We'll see AGar!
~~
Now I don't really know how I'm going to catch up any more than any of you do at this point, but I'm thinking I'll just read through the thread and maybe comment on things and maybe have reads at the end? It can be a surprise for all of us.
Spoiler: Not very useful stuff
~~
Ok I'm mostly done with my read and no longer feel like quoting for some reason, so there you go.
↑ implosion wrote:AGar, Malakittens, Aneninen, phokdapolees, rack, myself. This is the group that I don't have much interest in looking into today. I have no interest whatsoever in looking at AGar or Malakittens. Then comes rack, then Anen and phok.
Oso, chaoslord54, shaddowez, tman2nd, Elias_the_thief. At this point, I want to say 2/5 scum.
This post will probably serve mostly as a reminder to the me of a few days from now in the event that I get caught up in real world shenanigans and forget where I was.
I mostly agree here, but I'm actually quite comfortable removing tman2d from the lynch pile, obviously removing myself, and Anen is probably the one from your townlist that I feel least confident in, but he's not in my scumlist either.
~~
Ok, I'm all caught up. I think scum are among Oso, chaoslord54 and shaddowez. I need to reread ISOs to make sure of my townreads and I will explain why I think tman2nd is town too. My first choice between the aforementioned three is chaoslord because I am conflicted on shaddowez and Oso doesn't give me major scumvibes (while chaos kind of does). This stuff will happen either later tonight if I'm up for it or tomorrow.- DeasVail

You know what, I'll do at least some of it now. First, I'm just going to go through my townreads and what I feel most makes them town. If they're a wide a townread, I'll probably be quite minimal.
AGar: Pushed Flames wagon from start to end. No other problems with him. Generally quite town. Cool.
Malakittens: First to say she didn't believe neil's claim. If she was willing to be so bus-heavy as scum I think she would have actually gotten on the wagon. 392 would have to be very clever to come from scum. Possible, but unlikely. 413 feels unlikely to come from scum due to fear of being accused of lining up lynches.
Implosion: His vote made the difference between Flames being AGar's scumread and being an actual wagon. Concerns relating to neil's alignment come across as genuine, because if scum he's already decided to bus. There is no point in scum-implosion unvoting and pondering about the lynch when it doesn't do anything to change the lynch target and may cause others to suspect him after the flip.
Phok: Voting for Tammy after AGar & implosion express high confidence in her being town is brave for scum, but probably doesn't achieve much at all. His reaction to criticisms of his 98 make me townread him since he kind of clearly doesn't care. Also Flames' push of him is a +.
Tman2nd: I thought he was quite viable scum for a long time, but this all changes with 344. If tman2nd is scum with neil, there is no point in unvoting. The townies are dead-set on his lynch at this stage, there is no real reason to believe that he won't be lynched. It only draws attention that scum would not want. For town though, who don't know neil's alignment, it's totally reasonable and makes sense.
Rack: Never thought he was scum really. Reaction test thing is totally crazy and therefore more likely from town imo.
~~
Aneninen: Slightly weaker townread than the others but still a townread. I find his personality makes it difficult to assess his alignment as he sometimes does things that I usually would find scummy, but I suspect that these may be more of a personality thing than anything else. Most concerning for me is the part I quoted earlier from 212, because why say that people should keep an eye on you if you're town? Seems more likely scum would say it just to appear reasonable. However, Aneninen often does things such as call his own posts weak, so I question the validity of my point. His vote on Flames comes a little early, but not too early for scum. However, the call-out for cop counterclaims after neil's own claim, this being after negative responses to the claim, just feels way out there for scum, and is the main reason why I townread this slot despite my concerns.
~~
Shaddowez: Mostly a PoE read. His play in regards to flames/neil is nothing beyond scum as far as I can see. The main thing holding me back though, as silly as it may sound, is 21. Notice the similarity in style of RVS to flames, while everyone else is different. I feel scum may make more effort to do something different from a buddy, but I consider this point quite weak after some thought. I didn't notice anything scummy in particular during my read-through, but I haven't reviewed the most recent case on him properly and will read his own posts more deeply tomorrow.
Oso: Nothing that's really town about him, but nothing all that scummy either? It's really hard to say for me, as his posts are quite odd at times. Another I will need to look further into.
Chaoslord: His read progression on the neill/flames scumslot seems pretty unnatural as well as being likely to be what scum would do there imo. He starts off thinking flames is town, ignores the flames wagon until specifically asked, where he then makes an awkward wishy-washy post not really saying anything but trying not to get Flames lynched 256. However, in 339 he then goes into 'bus my buddy' mode and despite quite strongly townreading flames, he lets nothing get in the way of his new 'scumread', which I feel is unrealistic for town, but matches scum that has decided neill is going down.
Reads are still a bit shonky in parts (Oso in particular), but hopefully this will be fixed soon. I'm not going to vote yet because I need to look further into Oso and Shaddowez, but chaoslord is my preferred lynch right now.- DeasVail

Hi Mala, I haven't played much recently, and have replaced in even less, but here are the most recent games I can think of:
Mini 1509 - Scum
Song Contest U-Pick - Town
If you want a third one, then you'll have to go back over a year.- DeasVail

Ok, I have reviewed Oso and Shaddowez, as well as the cases on each.
I am still not picking up much alignment wise from Oso's slot, so he remains with my scumreads.
There's nothing that new with Shaddowez either, but I would pick him as scum over Oso right now.
Chaoslord is still who I think is most likely to be scum.
Vote: Chaoslord54- DeasVail

Unvote: Chaoslord
Vote: Shaddowez
This is the new path of light and rainbows and happiness!
Yeah, I don't really want to lynch him today now. Sorry.
Nooo, don't make me doubt my townread on you. I think it's still intact, but this kind of post gives me the tingles! To seriously answer your question, if I'm already up to date on the game, I'll often look through player ISOs and try and determine whether posts/phrases/actions come from a scum mindset or a town mindset. Sometimes I have a lot of difficulty with this though, and I'm not a great player, so go with whatever works for you. That's just what I try and do I guess.
~~
My vote on Shaddowez is not really due to anything extra that Shaddowez has done, but more because I've become unsure of Chaos after looking through his posting again with Shaddowez being the next best bet.- DeasVail

I'll want to wait for ZZZX before I make any judgements about the slot, but all I want to say is that I've become cautious. As for shaddowez, it's still mostly PoE, but I liked implosion's case and I also feel that Shaddowez being the only townread of Flames from 152 that I could see being scum implicates him somewhat. This is because I think less experienced scum would try to sneak a buddy into their townreads. BPC is the other vote I'm considering and I will probably wait for more posts from him, but I have the tendency to be paranoid there. My guess at the moment is that he's scum, but I can't really tell yet.
↑ shaddowez wrote:So I haven't done anything, but I'm your second best bet on being scum? I'd like to point out that this vote came after me reading your slot as scum, and saying you haven't done anything to change that mind. On that same note, the rest of this post doesn't really do anything to do so either. There's more words without saying much.
(This post is short because it's primarily a prod dodge, will post again tomorrow)
I've already expressed the opinion that you were the second best bet for scum. You were in the top 3 as early as 488 and undeniably second in 496, yet you only have a problem with it now that I'm voting for you.
Don't worry too much about catching up. Just go from here and if you ever feel like it you can read back a bit.- DeasVail

↑ BipolarChemist wrote:Oh and DV, come on. Buddy, come on. I'm town, you're probably town, let's just work together, okay? We can do this! Let's start with your feelings on Malakittens, please! You say some things she does doesn't feel like scum, but do you think she's town at all?
I'll consider it. <3
And regarding Malakittens, those are the same thing as far as I'm concerned.- DeasVail

↑ BipolarChemist wrote:Hmmm. Was there anything that jumped out at you about her being town?
488 covers most of my current thoughts on her.
I actually like the line you quote from tman. It doesn't do anything to make Tammy a more likely lynch, but it also attracts negative attention. So, essentially, it contradicts the scum agenda while being something town could quite easily think, at least in my opinion.

Still happy with shaddowez vote and general progression of the game. Really keen for more posts from ZZZX though.- DeasVail

↑ BipolarChemist wrote:I was asking you because of 488. I see reasons for why scum wouldn't do that, but she seems fairly experienced to me. Sooo I ask again, anything that jumped out as specifically town?

Why the grumbling?
I'm pretty sure it's been established that I don't find you incredibly scummy. You are just the least town for me right now.
↑ shaddowez wrote:Flames had the following people in his townlist - AGar, Elias, myself, Tammy, and Mala. AGar has been a solid townread by everyone, Tammy had already flipped, and he's not going to point to himself as scum, so that leads to him being able to make this case against me or Mala. At this point, I already have votes on me, making me the easy target.
Why do I need to go after an easy target? If I were buddies with BPC/Oso, it would've made more sense for me to stick with my chaos/ZZZX vote. If I were buddies with chaos/ZZZX, it would've made more sense for me to focus on Oso. If I'm buddies with you, then what on earth am I doing? The problem with your claim that I'm going for the easy target is that the only reason I'd need to go for an easy target is if my scumbuddy was in danger, and if that was the case, you would not have been the ideal target for me as scum at the time.- DeasVail

Are you referring to BPC and me? If so, it's either because BPC is scum and I'm paranoid of him, or because we're both town and paranoid of each other. I am cautiously holding off on a decision there for the time being.- DeasVail

Well I would probably do that as scum yeah, but here it is because I actually think it.
To anyone that wants to know the reason:
BPC's best bet as scum is probably just to buddy me and it would probably work, and he might be able to have me lynched with other people suspecting me anyway. Light suspicion thrown my way would also work with this, and is what I'd probably expect from him as scum. Here though, he starts off townreading me (which fits the expected scum-BPC strat), but is now voting for me. This doesn't make much sense from him as scum. In his mind, it would likely only encourage me to suspect him (I'm not sure he would have predicted this response from me).
The only plausible reason for him to vote me as scum, is in an effort to save his buddy Shaddowez. However, even this I find unlikely due to how conspicuous it would feel to scum, being the only two on a town wagon.
So, I think BPC is town. If he has fooled me, well done to him.
And I'm town too.- DeasVail

I thought I was the only one who scumread BPC. And now I've seen that both MalaKitty and Phokdapolees calls him a possible scum. Have I skimmed over something? Or have these scumreads just come out of nowhere?
Oso was a pretty popular scumread!
Oh I think you're scum. I have never stopped thinking that you're scum. There is just nothing in particular I can point to in your posts that I think indicates scum. This is not incredibly surprising to me since scum are often quite actively trying not to look scummy. Sometimes they might succeed! However, I have much stronger reasons to think everyone else town (except for maybe ZZZX) than I do for you, so my conclusion at the moment is that you're scum doing a good job of avoiding posting scummy things.
~~
I would very happily go back to ZZZX but I need ZZZX to post. It's important.- DeasVail
