the town should know why you felt pretentious was town?

isn't that sorta what scum you does? :P

scum me kills off strong players, flips wagons around onto the people that suspect him, pushes wagons to collect L-1 claims, then claims early so I can later change the claim several times and eventually devolve the town into such jibbering madness that they keep me alive despite having a near-universal scum read on me because they're too busy arguing with one another

not that I don't scream at people as town, but a well-trained eye can tell when I'm doing it out of legitimate annoyance or when I'm doing it to distract the town

there's a huge, huge, HUGE fucking difference between trying to get someone lynched and expecting them to answer for something you feel is scummy. and even if i didn't feel it was incredibly scummy, so what? by engaging him about it, i drew him into posting and after he talked circles around me for a bit, I started picking up more town vibes from him.

the whole thing could have been avoided if he'd been more straightforward from the get-go, but hell, I'm willing to look past that.

I don't recall a Quilford wagon. What I do recall is me and vollkan asking him some questions until we got a satisfactory answer.

And honestly, it's annoying the piss out of me to hear people calling it anything but that.

But, you know, I'm trying to keep my rage under control so I don't threaten to imprison anyone inside of an orb at the bottom of the sea, or invoke the Holocaust or any of that other stuff that finally drove me to retire just because I felt like I was becoming entirely too mean, and sure, part of it was the fact that my wife was a cheating whore, and a little bitterness and resentment toward the fact that i had to see her every day talking to that skinny little bitch she plays world of warcraft with, but by god we're separated now and while she's still a colossal fucking thundercunt who two months ago ran my computer under the kitchen faucet, i'm really trying to not take it out on others.

so, if you want to complain about the Quilford "wagon" or "line of questioning" or what the hell ever, by all means, feel free to keep it to yourself. It is nothing more or less than what I said it was.

zoidberg, I'm gonna overlook your smartass post, but if you keep it up, you're gonna be in for a storm warning

I don't claim to be able to read fate after three fucking posts, nor should anyone with half a brain. I pride myself on being able to read DGB, btw, and I don't have a read on her because she's not fucking posting. I'm not willing to lynch her either.

My massive erection for fate? Oh, excuse me if I'm not willing to lynch a fucking null-read on day 1.

It's not scumfate either, though, and it's sure as hell not scum Nuwen.

You can keep that shit all you want, but the obvious fact is that your scum-read is manufactured and you're trying to cover it by being smarmy as fuck.

You're full of shit, Zoidberg.

I never said we weren't lynching Fate just because he's a "celebrity." And in fact, if you hand anything between your fucking ears besides CRACK ROCKS, you'd know that I've lynched Fate several times. Hell, I've even caught him out as scum. I also patiently explained to you that I was opposed to the obvious quickwagon because there's no god damn way anyone has a read on him yet.

So don't fucking give that bullshit, because you have no fucking clue what you're talking about.

Because, (and as I was about to explain to Katsuki), Katsuki can read Fate pretty fairly well. But I'm calling bullshit that Katsuki didn't invoke that fact when he tossed his vote into the wagon.

And Katsuki, don't forget I've also seen you misread Fate. (And myself when you tried to kill me in Weather Mafia II thinking I was opposite-scum but lololololol dat bodyguard vig)

okay, I read that QT in probably the most fitting place possible (while taking a shit at a nursing home)

So if the hydras are swearing that the QT is filled with damning information against Fate, why is it I feel that this is the only right call:

Unvote
Vote: One Direction

Basically I see, the QT being:

"Hey, let's massclaim!"
"Actually let's massclaim once Fate is dead!"
"Okay let's all get Fate lynched, then we can massclaim!"
"Town's not just gonna lynch Fate, let's just make some shit up."

Okay, now then, there are some GOOD players in that QT.
Faraday is NOT a shit player. Not even close.

Then why is he pushing shit ideas in the QT?
Faraday's posts in that QT show an incredibly anti-town attitude.

And honestly, I'm pretty pissed off that the Hydra Neighborhood thought they could pull a fast one on us by thinking they could make shit up just to get someone lynched.

even if this is true (It's not? The only thing that's borderline is the faking info? Massclaim is completely pro town and underutilised. Specific massclaim worked out great in strategy I thought) why does that make us scum?

Mostly, why would you trust the other people in the hydra QT? Either you already know their alignment, or you're just absolutely free with letting everyone know your role. Even further, you're expecting them to be comfortable telling you theirs.

Town mindset shoulda been, "What? No, I can't massclaim here, I don't know these fucking people!"

Now, Faraday, we both know you don't suck. So why did you trust the people in the QT enough to want a massclaim? And if you say it's because you had town reads on them, I'm going to piss myself laughing because there's no god damn way anyone can be THAT confident in their read of a 10-faced shitstorm.

One Direction wrote:http://forum.mafiascum.net/viewtopic.ph ... 9#p4540869 Kuribo thoughts on this post? Also do you have a read on DGB? I thought my case kinda owned but no one's really commented on it.

I dunno, my gut still tells me Zoid is scum. But while his rage toward me almost felt genuine enough to be town, that post seems to harken back to my initial assessment that Zoidberg is kinda "me too'ing" his way through the game.

DGB, I've leaned town on, but you gotta remember how hard she is to read Day 1. And the last few times I've played with her, either she was scum (Weather Mafia II), scum with me (Gay Mafia 1), Town against scum-me, (Red Dead Redemption Mafia) or I replaced her as scum (Rolling in the Deep). And the one time she was scum and I was town, I thought she was town clear up until LYLO when she practically gave up and eventually contradicted herself by calling me scum just a few pages after calling me town.

So, my read on DGB is basically that if she's scum, she's not gonna fuck up until at least the second day. And for the record, I tend to see Fate the same way. Fate as scum is way easier to catch after the first day.

A few more thoughts but I won't be around much because I have a date tonight:

* Katsuki is probably town, which flies in the face of my usual theory that he lurks like a motherfucker as town and only posts as scum. Hear me out--- He never freaking buddies me as scum. He even buddied me a bit in the hydra QT, figuring I'd never see it. However, I believe Kats is confident enough in his Fate-read that he thinks Fate is scum.

* At least one or two scum lies among the lurkmass and is eagerly watching the town tear itself apart. Every scumteam has at least one kdowns.

* I don't know if Fate / Nuwen scum would have posted that QT if they felt the evidence in it was incriminating.

* Om is probably town, too. His frequent spammy posting just reeks of the kinda unfettered freedom that comes with not having a scum PM.

I have a handful of other thoughts, but they're staying with me for now.

See, now that's two multiball slips for you DGB.

The first one I just chalked up to your usual large theme paranoia, but now a second one?

Why are you assuming two scumteams?

Its a slip when there hasn't been any nightkills yet. The town has no idea how many scum there are, but a smallish scumteam could figure that out based on the size of their own team.

Further:

1) lots of large themes aren't multiball
2) Gay Mafia itself wasn't
3) you always think NS is third party
4) whut

Hey Faraday, you know that solid scumtell I keep mentioning on DGB?

Its third party hunting. She did it in the two games you mentioned and also the first gay Mafia.

The difference here, and the only thing staying my hand, is that she hasn't tried to get either.of her third party suspects lynched.

That's my line of thinking right now, and the reason I didn't vote her. As I said before, the SK-hunting tell was a little iffy when I posted about it, because even though she seems to have pegged who she thinks are the third parties... she hasn't really "gone after" them.

In Gay Mafia, she hounded NS relentlessly.

I disagree that you're third party, though I do believe when you say you can only hammer.

Based on the last two pages I've skimmed, this thing is as useless to this town as pussy in a gay dick factory. Scum at worst, idiot town at best.

I don't like how the Zoidberg wagon tried to resurge--- hell, even I'm not convinced Zoid is scum at this point. One Direction, ehhhhhhhhh, fuck my life, man, that hydra QT had me so sure, but here's the pisser--- the rest of his play is coming across as Faraday town. I'm actually having a hard time getting anything out of that Hydra QT besides a clusterfuck that baffles my reads.

For DGB to complain about spamming while spamming herself is pretty much town-DGB. She did the same in Red Dead Redemption. Well, I mean, it may not be a town-tell, but it's definitely just a DGB-tell.

I'd bet the hair of my cheating whore of a soon to be ex-wife that there's still scum in the lurkmass. I feel like I'm missing something, though. I don't know.

much as it pains me to admit it because fuck that guy too, but Zoid is town based on ThunderHog's hate for him. I'm not thinking this guy is smart enough to bus Zoid, and I was already starting to lean town on Zoid anyway based on our interactions

the only question is.... was Thunder trying to take pressure off someone (DGB? OD? P-hydra? I don't really remember who was the leading wagon when he re-voted Zoid) by redirecting it onto Zoid? It's pretty obvious he was annoyed that the Zoid wagon fizzled.

I need to go back and read Thunder's ISO in context before I decide on that.

DGB, I said it in the Dead QT--- you made the right call by killing me off early. :)

As someone who also adheres to the mindset of "flail so wildly at endgame that town just gets trolled into doing your bidding," I would have been all over that bit of yours about the mod confirmation being the work of scum. No mod would ever allow a scum messenger role to confirm himself to a living player.

That was so insane that it was brilliant, because it shouldn't have worked.

dram

the fact that DGB posted these and didn't get lynched:

DrippingGoofball wrote:
zoraster wrote:Zoraster, who was confirmed town by Om, who has flipped town

I may be paranoid but there are a lot of iffy things about this "confirmation" that smells of scum shenanigans, including:

(1) this happened day 2, not day 1. Reasons are dodgy.
(2) this happened after the JOAT-traitor was presumably recruited.
(3) Om, who was no threat to anyone, was promptly killed off the next night to seal the deal.
(4) your surprise that YOU were confirmed rather than some other random player sounds really contrived.

I believe that the scumteam is uber powerful and that you may be the weak link.

SO CLAIM NOW

DrippingGoofball wrote:
zoraster wrote:Om nom got a RESULT PM, he didn't get a "message PM" or whatever it was the JOAT sent. I assume there is a pretty big difference and that Om knows the difference.

You claimed to have gotten a joat message before, right? What did it look like?

I won't speculate on whether Om would know the difference. He might not. Your assumption that there would be a BIG difference is just an assumption.

If you want to speculate, maybe the JOAT could fake-confirm another player in his arsenal, and that was the most valuable power he had, and used it on Night 2, after you recruted him..

I mean... you LYNCHED CONFIRMED TOWN UNDER THE ASSUMPTION THAT A COMPETENT MOD WOULD ALLOW SCUM TO MOD-CONFIRM THEMSELVES TO A LIVING PLAYER

I wish Spyspy was here so he could yell at you, too.

since we're talking about Fate

It annoyed the unending dog piss out of my mancock that Zoidberg thought I wouldn't lynch Fate as part of some "fan club" or whatever

Sure, he was scum, but the point I was making was that ScumFate is usually harder to pick off on Day 1. I myself rarely have a read on the guy first day. And he's pretty much never going to be the Day 1 lynch, regardless of his alignment. I've pushed wagon on scumfate before. I've called his bluff during gambits. But none of this ever happened the first day.

I'd say the same about DGB, some players are extremely hard to lynch. And players that don't lynch easily generally don't get lynched on Day 1.

It isn't that it's too hard to try, it's more that I generally don't have a solid read on Fate Day 1

of course, I've freely admitted that I'm at my weakest on my first day of play. even when I replace into games, the first day that I join the game is the time when I have the hardest time developing my reads

be such a douche that my own godfather replaced out
air all of my personal business on the site
bus every single one of my scumbuddies into oblivion
lie relentlessly to some of my favorite posters
get deus-ex-machima in the form of an unexpected doc protect
burn my town meta to the ground so violently that I now have a hard time convincing people I'm town
get obviously town players lynched as they one by one began to suspect me
face the creeping realization that i will never have that much fun as scum again :(

although I admit that setting up the endgame scenario in which Toogs voted himself figuring the game was auto-win... that was pretty fun
