...well...if I think I have some manner of spotting town vs. scum mastin, and I say I don't have a clear look on the question yet and intend to let it simmer until I do, you asking me to specifically explain the tell now likely defeats my ability to use it to catch mastin due to increasing mastin's ability to try to counterplay to the tell I am using.

I read what majiffy posted and my gut said scum. In a day 1 I don't have a lot of stuff to go on so I go with what my gut tells me.
I never manage to sway a town with any case I make so I'm rarely doing that. What I do is remember what people I found scummy and what people I found town. Sometimes I can have concrete reasons that I can explain, other times I have a gut feel that is really hard to explain.

cases are not soley to make others vote with you, they are a tool for which others can read you better, so saying that you dont like making cases because no one follows them is bad logic.

Your point -might- make sense if Vezok had actually written a case on Majiffy and subsequently forgotten it. But forgetting what about Majiffy's string of herpaderp was scummy exactly means that he isn't reaching for reasons to justify himself. He called it a gut scumread. The only thing worse to read than a Mastin wall, is a Mastin wall that sudd

enly goes boldmode halfway through and never lets up.

Also there are way too many people complacent with "Sven/Vezok/Majiffy" scum, and a massively underwhelming amount of arguments being made in favor of any of the three of us. Particularly since Vezok and I have pretty much locked horns, and no one seems to be making a single quip about that, or what it may mean for our alignments.

What is there to fix? If their ISO is not very big, that means there's not much to get a read off of, hence them being dead-null. What are you missing?

That was a long time ago, so I remember the game, but not the details. I do remember that before getting into it with vengeful townie, that I started with a Sven scumread but ended up dropping it by the time I caught up. The link is for meta-checkers to check and give objective opinion on.

My vote is on Sven for fake scumhunting (illogic train in 786).

I wind up re-skimming that game and the borkgame micro every time svenskt and I play together, which is maybe why it's a good thing we don't play together that often. With the exception of Nacho, all of the scumteam was in my scumpile on night 1. And Cephrir, who was inexplicably town.

I'm not seeing amnesiac-svenskt so far.

I skimmed over part of it also. While I'm also not seeing Amnesiac-Sven directly, I'm assuming a year has improved his English and his ability to play scum. We'll see.

Yes, i agree with you that people are voting you based off their reactions to your attitude, playstyle, and other factors that don't have to do with you being town or scum.
But I don't think that it is healthy for you to presume that's because all of them are bad players and you're a perfectly fine player.
My submission is that the blame can be equally spread on both sides, and I'm hoping you are aware enough as a player to assess whether what you do is helpful or hurtful to the town wincon and to adjust your play accordingly. If not...then not, and it is within your right to decide I'm crazy. The evidence appears supportive of my conclusion however. If it offends you so much you need to drop f-bombs I'll make this my last post about it, but if you'd like to discuss game theory after the game I think I could help your play move towards at least my perception of 'pro-town'.

@AP - Dan is good. DGB would be brilliant but there isn't support for it. The Sekai one is bad too methinks. It's certainly a contentious one, which makes it a difficult agreement.
Why do you oppose the Vezo one so much? I can't read him particularly, and even if he is town it's not like he's been a whirlwind of reads and he *is* a massive distraction to at least some town players. I think it would benefit to have him dead and flipped.

@Sven - being likable is nothing about being pro-town. There is a long list of players (probably a few in this game) who are not exactly revered far and wide for being likable but still don't have wagons run on them for that alone.

Right, I'm muddling my way through the pages I've missed, gonna trickle my thoughts into the thread while I work on putting them into words.

I like his reactions to being wagoned and the fact that he says Sven is "a townie tunneling" and that "in his mind I am scum and he doesn't understand why people don't see that too." Considering the context of the Sven wagon, I think this is a reasonably town reaction to asking themselves, "Why is this person so wrong about me?" Especially from vezok, I just don't see this exchange happening with scum-vezok.

I don't actually agree that Sven looks like town tunnelling, though. To me, the "case" feels like a poor attempt at fake scumhunting the easiest counterwagon to himself. His "I AM NOT FUCKING SCUM" post is all right but isn't very convincing to me. My experience is that town frustration should either seeth out of a person or explode in a sudden, violent burst of impotent fury that makes everyone stop and say, "Whoa." ALL CAPS, YELLING, swearing, etc. are tools scum use to pretend they're upset without actually having to do anything except push the cap locks button on their keyboard. ok i just did a bit of reflection and realised my iso is indeed pretty shit.

give me 7 days to catch up and write good stuff. i replaced in for nero cain on day 2 but the day ended overnight and something similar happened for day 3 but i was able to check the thread then. i havent read day 1 at all.

but if you're going to lynch me before then then do it quick. one of my pet peeves is putting in a shitton of effort then it goes to waste. like red wedding mafia. i wrote a fricking big case to lynch a scum and the dumb town lynched me anyway. then horribly stupid town totally ignored my case on a scum even after i flipped town and didnt bother lynching the "mafia daytalk enabler" until day 4 after 3 mislynches. its idiotic how people dont trust conf-dead-town. needless to say town lost.
