Apologies for my lateness, I've been nonstop for the past few days.
/confirm
If not for the Knuckles hydra featuring Nachomamma8, I don't think I would know any of the other players.
VOTE: grapes
Why are you not more descriptive with your name? Are you red? Are you green? Are you sour? Do you make a specific wine? I need answers.
Despite his post, I'm still neutral on Pepto. I need more info/posts by him before I can ascertain either way.<3 Kise, Reck, dram, tans, & Kats <3- Starbuck

Excellent.

So this is a time when signing as who is talking is important.
Oh, ffery! Hi! Nice to meet you!
This is my first game back on site in like 2 1/2 years, so I may be a bit rusty. Has massclaim become a normal tactic on Day 1?<3 Kise, Reck, dram, tans, & Kats <3- Starbuck

I disagree. I don't see the point of giving scum the 1, 2 lineup on village. I'm actually more concerned about those bullying for claims, than those refusing to give.

Davsto's 110 and 112 feel slighty white-knighty to me. First, he says that he dislikes the way Xtoxm went about conducting the massclaim and sticks to a scumlean. Then he distances himself from that by saying that he sees the votes on Xtoxm as an easy and scum-driven wagon.
So which is it, Davsto? Are the folks voting for Xtoxm scummy or is Xtoxm, himself, scummy?
And there we get a supposed davig on grapes from Knuckles. Why grapes over any others?<3 Kise, Reck, dram, tans, & Kats <3- Starbuck

Apologies, I've had a busy past few days and you guys added a ton to the game.
Catching up starting at mid-page 7....
With the talk on ASP, I felt he was more inactive than scummy. If he's going to be this inactive, though, and with these shortened days, it may be a benefit to lynch him now.
Knuckles wrote:Quote one game where a player whose MO wasn't asking for massclaims regardless of alignment managed to out a bunch of claims and then dominated as scum.
Not knowing this guy's MO, it was still a scummy move imho. Since I started playing mafia (even before playing here), I try to keep each day as a separate entity because I feel that people can/will change up their play.
↑ Aj The Epic wrote:I've taken a year and a half off, give me some time to relearn the game.
Tell me about it.
Xtoxm wrote:i'd look more at one of the sheepers in Starbuck/ASP.
Other than the fact that you're perturbed by your wagon, how exactly am I sheeping when I made my feelings known without regard to any other player? All I'm seeing you do in 189 is just say that those on your wagon are scummy because we are on your wagon. No other real reasoning.
Really, dude?
Well, it's good to see some activity from you after this.

This is what I was thinking, too.
↑ Knuckles wrote:Xtoxm - I think that his "let's massclaim" "I was lying about my role btw" is something that's very very unlikely to be coming from scum, I guess I can get into this if need be but I don't really think it's something scum does. Like his immediate unvote of our slot and then pushback on our reads, and I like his expressed excitement about the game getting interesting. This is by far my strongest townread so it's the type of read I'm pretty surprised that people don't see; let me know if I need to make a big post explaining my reasoning in depth here.
I don't know. I think that could work both directions. He could seriously just be Trojan Horsing us one. However, I can't deny that you may be right and I could be wrong.
UNVOTE: Xtoxm
I know you were on about Nosferatu, but I would have much rather seen you bomb ASP over Nosferatu. That's kinda disappointing and he had a pretty epic role, too.
Ahh, my unvote doesn't matter because we get reset and why am I not surprised that the first person to vote for me is Xtoxm? Follow by Knuckles? Much disappoint.<3 Kise, Reck, dram, tans, & Kats <3- Starbuck

I'm still fairly uncertain of Davsto and it concerns me that he has been the loudest voice for an ASP lynch from the start. I'm slightly worried that he could have gotten saddled with a lazy scumpartner, and is doing his best to bus/distance.
On the opposite, ASP hasn't been here to really contribute or prove this meta wrong. We're getting so close to deadline that he may be our best candidate for today.<3 Kise, Reck, dram, tans, & Kats <3- Starbuck

I'm glad you finally asked because I'm sure you can go back into my extensive history on site and see that I usually don't participate in the listing of town/scum on Day 1. Given how short Day 1 is in this game, and the fact that I haven't played on MS for almost two and a half years, it's taking me a little longer to get back in the swing of things. You could have just asked me from the get go, though, instead of the way that you just went about it.
So as of right now......
A Simple Plan - TBD, I hate lurkers.
Sound of Silence- town
Vedith - leaning scum
Davsto - leaning scum
Knuckles - nullish but leaning town, in the past it's always been hard for me to read Nachomamma, now that she's in a hydra, it's even tougher
Xtoxm - null
Dongempire - null
grapes - null
Peptobislawl - null

If it wouldn't be considered OMGUS, grapes, for one, because of his sudden tunnel that came out of the blue. Knowing my own alignment, I can't help but think he's just trying to either buddy up or trying to help his buddies push a case so that there won't be a scumflip.
Other than him, I'm still not a fan of Davsto. I don't really care for how he replied when I questioned him, as he completely beat around the bush and did everything but answer my question. He hasn't impressed me whatsoever.

A bit of pressure brings out alignment. unfortunately I don't have the time (or desire really) to meta you to find out for certain
Is there more to these reads? If you've given thoughts before just link posts or w/e.
You don't need pressure to ask a question. That's what I'm saying. If you outright wanted to know where my thoughts on current players are, all you had to do was ask. Instead, you went about using it to try and garner a flimsy case on me. If you don't have the answer, and you never asked to begin with, how can I know what information that you want to see? I don't. I'm not a mind reader. So using that to try and paint me as scum is scummy in, and of, itself.
You don't have to explain the game to me either. I know how mafia works. I comprehend that townreads are fundamental, but just because I didn't outright list every player in the game and give my reads doesn't make me scum or scummy. There's plenty of folks who haven't done that either and I don't see you tunneling them. You didn't even look at me until my wagon started.
As for Vedith and Davsto, you can look a few posts up for my thoughts on them.
On SoS and Aj, they are of the very few that seem to be legitimately scumhunting and not jumping all over to opportunistic wagons. I understand pressure needs to happen (which is why I placed my vote on ASP in hopes that his wagon would bring him back around), but neither of them are tunneling, making up ridiculous cases with no footing, or sheeping about.<3 Kise, Reck, dram, tans, & Kats <3- Starbuck

So you're trying to case that all of the below, including the vote, isn't a case?
↑ grapes wrote:isod starbuck and yea i could lynch that
she hasn't given any townreads, which feels pretty off
and yea i'll get flack for this but i got super beetlejuice vibes from her showing up directly after the dayvig and got a couple votes
like, it'd be another story if she had an outstanding super town catch up but it was pretty lackluster imo - just a lot of empty comments and like no hard stances taken, in particular didn't like the super waffle on ASP (who to anyone paying attention to the gamestate is pretty much the likeliest wagon to get traction right now)
↑ grapes wrote:And I don't sense any real resistance to ASP, at all, though. Which worries me some. Yea I was enthusiastic about it earlier but I'm more meh on him now.
Like he hasn't even responded to the prod so it's not like he's thread dodging.
On the other hand I feel some invisible resistance to starbuck. In the form of not many peeps talking about her among other things.
VOTE: starbuck
Subject to change I guess. Like I said I'll be around. It's pretty dependent on her response to me at the end of the day, though.

Without dwelling on the semantics of this. No, that's not what I did at all.
Thinking you're scummy for not giving any townreads up till that point in the game and then asking for your thoughts are two different things. One is pushing you and the other is trying to get a better read on you.

This is why I don't like this new "we must list our reads" schtick and why I was reluctant to share. I knew it was going to get used against me on (1) the sheer fact that this is my first game back on site after 2 years and (2) I don't know any of this player list save for half of one of the hydras. So yeah, it's going to take me a bit to feel things back out. Hence, a ton of null reads.
I don't know where I was reluctant to engage?

So I needed to go back and work out the conclusion that every has come to.
At the end of Day 1, dongempire said...
Whoever he targeted, he prevents their actions, but also redirected any actions to that person onto himself.
Davsto says he targeted Vedith, which means that if he did target Vedith, then dongempire died in his place since Vedith is saying that he didn't have a BP to target himself.
Vedith says that he healed Xtoxm, instead of giving a vest. Further explanation in #539. We don't know if that action went through because there's not usually confirmation of receipt.
So correct me if I'm wrong, I needed to see the info all together for some better comprehension, the thought is that Knuckles was redirected to kill dong, which could mean that dong targeted someone that he felt was likely to be town and protected them, he targeted Dav and stopped his shot all together, or Dav was RB'd by Pepto/Fire?<3 Kise, Reck, dram, tans, & Kats <3- Starbuck
