Introduction

Mini Themes

are games that can have 9 to 13 players and are played in Coney Island. Games are considered themed when they meet at least one of the following criteria:

A)

Are non-Normal via either game mechanics and/or roles.

B)

Flavor is a major component of the game.

C)

The game is experimental in design or has not been reviewed for normalcy. This queue is for players and Moderators of Mini Themes. If you have any questions about any game in the queue or in progress, please PM me.

Blitzes

are a special sub-set of theme games that meet the criteria above, and have additional criteria and designation. Blitz games are explicitly games with short day and night deadlines, with a maximum of 96 hours for day deadlines, and 36 hours for night deadlines. Blitz games are also labeled as such within the mafia nomenclature.

Players

Signing Up:

Please post in this thread indicating which game you’d like to join. There will be up to two games in the queue at a time. You need to specify which game you are signing up for (I.E. “/in for Bone’s game” or “/in for Godfather mafia”).

A non-specific “/in” or “/in for next” will be ignored.

Furthermore any attempt to sign-up for a game not currently in the queue will also be ignored. Finally, if it is not obvious who the players inside a hydra account are when they sign up, they will also be ignored. Contact the Game Moderator of the upcoming game if you wish to pre-in.

Player Requirements:

There is no experience requirement to play in a Mini Theme. However, Game Moderators have the right to impose any restrictions, and may deny any sign-up at their discretion, within reason.

Game Limits:

Each player can be active in a total of only four Mini games (Normal and/or Theme) at a time. Hydras and alt accounts count toward this limit. While it's helpful to keep track of this yourself, the Mini Normal/Theme List Moderators have a list, and we can let you know. If a player dies in an ongoing game, that player is considered released and is free to sign up for another.

Order of Players:

Players will be added to a game's sign-up list in the order in which they have signed up, first come first served. Players who sign up for a game but then decide to change their status to a hydra will be treated as if they /outed a game and then signed back up...even if doing so would bump that player from the game. This is to prevent players from being able to jump the line in a full or nearly full game.

Post-Game Surveys:

Players may be contacted after a Mini Theme game has ended for their feedback regarding the game and the moderator(s). Participation is voluntary, and only summary data will be made available to users. If you wish to opt out of all surveys, please PM me.

Game Moderators

Experience Requirements:

To sign up to moderate a Mini Theme, you must have successfully moderated one Mini Normal or Open Game. If you have experience moderating on other sites, you may request those games to count as your game of experience; please contact mith. You must still have been active on the site for at least three months and have completed at least one Mafia game.

Other Requirements:

Potential Game Moderators can only be in one Mini or Open Queue at a time. Game Moderators must wait until the game they are moderating runs to completion before rejoining a queue. Moderators are also limited to the number of games they are able to run at a time. A Moderator can only run one game in the Open or Mini queues at a time. cults, mid-game alignment changes, moderator lies that cannot be reasonably anticipated (for example, Godfather, Tailor, Miller, Ninja, and mechanics like that are generally fine. Telling someone they are a reflexive doctor when they're actually a PGO is not), secret win conditions, un-divulged non-randomness in player role/alignment generation, direct moderator influence during the game

Pre-in Limits:

You may fill your player list with up to half, rounded down, or pre-inned players. Please remind any players who have a pre-in to confirm in this queue.

Sign-Up Time Limit:

Games that have not filled within 21 days of beginning sign-ups will be pulled from the queue. Games that are close will be given extra time at my discretion.

Co-Mod/Back-Up Mods:

Having a qualified Co-Mod or Back-up Mod is not required but strongly recommended. Qualified Co-Mods and Back-up Mods must meet the modding requirements for the Mini Theme queue as well. Looking for a Mod? Check out THIS THREAD. If you do not have a qualified Co-Mod or Back-up Mod I will request via PM all of the information for your game.

Game Reviews:

Having your game reviewed is not required but strongly recommended. Game Moderators who wish to utilize the private topic feature in order to facilitate this can contact me to set one up. When advertising, moderators should only cite reviewers who have explicitly approved the final version of the setup.

Game Threads:

Game Moderators will have 72 hours from the time I have confirmed the player list, game number, and given Coney Island access to start the topic for their games. Game Moderators should begin the game within a reasonable amount of time, if more than 10 days go by without starting the game will be considered abandoned.

Filled Games:

Once a game has been filled the playerlist will be locked, and no further additions will be allowed (unless someone drops out before the playerlist is released). Please allow up to 24-48 hours for the playerlist to be released.

Communications:

Please respond to any PMs I send you at your earliest convenience. If I do go more than a week without hearing from you, you will be at risk from being bumped from the queue for another Game Moderator who is ready.

Welcome to the new Mini Theme Queue!

Hey I'm T-Bone and I shall be your Captain for the foreseeable future. Please keep your hands and feet inside the thread at all times. The emergency exits are located at both the top left and bottom right of this page. Please do not block the aisle. If this thread loses air pressure oxygen masks may be deployed. Also please note some new changes to the Mini Theme Queue!

1.

Moderators will now be asked to fill out a form and post it in this thread when signing up to moderate a game. The form is similar to the forms in other queues but please check it over. Those who are already signed up to moderate a game from the previous queue are grandfathered into the program, but I would strongly encourage you to fill out the form and reply to the thread with it anyway!

1a.

On that note we are asking game moderators to decide in advance whether they will allow hydras or not. Game moderators can change their minds at any time. The purpose of this is to help users who do not wish to play in games with hydras find games.

2.

Micro sized games (8 players or less) will no longer be run in Coney Island. Previously players were allowed to run those size games here for a fraction of the moderation experience. Please check out the Micro Queue to run those types of games. Not many micro sized games were being run in this queue anyway so it shouldn't affect too many people.

3.

If you have any questions or concerns you can always send me a message. Equinox will still be shadowing the queue for a few more days in case players or game moderators need to talk to her specifically.

4.
