Because I'm used to having to deal with people flaking and causing no lynches, as my local meta game recently adapted this procedure. Also, maybe I'm mistaken, but i seem to recall seeing some games here that used the majority lynch rule. I guess it just wasn't worded clearly enough for ya.

To be fair to this site's ruleset the pokemon sites usually are 16+ player games, not these 9man ones. (And also closed, not open or semi open)

The common setups there are 16p (4wolf/12town) and 20p (5wolf/15town)

Then again, the newbie deadlines here are a lot longer, too. We usually do 7day/2day day/night cycles.

So it's more of an adaptation thing, really. If my theory sounds a bit off, feel free to correct me, because it's been developed with those kinds of things in mind.

Yes. I've had newbscum do this in several games before. When a new player speaks about teams and acts like they have knowledge that the other person is on a different team, I find it a scum slip. It's just something that's worked for me in the past. Its a lot better pressuring him for a read than staying in RVS.

The issue is, Piolo totally shut down all communication. That tells me we're seeing serious panic. Town players usually just respond with emotion and pretty much immediately. Piolo seems to be sitting down thinking "oh shit what do i do now"

C, why is tunneling scummy, what is the scum motivation behind doing such an action?

Tunneling in and of itself is not inherently scummy. I've seen it happen plenty of times before with a town player being the tunneler. However, scum can tunnel as a way to direct focus. For example, let's say we have a 5/15 wolf/town setup. Day one, two wolves tunnel two different players. With a majority of the discussion focused upon these two targets who may have made silly mistakes, all scum hunting discussion is redirected onto these two chosen targets. My team used it to great effect in pokegym game XVII-C http://pokegym.net/forums/showthread.php?t=168615, winning a flawless (as in all wolves survived to endgame and we won) victory. Having said that, I don't feel it's THAT strong of a tell even when observed, unless it's the same people over multiple days.

Well, since obviously as Mrs. M said my number one choice isn't going anywhere, and given the amount of time left, it's gonna be Klazam or Jebus.... The thing about jebus that worries me is we've had a promise to deliver a case against laz, and said case is.... nowhere to be found so close to deadline. I honestly wonder if it does not exist. It's not like this changed between pages. Klazam was acting like scum, flat out gave up. That's not something town does, so you insisting on the town read of him suggests you knew full well that he'd flip townie even though everything indicated he was scum.

To be honest our day two plan was gonna be to have JMO rail on Esquire while I fished elsewhere, but then town turned on you and I couldn't resist.

Oh wait, it's Neighbors, not masons... Masons would have swung the set-up to a town sided one. 5 scum in a 20p game is pretty good, and the fact that scum only had one PR while Town had several made the set-up more

C, you did play a pretty perfect scum game IMO. you were aggressive, and took control of town really early on which is a really good thing to be able to do as scum and you were able to shut down those who had any suspicions on you fairly easily. I do think that keeping me alive was a mistake, in that the ones you guys chose to kill weren't low threat kills. Towards the end of the second day, and at the beginning of the third you did a bit of WIFOMY action that should have alarmed me but, again, you masked it quite well. You had a whole lot of trust in me, but it was justified well enough for me to not be suspicious of it

Main reasons you didn't die were:
A: You trusted me, I trusted you to keep it that way
B: We weren't sure if there was a doc or not, and the town-read IC is always a popular doc choice.

Also, if you guys plan on playing a lot and are newbie slots. Keep a meta binder document. Record after a game is over how a player played, and what their role was. It helps you in future games to gauge their current play.

Dunno if you read the game I linked to as my prior scum play offsite, shadi, but I love playing a very aggressive scum game. It allows me to "read the reads" and get an idea of who will read me how.

It doesn't work quite as well here, but on my home site, the metagame has the alphas and stronger wolves prefer to lurk. Being super hyper active throws everyone's reads off. So does twisting emotions and getting seen as a town leader.
