I've never been fake-hammered before (I've only been lynched once in recent memory, and that was when there was a cop guilty on me), but yes, the first thing I'd do if someone "hammered" me is check whether I was actually hammered. But that's because I'm methodical like that.

The upper tier isn't ranked in any order, if anything they're actually the weakest of my town reads, but it has to do with posts I liked from them earlier in the game, and their entrance today kinda felt like lost town rather than scum faking it. Nothing special; I don't like how all three heads seem to have better things to do than play this game, especially since I know at least one of them is active elsewhere, but I'm still thinking town. If I be wrong about a town read, it's probably them.

Thinking about this again has me wondering which posts she read that gave her the idea she'd been hammered anyway. Was it Cabd's actual vote? Or was it something else? Because the page her reaction is on, it isn't even clear that she'd been "hammered". So she was obviously following the thread to some extent, and the question then becomes whether she was following it enough to know she'd been fake hammered, or just lightly following it and thought Cabd had really hammered.

The funny thing is that everyone apart from Tammy seems to have known it was a fake-hammer (or at least everyone posting at the time indicated they knew). So Tammy would literally be the only person who really thought she'd been hammered if she indeed really thought she'd been hammered.

Anyway, me main reason for thinking they're scum has to do with the way they be posting D1. I don't have _that_ much experience with mac, but I read a fair few of his games while I was playing in Xenogears and he comes across as a bit more opinionated and inquisitive about things as town. As scum, he seems to coast a bit more and get by on as little content as he can. I haven't seen any of his recent scum games to see if this has changed, but I really did not like the way he was posting D1. mollie called him town-mac because he was trying to figure things out; I did not see him trying to figure things out at all. I saw him ask a few questions here and there, but they were rather weak, and it did not look like he was trying to figure out who's scum.

Then the other head of the scoundrel, Varsoon, came along and made a big deal out of not having read his role PM while saying he was about to catch up. One head of Si&Am seemed to think this was a town tell; I be of the exact opposite opinion. I think he was either lying, or he was told they're scum and perhaps was telling the truth about not reading the role PM. Either way, I think mac would have told him their alignment before that point. This felt really out of place.

Also, he never actually caught up. Or did anything.

And now he be sailing by and dropping votes here and there - he be here, but not providing opinions.

Either that, or they picked up on a crumb from 165 Trolls.

last night i had a theory generic hydra and tammy hydra were scum together and generic hydra didn't want to bus tammy yesterday but i'm not sure how much sense they make as scum together given tammy-generic thing (though he's probably capable of faking an emotional reaction like that, i was thinking he prob wouldn't replace out because of a fight with a buddy - slightly rethinking this as a possibility given he is clearly still reading the game and hasn't actually replaced out) and i don't really have a scum read on generic hydra based on their play

plus i'm not sure how much sense either of them makes as scum with mastin - i'm trying to figure out what YA was doing with their tammy vote D1 and i dunno which head or heads were pushing it so i dunno how i'm supposed to assess it

there are certain responses that i expect from mastin as town and there are certain responses that i expect from mastin as scum and he's hitting all the scum notes

it has a lot to do with tone, attitude and phrasing

one reason i was pressing for mastin to read the game and give his opinions is because (a) it will solidify my read on him one way or another (and i'm pretty sure he doesn't yet know exactly what i look for in his posts so i don't think he's capable of faking his town self when commenting on certain things) and (b) i want to see what his eventual read on me is when he doesn't have the excuse of not having read the game yet (and if he knows anything at all about reading me like he claims to, then he'll have no excuse but to town read me unless he's scum - he'll probably do it anyway even if he is scum, but i wanna see what happens here)

I've finally figured out how to describe the difference between mastin-scum and mastin-town, and it's whimsy. He's just not good at faking reactions to things when he's scum - it lacks the whimsical nature his town posts usually have. Even when he's being completely serious as town, there's still a certain whimsy to how he approaches people and how he responds to people, and when he's scum it's just... flat. There's no life in his posts.

Instead there's a sort of unnaturally aggressive tone in his responses. If I stop being lazy, I'll bring up some examples of what I'm talking about specifically.
