This isn't a catchup post, I just wanted to point this out
This is just a very bad "case" Town should definitely keep track of the vote counts. If you are town, and someone votes you, that doesnt mean they are scum and attacking someone because they voted for you (OMGUS) is generaly considered a scum tell. Also, don't put alot of stock in Freduian slips in a text based game. [/teaching]In post 114, talah wrote:
Mala, Mala, Mala. Thanks for being welcoming, but I think this is Freudian, despite (or perhaps because of) needing sleep, and your explanation doesn't make sense:
You've also placed the Finger of Suspicion (by stating as scum-read), on Luigi (now me).In post 110, Malakittens wrote:You already asked me this. I'm not, butI don't want you to flip scumlooking for an easy target.
Lastly, you've been LynchCounting:
I don't know that Town would bother - it feels a bit wrong to me either way.In post 87, Malakittens wrote:In post 83, mothrax wrote:Plus Luigi's vote puts Thane at L-2 and as I said it looks like an opportunist jump.

PS. Preview's working now; must have been technical difficulties.
By bad, I mean playstyle wise, not scummy, as alot of what talah has bee doing has struck me as newb-town-who-has-no-idea-what-they-are-doing.
So a quick skim through the thread has left me with some basic town reads:
Town: Mala, Honeybee and Talah
So now I'm gonna iso a few people, and then iso some more people later.- Hyperion

I see very little in Gen Wolf's posts that would help us catch scum. Its alot of "I agree" or "I disagree" on matters of gameplay that are more about mafia theory than the game at hand. Theres just not alot of substance. Also, he replaced THane, who was on the sidelines, and didnt do anything. I'm leaning scum, but would like to hear alot more from Gen Wolf since he just replaced in.- Hyperion

Isoing Honeybee and Talah give me the same feels as my original read through did. Honeybee puts alot of pressure and analyzes into each and every one of her posts. Talah on the other hand, clearly has no idea what he is doing, and looking at the way he is posting, I find it very hard for him to be scum because if he was I feel like he would be making more of an effort to scumhunt instead of posting plays. He is town, but is a liability do to his lack of knowledge/skill. I am 90% sure that both are town.
Will do more later.- Hyperion

Mothrax is town. He is very straightforward and focuses on catching scum do to facts based on this game (such as when he said to drop JMO's odd "no townreads playstyle" since it doesnt help us catch scum, and I think scum would have been more likely to latch onto and make a big deal of something like that.). Shows alot of analysis in his posts. So yeah...- Hyperion

So Greywing starts out by attacking Mala for pressuring Luigi, simultaneously white knighting Luigi. Then once public opinion shifts, he hops on Luigi. However, I do like alot of his analysis, so I'm going to put him in the middle of the pack for now with a slight scum read.
oo a preview edit. I will get right on that.- Hyperion

Lright so to answer Talah's question about where Mala is pressuring others:
She asks Luigi to explain why replacing others is suspicious when Luigi voted Grey because he was a replacement. In post 15, Malakittens wrote:"...."
How is replacing someone suspicious? The original person never picked/confirmed their role PM. I really doubt that's shows any relevance to alignment.
Again, she is asking people about there votes, which puts the pressure on them to answer, because when they answer she can dissect the answer in order to get a town/scum read on that person.
Self explanatory, she forces Thane to get into the game. We cant cathc scum if people just sit on the sidelines and watchIn post 65, Malakittens wrote:ThaneArvan,
You are still side-lining though. You haven't placed a vote. Do you have any scum-suspects worthy enough for a vote?
The bolded part. She dissects the context around Tybalt's vote and attacks him because the context shows the vote doesnt make sense. In post 79, Malakittens wrote:I asked you a question, but no I never answered it.
Thane's first post was #10..
You voted him in #55..
He didn't provide anything.. Anything to be neutral.. You're basically voting a lurker who's not really being considered a lurker.
Now if second post came before your #55 then you might have a chance with that argument, but right now you're grasping at straws.
Sorry Tybalt, but I don't like your latest post. You seem to be tryin to find your footing, but it's really weak and really giving me a bad vibe. I can see new scum going for the lets vote a lurker card to try to avoid attention and look like they are helping.
VOTE: Tybalt
She is again asking questions and pressuring others to add information into the game.In post 156, Malakittens wrote:
mothrax, talah is an easy target. So you've got Grey and you've got me down as suspicious. At least one of these is wrong. Who else is suspicious? Why should I trust you?Why are you calling yourself an easy target?
Policy lynches don't ever benefit anyone. Now you're going after an easy target.
Please give me 5 reasons why we shouldn't lynch you.
Oh jmo.. He didn't specificity which ongoing game. That's not modkillable. You're just trying to scare him off from pokin you, imo.
She is calling out JMO on his tunneling and applying pressure onto him (but continuing the point) when she doesnt believe he gave a satisfactory answer. Also she asks him to provide basis on the italicsIn post 203, Malakittens wrote:Youaretunneling. Who else do you think is scum?
Also please point to me where asking about a VC is a scum-tell. KGO.
(ps my smiley has a link - you all should click it)
So Talah, those are some of the instances of where I believe Mala has applied pressure throughout the game. She questions people and she pursues and works off of those questions- Hyperion

Responding to Mothrax.
Looking back, I saw very little defense of JMO by GW. The big one is this.
He claims it was a gambit and attacks Mothrax, then he says he doesnt think JMO is scum (no explanation) and says the wagon is scum driven. In post 301, Greywing wrote:I agree with Jmo. Scum caught.
VOTE: Mothrax
I don't believe Jmo's scum. This is a scum-driven wagon and Mothrax fell for Jmo's bait (the vote on Mala.) Mothrax's vote was so blatantly opportunistic.
I'd wager that the other scum is on this wagon too and pushing it heavily: one of Talah/GenWolf.
The majority of his defense is actuallt attacking MOthrax
This is an older post of Grey's, he thinks JMO could be scum. THen he leaves and comes back like 4 ish pages later defending him.In post 206, Greywing wrote:I already gave my reads, but ok, I'll bite.
I don't know. Could potentially be scum, but he's not among my bigger scumreads.
Defense=Bad.
Possibly scum buddies. Possibly SCum GW setting up a MOthrax lynch if JMO flips town. Possilby Grey is town and he is just defending the wrong person.- Hyperion

So before I move on:
JMO was putting words in my mouth saying my case on him was because he was a bad IC. My read was based on the fact that he was tunneling on one person, and had no other defined reads, thats why it saysIn post 270, Hyperion wrote:Tunneling, no other defined reads outside of his one of Thane (now Gen?). In general this is bad, but for an IC, you are really teaching these newbies nothing. Leaning scumin general this is bad. The IC comment is an add on.- Hyperion

answering questions first
post 96 and 147 are the ones that I liked, they both show alot of analyses. However, I still don't like his switch earlier in the game from luigitown and malascum to the other way around It felt rather oppurtunistic, and thats why I still had a slight null/scum read on him.In post 423, talah wrote:O Baby Jaymo, you must be so sweeeeepy!
Go and take your nap, I'll be there soon to read you a story (and it will have YOU in it!)
@Hyper, you gave me a breakdown of Mala earlier when I asked; when you get a moment could you please point out in much the same way why you thought Grey's analysis was good? (Maybe paraphrasing that, gotta get to work). I'd like to have a rational discussion about it.
Honestly, I am very bad at night kill analyses, and I think it should be reviewed on a case by case basisIn post 498, talah wrote: To that effect,Hyperion, will you help me out and clarify whether HB's killing is WIFOM; would we be looking for people who HB suspected, or people who HBdidn't suspectdo you think?- Hyperion

Question: Are you going to do anything with the answers to these questions? If not why did you ask them?In post 436, jmo16mla wrote:Mala, your opinion on talah?
Gen, your opinion on talah?
Talah, your opinion on gen?
Random thought I have been thinking: Getting some whiteknight vibes from grey in regards to jmo. Which could mean jmo is town and grey is scum. I'm not sold on it just yet, but will keep it in mind going forward. will do night kill analyses later.- Hyperion

My thoughts/comments are in bold. Also Gen's hop onto the GIF wagon was pathetically opurtunistic. In post 517, Greywing wrote:
"Guys, guys, look how cooperative I am! Ignore the fact that my predecessor dropped scum-tells, I've jumped on every available wagon in order to push a lynch, and have continuously posted fluff in order to look active...I'm willing to do anything for you guys, I *must* be Town!"In post 514, talah wrote:Sure you can ask me anything.
VOTE: Talah
Is this the most important reason for you voting him? You don't even mention anything prior to this being scummy, but then this six word statement garners a vote on day 2. Bad vote
Explain to me what I misread. In post 514, talah wrote:While I'm answering questions, I might as well throw in:
Grey this is ridiculous. Why didn't you drop back in and say oops when you re-read it and realised (probably moments after posting it) that you've misread the sentence? Seems like you have time to drop in whenever you want to make a demand or place some allusion on someone's intent but absolutely no time to answer the questions given to you. This is pretty much the same complaint I had of jmo to start with, but I have to re-read jmo in light of heavy tunnelling. If you're doing the same thing to me, and ignoring my own questions, from experience it can be a slippery slope. In post 508, Greywing wrote:
Care to quote where I said this?In post 502, Gen_Wolf wrote: (...)
You say mothrax would have been blameless for a no lynchbut I also see no way we can blame him in this situation as he was not on the wagon?
As well, I have no time to answer questions fromscum reads.I've been perfectly happy answering questions from Honey, Jmo and Mala since I trust them.
But answering questions allows for more information out into the town, helping to focus your thoughts and helping us catch scum. Besides just because they are your scum reads does not mean they can't possibly be town. This is a cop out to keep from answering questions.
I'll answer the first question for you, since you clearly have some problems putting information together. In post 514, talah wrote:So this:
Why did you ask this? How does it help town?In post 396, Greywing wrote: @Jmo: Before someone hammers you, do you see Talah as the most likely partner for Mothrax then?
...And other recent questions from Gen, and previous questions, go completely unanswered. (I give you credit for your most recent post which is actually a direct answer.) But seriously, we need to scumhunt, which means if you're town you need to be open to answering all kinds of questions, not just the ones that suit you. You had that attitude early on yourself pestering Tybalt (or Thane?) for the answer to a question. Y U NO answer questions?
I assumed Jmo was soon to be dead due to the wagon forming, and the reads of the playerlist regarding him. I wanted his opinion before he died. I fail to grasp why this was so tough to understand.
Gen or Grey wagons both have my stamp of approval.
