You have to send her your last 5 completed games, she'll review them, then send you an email about being an IC, and then put you in as an IC. This process sometimes takes a little bit.

Sorry to worry you! I haven't got a chance to review your games yet--in general, I only add people to the IC queue after they've been approved, to prevent the awkwardness of having to remove them for whatever reason.

I also love helping new players. I'm not new to Mafia but I'm new to Mafiascum.

I'm not a newbie newb buit I am a rookie. I'd say I've played about 15 games of Mafia.

One of the firm rules on site is that you can only talk about an ongoing game in the game thread or any PT the game's moderator creates for the game. Talking about an ongoing game anywhere else is forbidden. It keeps games from being compromised by mistake.

I think I should be in a game by now because i applied on page 258 as a newbie pretty soon after the Newbie 1770 players and before most of the Newbie 1771 players. Also, it says on the first page for me to look for a PM, but i haven't gotten any PMs at all.

From what I can see, you'll almost certainly be put in a game as soon as Mina puts another couple games out. We control our newbie games very closely here and part of that falls on Mina to ensure that the game mods and ICs are going to ensure a good experience where you can learn the game (if you are completely new) and learn the basics of how we play on site. She appears to be pretty busy as the update on the 2nd post showing the current queue still doesn't reflect my /in to IC x2 and my /in to mod x2 from a couple pages back.

She'll get to it soon! Perhaps I'll be your mod or IC. In any case, be looking for a PM in the next 24-36 hours I should think. Have fun!

(Just curious what's the general time commitment for a game? I know that in total games can take a month or more to complete but what's the general amount of time I should try to spend daily as a player?)

The pace of the game will dictate that to some extent. As long as you post every day, you're not going to be hurting the game. Generally the more you can post (as long as you aren't just posting filler), the better experience you and others will have. Your goal should be to get your thoughts (or faux thoughts if you are scum) into the game about anything notable that arises.

It's totally okay to experiment and play with it though. Don't worry and just have fun with it!
