This is indeed quite nonsensical as many players on the site do not speak english as their native language. Me included.

Also nervous scum usually just previews their posts and changes them endlessly, rather than that they let their nervousness slip through. Nervousness might be a tell with chat mafia or skype mafia or in real life, but not with forum mafia. Except with newb scum of course.

Overly editing posts tends to make them more stilted and broken.

He provided a "list of reads" and when asked about why he thought chamber was town, refered to a post after the list was made (implying the list was made up and that he actually didn't think about reasoning). When pressed to explain, he said that the original reason of the read was "posts looked genuine", which doesn't convince me either: in a game that had already picked up a decent amount of steam, if he only has two reads, I expect these to be based on factual/loudly spoken reasonings, not based on a very weak reason, on someone that has never been really in the light.

And add ABR on my list of "useless (could be town or scum)". For some reason I forgot about him.

I've seen town do this so often. Scum can do it easier, but its not exclusively a scumtell, its a 'I'm not really paying attention to this game' tell, town can be guilty of that too.

Mafia would be a sad game otherwise That "scum can do it easier" is good enough for me in a day1 wagon (and much better than VT claiming / being useless, which is done indistinctively by town and scum). Also I think you downplay the tell a bit. "Reading someone has town, then giving a reason that could not be the reason for the read in a very short timeframe" is a bit more that "not paying attention to the game".
