Rules & Information

Voting, Deadlines, Activity, & Replacements

Votes must be
bolded
or in VOTE: tags to count. Unvotes are not required. Any sort of abbreviation is fine as long as I can tell who you are voting.

Games will have 5 day deadlines. If deadline passes with a no lynch, game will count as a draw, earning zero points for everyone. Deadlines can be extended if there are activity issues.

You are expected to post at least once every 36 hours. If prodded, you have 24 hours to respond before I start looking for a replacement. 3 prods before I force replace.

If you need to go on V/LA, let me know ahead of time so I can reschedule your game when possible. A temporary replacement can fill in for your game if needed. Temporary replacements must be found on your own.

Tournament Mechanics

This is a Round Robin tournament where every player will play everyone once. This will take four rounds to complete. Each round will have 3 games.

Players will be grouped at random for Round 1. Afterwards players with similar records will be grouped when possible.

Alignments for each game will be determined randomly.

A quick topic will be set up for players who are not currently playing. A new QT will be created between games. Do not give the link to the QT to those who are currently playing.

No posting in thread when someone else's game is currently running, in between games after a flip is fine.

Other

General site rules apply.

Do not quote PMs from the mod. Do not write in small or invisible text. Do not discuss this game in any way outside of the thread or private QT. Do not edit posts.

Play to your win condition.

Rules are subject to change.

Game 1

Hey Voided and Jason, just woke up, excited for this game.
I mentioned it in my first game, but I think it bears repeating here;
LyLo is my favorite game-state, and what I see as ideal. There's real stakes for everyone involved.
With that said,
let's begin!

I think this will be different cause you can't RVS (like in Vengeful) so lots of likelihood to fuck up....

FOS:Varsoon and Voided

Anyway.... i'm not actually sure how to start this

Also LYLO is good but it's better with the buildup from previous days

It might just be me but shouldn't you do the round robin as like a proper round robin and not like this?

This will just end up with the "leading" players versusing each other and the "losing" players versusing each other and not much change.

No matter what, in a 3-man game like this, FOS of both the other players is pretty much the only initial option. I didn't put a vote down in my first post (like most RVS) because if I was wrong then scum would hammer and game would be over.
I guess all we can do right now is wait for Voided to post.

JasonWazza wrote:Also LYLO is good but it's better with the buildup from previous days

Well, yes, definitely, but I like being in LyLo more than anything else. Scum has to play smart and town can't mess around either. Both alignments have to do their best or they lose.

No its fine because playing with someone you haven't played with before takes precedence over records (ie. you're never going to play with the same person twice)

Varsoon wrote:LyLo is my favorite game-state, and what I see as ideal. There's real stakes for everyone involved.

Even so, do you like jumping into it without any information previously?

To me, entering LyLo with barely any information at all is like treading on a landmine--not the an experience I enjoy. LyLo gets it's suspense and enjoyment when there's information beforehand to help solve the puzzle, imo.

(AKA I wanna be in group 2 or 3 :<)

JasonWazza wrote:Anyway.... i'm not actually sure how to start this

What you did here is good enogh, really. It's kinda like a regular game (even a 5p Venge), only you can't vote as willy-nilly.

Varsoon wrote:I didn't put a vote down in my first post (like most RVS) because if I was wrong then scum would hammer and game would be over.

Smart thinking.

Anx: So, if the town win for Group 1, do both town members move on to group 2 or are they set aside for the time being as the other groups have their turn, and then the survivors have one final match in Round 4?

There are no eliminations, all players are set aside. Game 1 goes and then 2 followed by 3; then players are shuffled around for the next round, being grouped base on records and who they haven't played. Then it repeats with a different set of 3 games until everyone has played against everyone.

and i forgot to set deadline

Yeah, it seems that way. Prove to me that you're town.

Yeah, it certainly is better with more info, but I think that this fast-paced game (with a close deadline, etc) will force us to post substantially and quick and be smart about it.

At this point I'm getting townish reads from both of you, but there's a few points where I'm not so sure.
Voided saying that's smart thinking seems a bit off,
and Jason seems to almost be playing it too safe.
I don't know, maybe I'm overthinking this too much this early.

What the fuck do you honestly expect me to say to this?

Seriously this line of questioning is retarded, "are you town?"

That's a pretty harsh reaction, but it does do a good job of showing how town you are.

Sorry, just trying to get the ball rolling. We don't have time to sit around and do nothing.

Also-also, I think it's really important that we figure out who the other town is. I think that either confirming someone town or scum will help immensely since there are only 3 players.

Fact is asking if someone is town gets us no where (granted i can't think of a way to get somewhere decent), simple fact is my reaction would be the same regardless of alignment.

Fair enough.
Honestly, I think the only thing we can do at this point is reaction testing.

Actually no i don't think town would have this thought on the simple basis that a confirmed scum means a confirmed townie and vice/versa

i think you just slipped and slipped bad

Why wouldn't town think that? I figure that town-hunting is just as important as scum hunting if there's only three people.

Oh, I was basically saying what you said in post 18. Confirming a scum means a confirmed town and confirming a town means a confirmed scum. Ergo, either confirming someone as town or scum will help immensely.

Oh right, now i get you, it read like scum sitting there forgeting that confirming someone town means confirming the scum

Makes sense.
Still, I don't want the time issue to make us over-rush things. We should be really sure about who we lynch. I'd rather not risk a mislynch on something that isn't substantial, or a fluke.

That said, I wish Voided could come in and make some comments. It hasn't been that long since his last post, but I feel like it's better to have a lot of posts and interactions to look at and garner reads from rather than just a few.

Why was the bolded even needed? >.>

And yeah interactions are good but it's hard to interact much in a way that is going to help
