I learned a little from a guy named DarthPunk from TLmafia who's played in Mafia Championships somewhere or other. He's a friend of a friend and we've played some video games together. I think you might be overrating my ability anyway, I'm not that good imo.In post 75, Raskolnikov wrote:Okay you're scary.

I see you literally massacre in like your 1st newbie game as scum.

Thus my comment.
Neither because you could have missed the rule with either alignment.
^^ fixed version of post 71.
Don't know how that happened.
Ninja 1: Cool, think you could help me get in contact? I think I could really do with some guidance.
Not sure. I know on TLMafia they do "sheep" games. Basically you can play like a Hydra, except you don't play - you just get to share a PT with a player in the game, where you can ask them why they're playing how they are and they'll try and talk you through their processes and why they play that way. I've never done that though.
I think the most useful thing I did was "blind read" a bunch of Mafia Championships games. Without looking at any alignments, I would read through a completed game and try to pick scum/town based off interactions. At the end of each day I'd try to guess who was going to flip what. Then for "Night" I'd pretend I was a cop and do fake Cop checks. I'd record who I checked and then when I'd finished reading through the game I'd check to see how accurate my reads were and how effective my Cop checks were.
Also if I ever saw players whose thought patterns I could understand or I thought were the type of personality I could emulate, I'd not their name and read through their filter and maybe even dive their games on their home forum. So I guess I've become a sort of mish-mash of good players, and I just try out a bunch of stuff and keep what works for me. It makes it easy because when I run into a situation I'm not familiar with I can refer to my experiences and think, "okay well player X was in this situation and they tried to...." - I can try it myself, see what happens, see why it does or doesn't work for me and what other situations I could do it.
But I really wanna stress that I'm still very new and I'd hesitantly call myself AVERAGE at the game, not good or bad.

But in all honesty I think it's just scummy to discredit the value of early game in general. It's actually a vital part of the game and very useful to re-read because the interactions there, the scum haven't had time to adapt to what suits the particular town they're playing with. Late game scum interactions are really hard to re-read because they're all wifom. It's scumgame to devalue early game.- rb

The scum you're talking about there, I assume, tried to use their statement to make excuses or ignore valid evidence. That's certainly not what I'm doing here. I'm using it to argue against IPS's reasoning which doesn't really make sense.
And of course, expression suspicion is questionable...- rb

LQ is legit just goofy. I know him from off-site. Only seen him play 2 mafia games but I think this is just LQ being LQ and he hasn't done much to show himself as either alignment. Tbh I thought Aristophanes was scum because his constant, "I'm catching up! Wow fast game!" in a game that isn't even going fast was pretty scummy. I dunno who to vote right now because no one is jumping out. Or rather, there's like 5-6 people who are playing somewhat weak, a few lurkers and then there's Naomi-tan and Infinity.
I've decided that Infinity is playing good whether he's scum or town at this point and I'm going to townread him again because in games full of weak/lurky play scum will rarely paint a target on themselves by being a strong player. Feels more like he's trying to carry town or something.- rb

Yes I think there's quite a few people playing a weak game atm. That's not meant as an insult to people, don't take it that way. I mean weak as in being neither readable nor pressuring others into interacting. It's probably more accurate to say their impact on the game is weak, rather than they're playing weak.In post 332, Raskolnikov wrote:Yes first link is supposed to be http://forum.mafiascum.net/viewtopic.ph ... 9#p7924457

defending VT vs wagon.
But like man I'm actually weirded out reading aristoscum meta. Usually looking when you know alignments it's like "oh of course its so obvious" because you look from that frame of reference but in this I keep seeing things which are usually towntells ewww.
That automagical appearance tho. Aristo you don't contest any of the meta points?
Seriously am I being fucked with? I make a case on how he tends to townread easily and excessively plus buddy people as scum and he responds calling my case the most beautiful one he ever saw and helps with the broken link. Smh the irony (of course from a guy named aristophanes too)- rb

Also if you havent done so yet you should probably read the Iso from her last game Mini 1625: Redemption (Game Over)
If we exclude Naomi Infinity and you we have 10 players. We have Aristo, DGB and Darynth that can be considered lurking or not playing.
So saying 5-6 weak players means you consider almost everyone else playing somewhat weak is that correct?
My opinion is that Naomi is town and I like her play.- rb

1. Rask basically wrote my scum meta to a T there. I didn't realize it was what I was doing, but so be it. His scumread is perfectly legitimate and natural if you ask me.
2. I dislike the shade you're throwing his way in that post. You don't ask him questions, just lob things at him that he can't really defend against. Why is that your approach here??
2) Call it throwing shade if you want to i just stated my opinion. If you say he cant defend against that doesnt that mean you think that i am correct?
Also saying xyz is aktive in his other games could be considered as the same you are accusing me of (throwing shade you cant defend against)
Its my approach because i didnt like his approach as i stated in my post he should have contributed instead of stalikng inaktive players.- rb

Or maybe they're intending to not give lurkerscum a free pass. Lurkerscum wins a lot of games because some people go, "OHH BUT POLICY LYNCHES ARE BADDDDDD" and then you lose to some shitter not even playing. I'd rather not lose to some not-even-playing slot tyvm.In post 358, Manuel87 wrote:In my opinion activity stalking means you are looking for someone you can throw shade on.
Posting in other threads or being online doesnt necessarily mean you are lurking.
Take me for example yesterday i had the gamethread opened the whole day at work but i couldnt read anything because of meetings and other stuff.
Now take the same situation while you are active in 2 or 3 games. You want to read everything before you write a response to something at least i would want to.
That takes time now you have 3 games to catch up on and you may not manage all 3 games so instead of playing all of them halfassed you decide to concentrate on the ones further into the game.
True ppl could actually just be lurking but i like that players get replaced after their 3rd prod so i doubt ppl would deliberately get prodded just to lurk for a little longer.
Thats also why i only play one game at a time because there are days i cant manage to read at all. - rb
