Maybe he likes playing scum more and was actually trying for that reason.

Or maybe he just wants to try this game for whatever reason.

I'm probably not gonna try to read someone based exclusively on their volume and yall shouldn't either.

It's been almost a full day and they haven't posted.

If someone doesn't post for the first day, more often than not, it's a sign of them trying to lurk out of RVS
So you mean to tell me if I checked games and did the math I would find that more than half of Players who don't post within 24 hours are scum?

Boy this game must seem really easy if you think everything is that simple.

Honestly if a scum can't navigate the oh so difficult waters that is trying to act like a human being when no one is even scum hunting maybe they should try a different game.

I am willing to bet intentionally lurking through RVS is something that pretty much never happens

Lurking/Wanting to avoid RVS != scum

I'm simply saying that some people lurk out of RVS

Actually, it's not. I was implying that you were scum.

Your post was too dumb to earn a response. I didn't see the point in going back and forth about it and cluttering up the thread with, well, <I'm gonna delete the rest of this sentence in the interest of not being a dick.>
In post 647, DiamondSentinel wrote:Well, for me, the biggest thing is that Ceph consistently tried to defend lurkers (way more than was logical), which makes me think that he's scum defending a lurking buddy, so there's a list of people, including KDowns who fits that bill.
There is a difference between defending lurkers and pointing out that lurking is not a particularly scummy trait unless there are situational reasons or it's accompanied by posting elsewhere on the site. I will always shoot down bad attacks. Get used to it because <I'm gonna delete the rest of this sentence in the interest of not being a dick.>

I'm gonna delete the rest of this sentence in the interest of not being a dick. And then the kicker. He said "Out of everyone here, I know KDowns the best, and this fits his character". That's a major red flag. He is essentially saying "Nobody here knows him except for me so you guys just have to trust me on this that he's not terrible".
I mean okay if anyone else here wants to speak up and say they've had meaningful interactions with kdowns then by all means do so. Why would I say this if it weren't true.

I don't care your opinions about meta, just do it. (and if you want comparison for scum games, look at SaGa Frontier and/or Metal Gear Solid V). Your statement annoys me to no end when you said "he wants claims and actions before he'll start scumhunting". Well, yes. That's how I scum hunt. Words and statements are up to interpretation, but actions and claims are black and white. The only thing left to sort out is the plausibility for each one, and then its reasoning.
Oh look it's another task that kdowns obviously won't bother with.

In post 374, Cephrir wrote:@Grib: OK, what did you like about him then?

@DS: I'm giving you an @ just to let you know that I see your posts and I don't care about them.

Why would I say this if it weren't true.[/quote]

I was saying I didn't think the specific critiques being made were a good reason to suspect him because they were critiques of his personality basically.

There are 2 choices you could do with a "deadweight" (obviously a huge misnomer. What I mean is one that's taking flak) partner.

You can put so much pressure on him that everyone else backs off (T-Bone did this to me in MGSV)

You can defend him in sly, underhanded ways that would take a lot of finnicky thinking to connect.

I personally think you're trying the second. It's also the one that I look for. My logic may seem oftentimes counterintuitive, but more often than not, it's simply a case of moonlogic.
OK so you're the one who just pointed out that one vote isn't a lot of pressure to get defensive about so again I ask you why I woud apparently be so worried about it

Also, you're very wrong. There are a lot of ways to handle a shitty partner, if we want to suppose for the moment that kdowns-scum apparently would just be playing the worst game on earth right now. Personally I'd be choosing between bussing him and ignoring him. Sorry if you don't know the first thing about playing scum :]

Sure though if you first decide that we're scum I'm sure you can impute whatever the fuck motivation you want it just won't make you right

I can assure you, I am going to be much better at setup spec than you.

I just only do it when it's appropriate, instead of making baseless statements like "every game has a miler or an asceitc." Watch how easy it is for me to debunk that claim.

Let's look at the most recently ended large themes that aren't open setups.

I'm skipping the first two because they don't say what the roles do in the first post.

http://forum.mafiascum.net/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=65809 oh look, no miller or ascetic.
http://forum.mafiascum.net/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=66574 also no miller or ascetic.
another one i'll skip because it would require effort to figure out what the roles are
http://forum.mafiascum.net/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=66116 and you guessed it, no miller or ascetic.

tell me more about how much you know about typical mafia setups.

Suicide Bomber renders the point of getting a mislynch on them pointless which was the whole crux of your "funny" post.

i'm not a player who makes a lot of strong pushes early on, no. you seem like you are, though, so i figured you'd try to do it properly and get votes for what you want to do. clearly i do have opinions and a vote.

i'm not ignoring that case, i think snarky is scum so i didn't disagree with you.

i'm not the one who has strong opinions today, that's why. i'll make bigger points if and when i feel like it

I've played with camnt the hydra several times and i usually think they're scum and they haven't been scum yet

you will have to excuse me being a little hesitant to lynch them for things that are antitown and not necessarily demonstrative of scum motivation. and half of the hydra is consistently antitown and doesn't seem to have changed that here -- i assure you, i would be all about lynching them if i thought they had an even marginally better than random chance of being scum

as it stands they are if anything less useless than certain other players in this game, surprisingly

Trying to explain what I see is not my best quality so when Cephrir wasn't getting it I wondered if it was understandable where I was coming from or he wasn't really paying attention
if there was a case there i must be completely brain damaged as ive now read it 5 times and it still looks like a bunch of random quotes and three lines

Happy to start here. My lynch interests lie in approximately descending:

Hiplop – Spiffeh – Snarky – Bro

Hiplop was happy to skate by hiding in his cozy friends group yesterday. No scum-hunting from the slot. His reaction to be called out by me early was not Town.

Spiffeh – These posts should be self-explanatory
In post 1799, Spiffeh wrote:Imperium or Fox McCloud (or both) need to be doc-protected tonight, ESPECIALLY if Waco flips scum

They're the only ones keeping town afloat atm
In post 1791, Spiffeh wrote:VOTE: Waco Kid

This is absolutely the best lynch for today.

Everything Imperium said about him earlier is spot on.

The complete confidence in the Fox scum read comes out of nowhere; there are a few points in his ISO where he seems to be a little suspicious of them but his "case" on them is obviously reactionary to the wagon on him.

It looks like he realized he's in deep shit and forced a strong opinion to get the heat off him.

And despite this confidence in scum!Fox and taking issue with almost every post they have made since then, his vote has been parked on the most plausible counterwagon option (my slot).

So yeah this can die
Snarky – I’ve already said why he needs to die and Imperium’s strong defense of him adds to that stance.

Bro – More interested in being a jerk and talking about drag queens than hunting scum. Did nothing to fight against the lynch on his so called Top Town read instead just buddied along.
I don't think they're self-explanatory. Care to hold my hand?

I'll have to remember to look back at Bro.

Absolutely do not think that's what they were doing there. Imperium was not afraid of being attacked for being a vote on a town lynch, that is level zero as fuck play

My work is as follows: Imperium are known to be a huge asset as town and their other half, if they were town, would most likely become obvious town after a few days. Even if one suspects them, one should literally never shoot them night 1 as town

Agreed -- please don't say things like this especially when it is only Day 2 (you may well be correct about MOI's alignment -- that doesn't make this a good idea ever)
In post 1924, MagnaofIllusion wrote:

But to elaborate instead of being completely snarky -

I've already been over my Camnt's scum read. The fact that main person debating me on that was Imperium scum doesn't dissuade me from thinking it has merit.

Spiffeh's entrance into the game was not very good.

He gets demerits for trying to direct power-roles multiple times (trying to get protective roles to protect Imperium and trying to dissuade anyone from shooting Imperium if a Vig).
In fact his "Snarky MUST be shot" post is one of the reasons I'm not trying to power-lynch Snarky today. If Spiffeh just had terrible reads and played bad yesterday as Town I'll revisit at a later date.

The Waco push I quoted was god awful. Waco wasn't scummy to begin with and had claimed a provable role that, despite the possibility of a scum Fruit Vendor, warranted testing at least Night 1 at the very least. Spiffeh cobbled together some crap that happened to coincide on the dominant wagon and helped finish the mislynch that scum Imperium started.

If you don't think this is worth serious consideration then I don't know what to tell you.
Actually, most of it is beter/more nuanced than I was expecting. I expected the bold to be the thrust of your argument and was prepared to be very underwhelmed by that, but the rest I can see

Towny:

Transcend

kraska77
Imperium (Nachomamma8/Tammy hydra)

Grib
kdowns

Leftovers:

DiamondSentinel
farside22
MagnaofIllusion
SnarkySnowman
Waco Kid
Here's Luna's last read list.

I'm trying to work through why Fox would get shot by scum over a number of other high-profile players in this game. N1 shot is best used to remove a townie who has a scumread on one or more of the more townread members of the scumteam. Obviously that wasnt TammyCho.

This makes me think that there's very like 1-2 scum in {DS, farside, MoI}. Snarky being scum probably wouldn't have gotten Fox shot, since Snarky's not a scum member that the team would try to protect until endgame. DS is probably the most likely to be town out of those 3 based on him also getting pretty seriously wagoned day 1 as well.

VOTE: Farside

(hooray using NKA to further things that I already believe!)
I would ordinarily think Fox was the default nightkill for scum here as, in my opinion, the best town player meta-wise in the game (sans perhaps Imperium for obvious reasons). However, the Imperium scum flip changes this a little, as I think they have little to gain from shooting inside our small block of sane players. And I very much suspect farside as well. So... perhaps you're on to something after all?

It's objectively more powerful than IC, as it forces the scum to try to go in a 1v1 with town (if they lie) or to reveal a confirmed townie, if they happen to be chosen.

Also, if scum want to stop it, then it forces them to waste a kill/roleblock on a less-than-favorable slot.

He doesn't take everything stated in the game and just votes for those few post he found and calls the player scum.

Here are a few examples.

http://forum.mafiascum.net/viewtopic.ph ... 7#p8249987
http://forum.mafiascum.net/viewtopic.ph ... 5#p8249385
What's wrong with that?
What do you think of farside repeating the "bro is cherrypicking" arguments when all of my reads have been articulated in wholistic/"feels" form, and farside is literally just pointing to the places where I point out specific examples of broader trends?
Yeah I quoted the majority.
You want an iso to prove it too.
http://forum.mafiascum.net/viewtopic.ph ... er_sort=Go

There you can point for players where you made something of a case that wasn't on 2 or 3 post from a player.
I fucking dare your lying ass there.
I haven't done that either. Am I scum? I bet I can name 10 other players who haven't done that.

The dude has made one case on one player and lurked most of the game so I'm curious about his read.
Gut and don't think he'd be this shitty as scum.
I encourage you to read Cyberpunk Mafia because I said this exact same thing about Dwlee and it won him the fucking game.

Never put blatant shitiness as "too terrible to be scum". You can do lynch-bait/scumminess for that, but never bad play. If bad play is pro-scum, lynch that mofo.
On account of the mods recent statement I am currently biting my tongue so hard it is literally bleeding.

Do you guys remember when I was being fun and upbeat and more positively oriented with my sass? Back when I thought this might be fun? Ah, to be so naive again.
