Hi guys, I agree that pitoli was scummy, but my role PM said I'm town, so :/

Actually I wouldn't be that opposed to my lynch because it would give lots of info

I believe mnemonic's doc claim because newbs and PR's tend to be quite scummy. There's nothing condemning enough that he's said to make me want to lynch him.

Toomai and 2birds are scumbuddies. Discuss.

Like that mnemonic is probably town and toomai is likely scum.

A lot of the case on mnemonic being scum is that I am his scum buddy; the rest of it can be explained by him being a newb and/or a PR.

I'll wait for others to weigh in on the toomai/2birds thing before explaining.

Hmm...this is interesting. Toomai guessed part of the reason I though he was scum with 2birds. The other reason I had them as scumbuddies makes it so that 2birds' actions don't really make sense with 2birds-scum toomai-town. This probably means they're both town, but I still get scumvibes from toomai...

I'll do some iso's before deciding whether to move my vote.

(btw, I'll wait for people to guess the other reason, though I doubt they will)

I iso'd 2birds; he gives me scumvibes too lol. Keeping my vote where it is for now.

@Niccage What I thought would happen was that you guys would lynch my slot so that you wouldn't have to lynch the doc claim unless I flipped scum; in this case it would make sense for you guys not to lynch mnemonic if I flip town. Also personally I thought pitoli was scummier, but maybe that's just me.

Zhero is another possible scum due to low content but trying to look like he's scumhunting.

The daytalk slip was probably because he didn't know better and didn't pay much attention to it in his first game. Ftr, I don't think that mnemonic believes that he should blend in, more like he's trying too hard not to get lynched and therefore he looks scummy.

Which on second thought is basically what you said.

By the way here's a really scummy post by daemon I apparently didn't notice before

I voted mnemonic before Haschel did, if that's what you mean. I guess my 'RQS is potential scumtell' post got lost to the void, but I'm not sure how I'm sheeping here.
Eh I still feel it is a fair judgement of my opinion. But don't worry yet like I said it is only suspicion for now. I haven't voted you yet.

^^ Yes, that's my point, that's why I have townread on mnemonic. The early claim and general play can be explained by noobishness.

My townread on mnemonic is due to not finding anything inexplicably scummy about him

PEdit: I do have an indepedent scumread on toomai that I was waiting to explain (that was part of the "other reason")

I can explain it now if you want

Case on toomai

I like how 2birds calls out toomai for posting pre-crash votes that weren't that useful. What I don't like about it is that he stops there. Toomai goes on later to vote MonkeyMan with shaky reasoning, and his 189 is really opportunistic and really waffly. And I thought I saw fakeposting somewhere? Rereading his iso makes me think he's town, actually.

And I didn't read 196 carefully enough. 2birds admtted that he overstated his early reads and thought toomai's wagon jump wasn't scum, so I don't think he's toomai's scumbuddy anymore

In conclusion, I can't read.

But I still think 2birds is scum.

By this logic, no-one's ever null.
That's not what I'm saying. Null means you have some scummy things about you, but not enough to make you scum.
In post 235, Zhero wrote:Reread the thread, and can still definitely see a mnem/pit team. Contrary to my last post, I'm okay with either lynch.

Big scumpoints here.

This also flags me. Basically waiting for someone to make a case for him, and when Toomai obliges, switches gears from a Toomai vote to a 2birds vote accordingly.

Also as mentioned above, he seems to be casting a wide net, without really getting into many details.

It's called giving people townpoints for guessing my reasoning.
In post 234, Toomai wrote:228's "not scummy = town" and 231's "here's the case on Toomai, he's probably actually town" together are pretty bad.
Let me explain this better. At first I thught you were scum due to the two things I mentioned in addition to your posting being fake, which is why I was surprised 2birds didn't call you out on those things. When I was trying to find examples a faked posting, your posts seemed more towny to me. In addition, I saw the 2birds was overstating his early scumread on you so he may not have been able to notice future scummy things about you.

No. Believe it or not, null means null. This can cover a variety of circumstances, including "not having posted enough to be readable", and more relevantly "not posted anything which gives away their alignment".

I suppose you could proceed under an "innocent until proven guilty" mentality, but that would presumably be a binary system in which everyone is town until they're sufficiently scummy to be lynch-worthy; there still wouldn't be a 'null' in this.

To call one person null because they've dropped tells both ways, but another person town because they've dropped no tells is horribly inconsistent. I initially assumed this was just you being scum, except you charge forward with such conviction that I can only really attribute this to you being new.
Null can mean different things for me. In this circumstance, I believe mnemonic would have done many more scummy things or things that were more scummy if he were scum; that is why I have a townread on him.
It's called giving people townpoints for guessing my reasoning.
How. The. Fuck. Does. Guessing. Reasoning. Make. Someone. Town.? Scum. Can. Think. From. Town. Perspective. Too.. Good. Scum. Will..
If they guess the exact same reasoning I was having, that makes them more likely to be town.
In addition, I saw the 2birds was overstating his early scumread on you so he may not have been able to notice future scummy things about you.
I don't think you understand the purpose of over-stating the strength of a read early-game. It's a way of kick-starting a game in that awkward RVS stage when there's nothing to go on.
I get that; I just think that if you had had as strong of a scumread on toomai as you seemed to have I think you would've called out toomai for the hypothetical fakeposting that I seemed to see at first and the other two things I mentioned.
Your backtracking is still bad enough to be vote-worthy, but it's clear that some of what I've been voting you for is newb-motivated rather than scum-motivated.
I'm kind of new? Sort of? This is my 6th game. The "backtracking" was just me randomly changing my read on toomai for some reason.

Can you explain to us weird vibes, my likely hood of being scummier then Zhero, as well as how what I said looks scummy?
I can't really explain the vibes thing. I got stronger vibes from you. What you said was scummy because it looked too much like trying to appease zhero in addition to being really waffly. Actually, even though I read you both as scum, that doesn't look like you're scumbuddies. I would say that probably one of you is scum (yay setting up mislynches!)

Looking at votes, that seems like a hammer by zhero. He should know better than not to check how many votes someone is at before voting; lynch him next.

I actually agree I was sort of scummy at that point until I explained myself better and it makes sense for mnemonic to jump on my wagon at that point. I do agree that mnemonic should answer those questions though. What's your read on daemon, and what do you think of his half- suspicion on zhero?

Zhero can be town for now since I have a stronger scumread on daemon.

Fuck pressure, fuck derphammers, fuck me. I was terrible.

I tried to "be" town this game, by talking about things I actually thought were scummy. That didn't work out too well due to knowing peoples' alignments. (I actually thought daemon was the SK, btw.) I think making up things that I think are scummy will work out better in both having a reasonable number of scumreads and not forcing myself to switch when I see that the things I say are scummy are not in fact scummy. I also think that more active scumhunting would have helped, but it's kinda hard when you're under pressure.

Anyone have any other advice for how to improve my scum play?
