the fact that the mod has to keep asserting the field polarity with every votecount is making me think that there are day actions that can change the polarity i.e. daykills or day-polarity-switchers?? would be really cool if someone could change polarity to confirm themselves between votecounts

is flay really the only one who can activate a hydra

i mean like really but also you could have maybe just clicked y'know the thing that asks if it's an alt or hydra account to avoid the whole "you already have an account you need activation" thing

also for some reason i'm just seeing this game as everyone's just.... here. like there are people talking and people voting and mastin's making big posts but it's like i don't really know how to read them at this point.

it's not even an "everyone is null" thing it's like a "you all are failing to make a decent impression on me in any direction when normally i would feel at least someone's doing something scummy while also being towny at the same time"

pedit rach it's just like there's not a votecount number, just "votecount" and i don't see why we would have to be reminded of the polarity with each votecount unless there is a potential for change there

i would be interested in hearing however just how much of the scumread on them comes from how they're still posting separately whether it's conscious or not because i can't imagine that the confusion caused by non-hydra posts of a supposed hydra wouldn't at the very least make scumreads on them a bit more wanted or acceptable if you know what i mean

basically i don't think the hydra issue is helping how they're being perceived and i'm kind of reluctant to let this go on without at least mentioning it in case it might be happening

actually i think i'm going to ask shiny hydreigon to not just sign their posts left middle and right, but by their actual usernames. or at the very least publish a key so i can tell which is which.

because i'm not even going to bother trying to read them until i know which meta to connect with which posts

(that last post was mara right?)

[marquis]

pedit thanks for the compliment??????? this is kind of like biting the horse that feeds you but i actually don't like you saying "i'm not going to force it on you". maybe it just sounds too nice idk (like a weak form of buddying idk idk idk), which really sucks because i want to take it at face value.

also of course it's not alignment indicative that flay hasn't activated the hydra :/

in case you totally misinterpreted what i said what i meant again was that i'm concerned that the extra noise created by their posting from the main accounts while sharing a slot might be unnecessarily facilitating scumreads on them/scumvibes from them. which you disagreed with, said you liked how it made the distinction between their individual thoughts clearer, but scumread them anyway?

though i think i understand how the scumread could be validated in a theoretical sense. in a hydra posting normally, under the same account, it's much easier for inconsistencies in reads and viewpoints regarding the game to be explained by "we're a hydra and we are [two/three/four] different people with different opinions". i'm sure it's happened before where a head of a scum hydra made an inconsistent remark, and covered it up with "no that was my other head not me".

but like mastin and anti don't have that luxury in this case if they were scum, so theoretically it would make your scumread on them develop more easily because it's easier to differentiate between scumtells or scummy behavior for each individual head....

eh writing it out makes the idea make much less sense. pls ignore my middle of the night rambling

[marquis]

er, i meant to ask "to what extent"

because i kind of hate trying to read people who can emulate their town meta as scum/are super confident and don't seem like they're hiding anything at all as scum. i mean i'm pretty sure that's how it is for most people but it's like if mastin's one of those people who is virtually indistinguishable i'm probably just going to stop reading her posts entirely.

so mastin stop talking about how it must be a scum driven wagon and please try to talk about other players in ways that don't imply that this game revolves around you kthxbai~~

nacho and tso haven't posted and yet you call them town

it's almost like everyone not voting you is town

and everyone voting you is scum

and you actually addressed it as a valid idea in one of your vc quoting posts

i really don't think you would even consider this as a viable option if you were town. it's just ridiculous and incredibly egocentric and does not fit at all the whole mastin-as-town-is-logical thing and instead just looks like you're scum scrambling or forming these "scumreads" for the heck of it

really sure mastin/anti is scum now

general feeling of the page is "i'm making reads on people with not even a single post to back them up, but i'm going to attack other people for having scumreads on me and get all butthurt because you're not supposed to scumread me so soon". more like scum "how dare you scumread me already" not town "but i'm town so that doesn't apply" sorts of rebuttals i think

Wow, this is crazy!! Anyway, Mastin and Antihero. Your unique responses to being the main wagon right now are intriguing, but now is
probably
not the time to get angry and arrogant. To be honest, you two sound a little too desperate to be normal. Plus, the raging kinda hurts my brain. :(

Mastin, what is your readslist based off of? What warrants Zdenek and me, among others, at the top of your list? What warrants SKOT and JD, among others, at the bottom of the list? I think that's the real problem -- having reads, but publishing them without thinking them through enough.

What the fuck, talah?? Why claim on Day 1 -- is it because you're trying to get pressure off of you? Good luck with that, because you jumped out of the metaphorical oven and into a cauldron of "haha no".

xayzeck i said them not being a hydra could affect reads because 1) more annoying as individual posters space/noisewise (this has happened to me as doduo at times) 2) no hydra account to hide behind because i know hydras can get away with more at times accountability-wise

mastin i get you want to lynch both talah and aegor but i don't get that if you think talah is so scum why don't you want to lynch them in spite of the pr claim. scum -> scum pr -> lynch scum pr over potential scum? i'm not liking how your train of thought is suddenly now willing to leave talah behind after focusing on seemingly only that for like... a lot of posts. walls mostly. lots of walls. no.

Does anyone else think Nacho is kind of fishy?? I remember playing a game with him like ages ago, and back then he was like running the show. Like, I know he's V/LA, but even before that he didn't seem to be as engaged as before. Marquis dictates the votes, though.

(I accidentally typed Nacho as Macho. is this a bad thing)

i'm really done with excruciatingly long day 1s that destroy not-caught-up players' and subs' abilities to give a shit about the game

so i want to lynch one of the following within the next two pages: xayzeck, xayzeck, dry-fit, xayzeck

oh sure i have other scumreads but it really doesn't matter when the power to wagon efficiently and coherently is somehow missing from the game

i'm going to repeat what i said earlier: i want a xayzeck or dry-fit lynch, and i ~think~ aegor is town. certainly not as strong of a scumread on him as on xayzeck, and my main townread wants the xayzeck lynch too so it's perfect.

Because if you spend your efforts trying to decide the best lynch for the day instead of trying to buddy up with everyone in sight, you won't NEED to make friends. You'll exude natural charisma that makes townies swoon at your feet.

SKOT has been pinging me recently, re-reading his iso his posts are wishy washy and I think he might include more qualifiers then me. Then Necro gives you a good what for and he replies with , "Well I didn't really call you scum." Went from sitting on a fence to full on backtracking. I've disagreed with TSO but up until this point thought it came from town. This is a huge reach, as there is no way someone else's meta is going to apply to Xay. It's is scummy to me. It reads to me as the wagon might fall apart at any time, lets throw everything at it, which is a null tell until you start throwing completely irrelevant stuff into it.
i remembered reading this post and thinking it was town because i totally agreed with almost all of it but i forgot who posted it. he's wrong about tso and xayzeck subtle reads but the callout is incredibly on point and it's like getting into my head almost as much as tso did more recently. just because jordan's posts sound detached doesn't mean he's scum, which iirc was a main reason for the scumread on him. i think it's more likely it was like me and just stopped caring for a bit until there was stuff that absolutely needed a response to

jordan is town. aegor is town. please lynch xayzeck we were so close to it

actually since the xayzeck wagon kind of broke apart is it still possible to get a dry fit lynch because rereading post again please, it's horrible and the "point" he makes for the scumread in it is completely invalid

but you're wrong, dry fit is still scum and the read's actually probably stronger now. there's a huge difference in dry fit's tone in these games. in the large normal as town, his tone and attitude even pre-wagon-on-him (as well as during the wagon) sound much angrier at people accusing him.

in his iso here, it's much much much more polite and reserved. it's a lot of reads/comments on players, sure, but dry fit is cool as in calm. the general feelings of his responses that i can see are

that town game: this is horrible you're horrible fuck off
this game: lol ok then

i think the measure of his confidence here and reservedness or whatever the word is is a lot different from there. you can compare him getting scumreads sure but the way he deals with them contrast too much to be the same alignment

pedit this is a minor thing but i think in that game taking the time to sign their posts so as to not have to get caught up in flipflops-where-it's-not-a-flipflop-because-different-head is maybe important. do you get what i mean?? it's a small detail but eh.

more importantly as scum jordan is apparently much more into the game and less detached. they're making much longer and more involved posts there; it makes sense with heads being the kinds of players who prefer scum to town. jordan is active now, but it feels like they've stopped caring as much about this game.

and i was about to go on with specific examples/quotes seeing as jordan's at l-1 already but then i realized since he's at l-1 we're just to wait until the deadline to actually think about jordan being town then lynch the slot anyway out of "no time"/apathy.

[marquis]
sorry bulba i knew i was typing this up under my main but i was too far gone to care

i'm really proud of the distinction i spotted between the two jordans though so here it is in shorter form so you all have no excuse for seeing it

this is jordan as engaged and long-winded scum: http://forum.mafiascum.net/viewtopic.ph ... er_sort=Go
this is jordan now, detached and making short and quick points: http://forum.mafiascum.net/viewtopic.ph ... er_sort=Go

jordan is town but it's going to end up being an "wow lots of people like this wagon time to sheep it" lynch.

dry-fit is scum.

titus is scum.

skot is scum.

xayzeck is scummy.

i'm paranoid of thor and him dancing around all three of today's major wagons didn't and doesn't help to calm that.

this is the only big game i can think of where at first thought the number of my scumreads trumps the number of my townreads and i can't PoE out of that at all.
do you guys see my dilemma?
sorry, that question doesn't make sense. just complaining that my usual thought process is screwing up this game.

why is jon listed with dryfit and aegor when he's not even a major wagon? stop trying to sell him like he is, because at the moment i don't particularly care about that slot.

also about xayzeck maybe if you read/were paying attention instead of just wagon hopping i was actually with the xayzeck wagon until it spontaneously exploded for no good reason

First of all, I was at work until now. Second, why would I claim prematurely? Your suggestion that I should have claimed at some indefinite point in the past is absurd. We have already had two claims. In one day. That is bad.

I am not claiming. Feel free to hammer me. I may even do it myself if we reach deadline. Of course, I would rather Dry-fit get lynched.
I made not comment or suggestion that you should have claimed any point in the past. I said If you do not show up and claim, then you need to go bye bye. Nothing more, nothing less. You showed up and refuse to claim. You need to go bye bye. Simple. So, nice misrepresentation there, but par for course.

ok stop right there before you misrep me any more and pull a muscle or whatever the kids are calling it these days.

i'm going to make this concise because lately i've been having a spontaneous-wall-generation problem and to be honest it's really clashing with the image i like to keep of myself.

one.

i asked for bulba to lock the thread because i wanted to have the last word in that "conversation"
T S O
and i were having (conversation meaning tso being oh-so-
right
-always-
right
and me getting
rightfully
pissed at him for it). was it in town's best interests? probably not. am i scum? lolnopegoaway.

two.

this one is about you calling me a "giant fucking troll". i may or may not be abnormally tall for my ethnicity, and i may or may not be addicted to the-next-word-in-that-sequence, but you don't get to throw that troll shit at me. maybe a long time ago, but not here. the fact that i like to post in lowercase while actually trying to enjoy the game doesn't mean i can't play, and doesn't fucking mean i'm scum.

let me say that again because i seem to have to be saying this one a lot as of late:

the fact that i like to post in lowercase while actually trying to enjoy the game doesn't mean i can't play, and doesn't [expletive] mean i'm scum.

clearly you're either not actually reading my posts or you are and you're ignoring them completely. which brings me to the next number.

three.

let's do another repeat line:
clearly you're either not actually reading my posts or you are and you're ignoring them completely.
so i generally like to be concise. so what? truth time: a lot of people [don't like to / don't even] read walls. that trait in me usually translates to liking to keep things simple and go one at a time. just because some of my posts are short doesn't mean they're "empty vapid content". fucking annoying blatant misrepresentation and by the way, i looked at my iso for myself, and if you're not even going to say anything about the good chunk of totally intentional / potentially accidental big-to-medium-sized posts, i could just be purposefully obnoxious and quote all of them, but i'm pretty sure i should just stop typing right now because you're going to not even read this and say it's a scum response anyway.

lolnope pedit mentality wants me to do more

i'll give you this: your "case" on me is so blatantly empty and so willfully ignorant that you (surprise!) managed to make me make myself think you're actually somehow town, because i really don't think scum would be ballsy enough to try and drive a lynch on me when i'm obvtown and obvtown-being-read-correctly. sorry-not-sorry if it makes me sound conceited in my status. but guess what? it's true, i'm town, and no matter how far from your version of optimal town play you think i am, i think you should get your head out of your ass and vote dry-fit if you want to actually start being useful instead of dividing the town and pushing your ridiculous mislynch.

this has been another accidental wall from marquis. nighty-night now~

why is dry fit wagon gone. is the metal sonic wagon a policy lynch. if it is i'm pretty sure there are better policy lynches (see: necromancers)

I'm on phone so caps to feel better since no italics

YOU JUST SAID EXACTLY THAT YOU AGREE WITH ME THAT DRY FIT IS SCUM

AND YET YOU'RE VOTING STARFLOWER FOR THE WAGON

YOU. DID. NOT. EVEN. SAY. OR. MENTION. ANY. SCUMREAD. THERE.

THIS IS NOT A SPEED GAME

THIS IS NOT EVEN HOW YOU CATCH SCUM IN ANY SCENARIO

from now on I'm going to see you as scum who forgot to disguise that he supposedly thinks starflower is scum

Like it's not technically a slip

But your posts just struck so many wrong chords with me that's it's like. A fatal blow. Good luck because I want to follow up with tso and tip and lynch you next

I've posted my case repeatedly.

First, scumslip.
Second, useless posting throughout ISO.

Only now that you've come back in the last 2 hours have you posted anything resembling content. How Mastin and Antihero townread you is anyone's guess.

You're pushing a caseless lynch on Dryfit while hypocritically and wrongly stating that I have no case.
Is wanting to get the last word in an admittedly petty argument a scumsli

Is hammering town a scumslip

I have no fuckinggg idea what you. Are. Talking. About and you are driving me insane. Because you know what else

OUR POSTS HAVE NOT BEEN USELESS AND TRYING TO PASS OFF THE MASS OF DAY 1 READS AND CASES WE MADE AS NONCONTENT? IS INFURIATING.

get your shit together because I still really don't think you would dare making such a fucking horrible push or as you call it "case" on me as scum. Get back to town titus who maybe gets reads wrong but at the very least usually can make at last some sense doing it.

i'm partially confused and partially "how dare you!" because regardless of your alignment, all you're doing now is just serving to aggravate people and the only motivation i can think of other than you just trying to fuck shit up for a laugh is you being scum and just blatantly misrepping them.

and if this is you saying that a policy lynch or pressure-designed-to-stop-mainly-mastin-from-pulling-shitty-wagon-antics on them is long overdue, i agree with the sentiment but in any case i'm just completely baffled at how you even decided doing that would be a good idea.

essentially, my view here is that of

"i don't understand it; therefore, i will attempt to kill it"

and i feel that i am completely justified in my actions after the ways in which you are treating mastin and anti.

i'm expressing agreement in your goal in that i, mostly during the latter half of day 1, felt like this game would have gone better if they weren't...... here.

i'm expressing bewilderment at your
choice of conduct
, in that you quoting their post, deleting an important line from their post, and then criticizing them for a "lack" of the information given in the line you deliberately deleted, is something that i absolutely cannot understand why you would do that as town.

the closest explanation i can think of for you being town and doing that is that you just want to aggravate them, but in turn you're aggravating me because i see it as a horrible thing to do.

it's much, much easier to come up with reasons why you would want to do that as scum, and the whole action simply makes more sense with you being scum.

i'd rather not.

i'm trying to figure out what your motivations for misrepresenting necromancers' post were, so i'm asking.

now you're just deliberately withholding the answer.

which gives me yet another action for which i'm trying to figure out the motivations of.

because i'm not going to come up with the reasons for you.

simply put, you're refusing to be open about this and fmpov stopping me from trying to understand what's really going on here.

i'm completely fine with just lynching you instead of having to deal with more and more rhetorical-questions-that-are-not-answers-that-i-care-about.

i'm pretty sure i actually did.

and all other assumptions of a town mindset are just that- assumptions, in order for me to try and figure out the likelihood that those town mindsets are even possible.

just because i chose to evaluate your actions from a potential town mindset doesn't mean i can only see it as town.

it just means i chose to use the "these are the reasons why thor would do this as town and they ultimately don't make sense at all compared to the simple explanation that he's scum" approach rather than the "keep giving the simple explanation that he's scum while ignoring potential town mindsets" approach.

or in other words, i went through the scenarios of town-you doing that, ruled them out, and came to you being scum through
process of elimination
.

ftr i'm not unvoting.

No, I think it was intentional.

First quote within mine is Thor, second is original Necro.

It's not a case of Thor leaving out everything except the last line. He quoted everything,
including
the quote within the quote, with the exception of "hydraleak".

It's not just like he could've deleted the first sentence in the editor. How the quote displays in editing format has that very important line that he deleted
in the middle of the full quote, next to the rest of the content.

And it's not just two words he deleted.

I'm finding it very hard to believe Thor accidentally deleted a whole sentence in the middle of the quote without reading it or understanding what it said, then immediately replied asking for the answer given in said sentence.

I'd be fine with "I wanted to see if you would answer the same" as an explanation as to why this happened. Hell, I'd even accept a shitty "it was a reaction test".

But you claiming you didn't
mean to
do that is something that I absolutely do not believe and think you are scum trying to back out of a bad turn of events here.

On the subject of "V/LA":

caled is V/LA. We've been talking for a bit about potentially replacing out because we've pretty much completely lost track of this game and are completely disconnected. Pretty much a motivation loss completely here.

...Well, I know that I at least am contemplating replacing out because I know that someone else could probably give this game the attention it deserves. I feel really bad about this because caled didn't have to hydra with me and I really feel like I'm just tying her down. :(

On the subject of this game's content, the last feelings I can remember about Titus and ZZZX is that I read them both as town. So this is... meh.

What I said earlier about being unable to wagon scum still stands. Do you know how demoralizing it is to have your townreads wagoned and lynched over and over again while scum gets free passes for what feels like no reason at all? IIRC people just threw the whole Thor thing to the side because "oh it's Thor, he knows what he's doing, I really want him to be town because he's good at town, so he's town" blah blah blah and so on.

To add insult to injury, a totally viable and justifiable Saki wagon didn't even get more than 5 votes, while ZZZX is probably going to be lynched today. ZZZX has actually done things and played his usual town meta, while Saki is... well, you know. I don't even know or care anymore if he's town or scum, but why is the ZZZX wagon so much better than his? Because Saki has an earlier join date or something?

Whatever.

VOTE: saki

It's staying there; no, I'm not going to hammer ZZZX for the sake of a lynch.

I'm not going to compromise on my townreads anymore this game. I shouldn't have hammered Aegor. I should have spoken up about Metal Sonic.

Tomorrow, I'm lynching one of: Dry-fit/SKOT/Saki/maybe Thor, but that's probably unviable in any case.

I'll try from now on to force myself to log on and check in on what's going on. But don't expect much more from me (I'm talking to you, Titus- I'm pretty sure this insane reasonless tunneling from one of my reluctant townreads is part of why I can't feel bothered to play.)
