Welcome to the glitzy town of Hollypop… mansions and swimming pools everywhere! Everyone here is a famous pop-star (aren't they?) - (no-one else could afford the house prices)!
Lately, however, there's been more than a hint of trouble in paradise… shadowy figures have been lurking around after dark…. graffiti has been appearing on the walls of the stately mansions, far too disgusting and offensive to repeat here….. and to cap it all off, yesterday Jessica Simpson's pet chihuahua was found dead in her front yard - well, parts of it were found, the head and tail are still missing. Police are very concerned and are urging the residents of Hollypop to be on their guard…

A lone driver in a black Mercedes rounds a corner just as a woman in Versace designer dress walks home towards her mansion. The driver's eyes widen as the target comes in sight, and the Mercedes accelerates….. THUMP!
"What a waste… that stain will never come out", murmers the driver, at the sight of the blood-splattered Vesace dress in the rear-view mirror.

3.17 am
A slim, dark figure appears from the shadows and inspects the body in the gutter. It's definitely the target…. is she dead already? One bullet to the head makes sure of it….

Citizens of Hollypop, PBuG (Kylie Minogue - pro-pop) has been brutally murdered! I suggest you do something about ridding the evil from your midst - and quickly!

I noticed the same thing JereIC, PBuG was last to respond and I guess PBuG paid the price.

The game only has 12 players, so two mafia groups doesn't seem that plausible to me. It's possible if both groups are small, say two people each. Or it could just mean that there are at least two people in the mafia.

I'm thinking it's more likely there's one mafia, two members, and one SK, loner; that's the set up I see most often in small games.

Looking over the list, I can point out a few people that would be impatient enough to kill the one non-confirmee. Of course, at the same time that could be a gambit to try to place suspicion upon them, but for now my opinion is not made up yet.

To be honest, I am surprised that PBuG is dead (no offense intended PBuG), but he would definitely not be my first choice to kill, let alone two seperate groups killing him, so I find last night's kill quite interesting.

My guess is hit and runner=sk and shooter=mafia, so for now

While it is most likely that there is 1 SK and 1 mafia, I don't think that we should rule out the possibility of two small mafia groups... I've seen stranger. (cf Mixed Theme Mafia)

Two attempts at his life night one...it can't be a coincidence. It has to do with the fact that he was the last one to confirm. But why would that matter?

I can't see there being two small mafias...so I'm leaning toward one mafia and a SK or multiple SKs.

It's important because any lead is important, especially on the first day. However, there are two ways of reading it, so that's the rub, imo. Secondly, there are at least 2 mafia. How do I know, well look at the nice little death scene. One person calls another to do the actual killing. Besides, I don't know of any mod that would create a game that could be over at the end of night one (mafia and SK kill each other).

Driver=sk via the lone driver bit, imo, so we have 3+ scum out of 11, so a random choice from a town type person has a 30%+ chance of landing on scum, why is that important *shrug* I don't really know, but I felt like saying it anyhow ^_^

Tigris: I'm trying to figure out if you are voting for me randomly, or if your initial post was trying to infer that *I* might be impatient enough to kill the slow party.

One other thing to think about: I'm American, and I don't think I would have considered Kylie Minogue to be a "pop star" (although her new album IS coming out soon) ... but seeing as to how she's Australian and a big deal in Talitha's part of the world, it might be important to realize that her idea of "pop star" might be a little off from ours. My personal role hasn't been a factor in American pop culture in a couple of years.

It was random, well semi at least. I'm still undecided on whether someone is trying to frame the impatient or the impatient are evil, probably a mixture of both considering that both attacks were on PBuG. You would be in the patient class imo. I don't think speculating on the roles right now is helpful to anyone save for the mafia as it gives them a better idea of who might be in the game, but that is just my opinion.

I don't know if I'd go that far. But AFAIC if you are up to date with 'pop' music or music in general you should at least know who the major players are (regardless of whether you listen to them or not).

Of course having said that - I live in New Zealand as well, and we pretty much get the best (and the worst) of US, Aus and Brit music, as well as a few local stars...

I can believe that Kylie has had minimal impact on the USA: I think I watched a documentary last year where she was following a punishing schedule trying to become as much of a megastar there as she is in the UK/Australia/NZ/wherever else she's a megastar. Evidently it didn't work too well.

That aside, I agree that it can't be a coincidence that PBug was the last to confirm and was targetted twice. But what that means? I don't know.

I have to go with the theory that the two (or three?) killing groups - whoever they are - decided that he wasn't going to show up and decided to start without him...

Of course it's equally posible that we have some people playing this game who just don't like PBuG.

I believe this is called a 'has-been.'

Your role might be a prime suspect for SK, a 'has-been' who tries to get the spotlight back by taking out the real STAR.

Well, it seems to me that there aren't necessarily two seperate killing groups. Especially since it would be odd to have them both target the one inactive person. The story, from my interpretation, could just point to one meticulous killer. In both of the times Kylie gets offed, the killer refers to her as "the target." And in the first segment, someone makes a call to a hitman type, I'd guess.

I don't know, I wouldn't eliminate the possiblity of two killing groups, but it doesn't seem to be a necessity.
