2 problems with your "gambit" salamance.

1) as a gambit its really ineffective. there are way better ways for you to test 2 reads. you would know that doing that kind of gambit, you would likely get lynched during the game one way or another, so I doubt its legit.

2) I can see Avon Barksdale being a fake claim scum has. I can't see Avon Barksdale being a VT. He's the king, he would almost certainly be a PR.

here's what's bugging me though. Say we lynch DBG. Then we get 2 "masons". Then scum proceeds to kill 1 and the neighborhood is effectively useless.

why would the neighborhood agree to being outed so early?
Unless this is a plan to:
a) quickly reduce the lynch pool by unveiling the neighborhood
b) claim the neighborhood in a way that won't be under suspicion for claiming early by putting all the focus on a single person

If the neighborhood is the scum team, it will become very obvious as they will be nk targets since they wouldn't be lynched.

Maybe about Wallace, but I was thinking D'Angelo if we had a traitor. And given the speed of yesterday I sure don't see a reason to rush, especially now that your claim is out there.

The fact he was thinking about traitors beforehand can be credited to how much he likes the Wire. When he received his town PM he looked at it and saw how his role made sense with his character name so thought about all the characters in the game and what roles they could be not just Traitors! The reason DGB HAD to be a traitor and not just a regular member of the scumteam is because of his indepth flavor knowledge. He knew beyond doubt that the mod would never have put Wallace as anything other than a traitor. I am sure he also figured out while thinking about characters roles that Avon would be a VT.

If only someone could have explained this to me it has taken me so long to figure it out.

yeah so part of my scum read on you is thor-like logic. for all this bluster and confidence in your ability to correctly read and analyze the players here you haven't been able to lynch a single scum. and while your arguments sound well thought out, they lack a specific focus. You're shooting down certain pushes, but not offering a concrete direction that town should go in. Your offense is scattershot, you have a pool of players that are "lynchable" but no one in particular seems to stand out. This reads scum since the high number of suggested scum lynches clogs the town up. High number of lynchable people => no clear target for town => stalled game => high likelihood of mislynch

Much as I LOVE to present myself as being a competent scumhunter in-thread, post-game I'm ALWAYS humble for good reason and highlight in just how many ways I tended to be wrong. This game in particular I know I'll have plenty for. That being said, will probably have better bearings when someone I actually want lynched is lynched. They don't have to even flip scum, though obviously that'd be preferable. Players getting lynched I don't want lynched gives me speculation about wagon formation. Scumdriven lynch wagons, for instance. Players getting lynched I advocated the lynching of gives me hard information, town or scum and EXACTLY what the wagons mean.

Frankly, as a vig it'd be tempting to not shoot at all, but I'm sort-of thinking you're asking about the possibility of an even-night vig which would be a specific role, and if I got that, I'd of course think that I'm supposed to shoot using it and would take a shot. Who, I dunno, my largest scumread maybe? Perhaps my second-largest if I thought the scum were onto me being a vig. I'd have to check what my reads were D2 to see, but from memory the player that profile would fit would be Bookittty, yet once zMuffinman replaced in, I'd have avoided shooting him, and shot elsewhere. So whoever my second/third scumreads were. Xisi, SKOT, think it'd probably have been one of them.

I'm a 2-shot vig. Given the ways both day 1 and day 2 went, I decided to use my vig shots to catch up town since both lynches ended up being non-informative for town.

Night 1, I shot PV. This is also why I spent day 2 pushing people who were questioning his death.

Night 2, I shot Bookitty. This is one reason why I was skeptical of Vezok being town. Since Bookitty was the most likely lynch, I figured if that slot was scum then it would be protected. You'll notice that Bookitty/Muffin is very alive in this game. Does this add anything to how you think about Muffin?

I'm a glorified VT now. I had basically no suspicion on me anyways, so its not like I become any more or less of a target. And if scum kills me over Ven/Majiffy, then thats a win for town.
