The only skepticism I have for the claim is that it's an incredibly swingy role. It's very easy to imagine that he could have set up a strong fake-claim that would draw the nightkill, and the setup reviewers would have to have been wary about it.

I don't have any good reads. I haven't been giving this game much attention. If I rolled scum, this wouldn't be a problem, since, y'know, this game can ramble on without me.

Hey V, you're town but hoping one from a list of five is scum is not a good return.

the probability of at least 1 person being scum in a selection of 5 people is 1- P(no scum in 5 people) = 1 - (16*15*14*13*12)/(21*20*19*18*17) which is about 78.5%.
Assuming 5 man scum team and no other scum.

p muchit doesn't specifically mention it's limited to me and my partner but it says that it allows me and my partner to talk during the day and makes no reference to anything else so I assume it's just works on us

By default an encryptor works on the entire game, unless it specifies otherwise. Like the scum encryptors in both of my setups have given town neighbors daychat, etc.

Wouldn't this imply that by having pie alive, scum would also have day chat?

So, from what I gather, scum hunting begins with communicating with players right? That is something I didn't want to do without the game firmly in memory. But, I am starting more of that now.
Any advice on scum hunting?

Spoiler: Vote activity

First let us look at his nice "summary post 750". He further elaborates on this with a "town scale 785".
Now, let us look through the summary post. A quick view will note that he never actually mentions who he thinks is scum. Only people who he believes are town. Yet, when he has his list, we can see player who he has clearly labeled as scum. A particularly fun thing to note is how in the post, it is implied that he "dislikes" mac's posts, yet in the town scale post, mac near the top of the "town" part. With some investigating, all I can see that would change his mind is when mac told him that one of the quoted posts was a "joke."

The point I'm getting at is that the entire thing was extremely non-committal aside from all the town reads, and yet, he has a very clear view on who is scum as we can see in post 786.
Actually, upon rereading some of them, they do seem consistent. The Varsoon read still feels off since he doesn't have much on him in the summary post.

Now then, we now see that his first actual vote occurs on post 1092. The reasoning was something like "since the only wagons right now are varsoon and bubba". He defends the vote with "varsoon was one of my scum reads anyway" (things in quote are not exact quotes). I'm pretty sure someone mentioned that he voted the varsoon counter wagon when faced with his own wagon. It seemed to me like a self-preservation vote more than anything else. He unvotes immediately after the claim though. I would think that if he really had a scum read on varsoon, the claim wouldn't quell it that fast. I could be wrong though.

His next vote is the infamous "crumb post 1201". Here he votes Kat with the reasoning "You saw my early bomb crumb and said i looked scummy". This to me seems really like grasping at straws.

Vote lasts all of 69 posts where he then decided to vote Kaze in post 1271. The reasoning here is "he is inquiring what '1-shot bomb' means when GCBC said not to!"

Ah hah, found it in post 1299. Where tsukasa points out how bubba attempted to redirect to the opposing wagon. I'm so happy my memory still works.

Moving on, next vote is in post 1309 where he votes tsukasa. Honestly, I can't find a reason he voted her. He just labels her as scum and moves on. Then again, this is still consistent with the "read list" posted in 785, but still.

His next vote is in post 1352 on varsoon in order to get varsoon to "reveal" his already claimed character name. I find this odd since it was implied he had read the claim post with all the claim information. Still feels like vote reason fishing though. He unvote really quickly though saying "I can't believe i missed it."

Next vote is on Gaiden in post 1801 where he votes for the reason "I call bullshit that you can't scumhunt!" Honestly, this seems more valid to me that some of the other reasons he had voted.

That is it for his votes, but we then have in post 1872 where he introduces the idea of voting Kaze in response to kaze claiming that he was "not leaving this game through a lynch." And here is where i said that it looks like he was fishing for a vote reason. He later quotes my claim saying that I am not scum hunting. I can only assume this is an attempt to discredit my claim. Luckily for me, two other people noticed the post.

Point is, I don't like the vote activity. His vote reasoning is thin in most cases and as the day presses on, it looks like he is trying to find a "socially acceptable" vote reason to avoid suspicion.
Anyway, I've heard this vocaloid playlist loop twice now. I'll answer any other things tomorrow.

@ kat: that nested posts thing was made about mid way through the creation of this post along where i had to do too much re-reading of the thread. On the plus side, i think I have most of the thread in memory. Down side, this was too much information to take in this amount of time. i'll do my response to my wagon tomorrow, but i can summarize it as such: vote the useless lurker. not a bad reason for a wagon i think.
