Um, what?In post 54, ActionDan wrote:I'm assuming it's directed at me. Apparently this is a tough (rough) question for me. And the only thing this might refer to is either my opinion of Xay or Dr pepper... though I don't know which nor how. The vote I assume is connected since I just made a content post. What's wrong is that there are a few gaps intentionally not filled- Rubicon

The impression is of deliberate opaqueness, which is something I was weighing as a possible strategy before the game.
ActionDan, who are your top 3 scum reads at this point? And please walk me through that thing you said about Xayzeck not being the jester -- I don't understand that but I'd like to.
Also, ZZZX - you seemed to want pressure on Xayzeck in your first post. What have you gotten from the wagon so far? Do you think his reaction was town or scum?- Rubicon

Your #101 is a pretty good post. I'd add that the difference between jester and mafia is that the mafia are a team, with team dynamics and no night kill which adds a unique set of pressures on them.
I don't think the jester is going to be obvious at all, though. Or we'll be lucky if they are. I'm focusing on team hunting and jester PoE, but considering the range of behaviors between good-bad jester, good-bad scum, good-trolling town, etc...- Rubicon

actually I think my objection to that shos line is here:
...this is not scumhunting DP, and shouldn't == "DP is not a good wagon".In post 109, shos wrote:which I can't see why you'd think so quickly into the game with the amount of posts he has.- Rubicon

Could you also answer the questions I directed to you? I'm sure you must just have missed them.In post 113, ZZZX wrote:Well o now have a list of 4 people with a 90% chance of not being a jester including myself that I'll share soon- Rubicon

Jester is probably within the group of active players who seem to care about controlling the game. A player who needs to be lynched by day 3 would probably feel pressure to achieve that goal.
shos
Xayzeck
ActionDan
Psyche? (melmond didn't fit this definition, though, and I kind of buy Psyche's line about wanting to improve his game)
Maaybe Shinobi.
Dan, thoughts on Xay?- Rubicon

Okay, so what bridges the gap for you between "a little town but subpar reading skills if so" and thinking he's not the jester? What's your reasoning? In post 137, ActionDan wrote:He's also not the jester- Rubicon

I wanted to mention that I hate this kind of statement. ItIn post 152, Psyche wrote:Rubicon and AD are the sorts who play apparently protown but are always pretty hard to read. AD's first extended post reads as pretty mechanical in its reasoning, but that might be his deal. I hate having to deal with them.alwaysfreaks me out and pings as a lazy cop-out from even trying to read me/others, which I think you should be able to do.
For one thing, you call our posts 'apparently protown' but don't commit to a town-read on either of us, which either leaves you open to vote both of us if the opportunity presents itself or allows you to slot a buddy in a noncommittal position next to a townie.
For another thing, and on a personal level, it bothers me even more when I can't figure out how the person making a meta argument has the meta they're trying to invoke. As far as I know you have never seen scum-me. Unless it was an alt or something, in which case I feel like you should be able to read me since you've seen both sides.- Rubicon

You're close to the top of the group of 5 possible jester candidates. In post 164, Shinobi wrote:I don't get how people think I'm jester. The jester is probably someone who cares more about this game. If you guys want to not lynch me ever though, that's cool.
If you don't explode by day 4, I think lynching you sounds like a pretty fantastic idea.
How does that sound to you?- Rubicon

sorry to see you go dp.
I think your reaction to my vote is informative regardless of your win condition, just in different ways. Whether I decide to lynch you today will depend. In post 179, Shinobi wrote:I don't even understand what you're trying to accomplish.
You're voting your jester read in hopes that he gives you something good? Wtf?
Let's go at this from a different angle. What do you think of the following players?
ActionDan
Hiraki
Psyche
shos (you unvoted him just now - why?)- Rubicon

So I think a more accurate way to put this would be, I think you should be able to give some substantial thoughts about the game by page 10. If you can't, that makes me wonder why not, in a bad way.In post 187, Shinobi wrote:I don't care about ActionDan because he's boring. He's saying stupid stuff that I don't care about.
Hiraki is talking about stuff that isn't even related to the thread.
Psyche might be town, but idk.
I unvoted shos so I could vote you.
You're acting like I should have strong reads at this stage, and I don't.
Looking forward to your reads list expanding on this stuff. I'm curious about the waffly-ness on the Psyche read.
(I second the thing about AD though, heh.)
I guess again a better way to put it is I'll decide whether to tunnel the shit out of you until you die today, or do that later instead. Which is probably still egotistical but in a more grounded-in-reality sort of way.In post 187, Shinobi wrote:And, with 9 other players here, I highly doubt you determine the lynch here today. What an egotistical thing to think. Rofl.- Rubicon

Also hey Psyche, what's the deal with this. You unvoting doesn't match what you were saying in the post you unvoted and you seem to have people you want to lynch. so, uh?In post 226, pieguyn wrote:Not Voting (1) - Psyche- Rubicon

^ scumIn post 332, Aronis wrote:You don't understand how depressing it is to be scheduled to die, it's like: Yeah, whatever, I really don't care.
Because I've been 'scheduled to die' before in games when my lynch was mechanically beneficial to town. My reaction was to do everything in my power to drive conversation and hunt down the scum while I was still able to post, to set town up for a win following my death. This is you saying your death is a big enough blow to your win condition that you've given up. Thanks for doing that, I guess.- Rubicon

I was wondering because you, as jester, would need to make sure we didn't lynch him tomorrow once you realized you were unlikely to be lynched today. In post 352, Xayzeck wrote:
Low info lynch imo?In post 350, Rubicon wrote:Xayzeck: What are your current thoughts about if/when Aronis should be lynched?
He is the safest lynch, but I'm not sure he helps town much with the flip?
Maybe if he flips scum Hiraki could be scum with him, because he got off pretty quick
The plan you tried to casually slip in about lynching you today...- Rubicon

Why are we talking about me and not you?In post 337, Rubicon wrote:Hiraki, let's talk about your read wall. Have any of those reads changed since you posted it? Which ones and why? That seems like a good jumping off point.
I might actually be able to read you better if you ask me questions instead, so go for it.- Rubicon

Shinobi was town or jester imo, and I wanted to see how he'd react to me & AD saying we'd never lynch him. He seemed to like it, so maybe not jester. In post 349, Rubicon wrote:

I think ZZZX is the jester. Because of Aronis, the jester deadline is essentially today, coming pretty soon according to the deadline clock above. So if we find ourselves strongly wanting to lynch a certain player, and that player is making no real effort to avoid it?
If ZZZX isn't the jester, than we have to ask who the actual jester is, since they should be trying to get themselves lynched today. The only person resisting the ZZZX lynch is ActionDan, and only barely.- Rubicon
