What Were You Thinking! is a game about trying to give the most popular answers to a variety of questions that has been run a multitude of times over the years, most recently by Xalxe. This time, however, it'll be a little bit different, as you'll be playing as teams trying to accumulate the highest score possible.

GAME RULES

How to Play
  • Five categories will be given such as "Name Five Pieces of Exercise Equipment" or "Which Player Reads the Most Novels." All players must then PM me their choices as answers for each category.
  • I will give a deadline for PM submissions of your answers and, at deadline, will post them all. The point is not to give the correct answer(s), but to give the most popular answer(s).
  • Outside help (e.g. Internet searching, previous games of What Were You Thinking, and/or discussion of the current topic with other players) is disallowed; answers must be actual attempts to fit the category -- none of this giving of answers that don't fit just for laughs or to match others outside of the category.
  • Players that do not submit answers before the deadline will automatically score 0 for every question.

Scoring
  • Players score zero points if they give an answer that matches no other player for a category.
  • Players that give the same answer score a total amount of points equivalent to the number of players that also gave that answer.
  • Each team will have all of its players' scores totaled together after five categories. The team with the higher score will be safe from elimination. In the event of a tie, the team with a lower number of non-scoring answers will win.
  • Drafting for partners for the next round will take place in order of individual player scores on the winning team, with the following tiebreakers, in order: lowest number of non-scoring answers, highest score on a single category, earliest submission.

Example Play
CuddlyCaucasian wrote:Okay! Everyone, PM me five pieces of exercise equipment. Your deadline is 3 days... go!
xofelf to CuddlyCaucasian via PM wrote:hmmm... my answers are
dumbbells, stationary bike, barbells, treadmill, and pull-up bar
!

Thanks for including this game in Clash of the Mash. You are clearly the best mod in Mish Mash <3
zoraster to CuddlyCaucasian via PM wrote:Don't tell anyone, but you folks in Mish Mash run things better than anyone else on the site!

dumbbells, stationary bike, rowing machine, free weights, and swimming pool
hiplop to CuddlyCaucasian via PM wrote:why is your mod color so much prettier than mine :(

Let's go with
Pull-up bar, Stationary Bike, Barbells, Dumbbells, and Rowing Machine
.

I bet you use them all, you big hunk you. ;)
CuddlyCaucasian wrote:All three players have got their answers in. Here are the totals.

Dumbbells (3) - xofelf, zoraster, hiplop
Stationary Bike (3) - xofelf, zoraster, hiplop
Barbells (2) - xofelf, hiplop
Pull-up Bar (2) - xofelf, hiplop
Rowing Machine (2) - zoraster, hiplop
Free Weights (0) - zoraster
Swimming Pool (0) - zoraster
Treadmill (0) - xofelf

hiplop scored 12 points.
xofelf scored 10 points.
zoraster scored 8 points.
In this case, each of those scores would go towards their players' respective teams.

Question 1)
Name your five favorite foods.

Question 2)
List five body parts with three-letter names.

Question 3)
Name five Olympic sports.

Question 4)
List the five biggest threats or best players in this game (Clash of the Mash).

Question 5)
List the five funniest users in this game (Clash of the Mash).

Everyone has 48 hours to both submit their answers for the above questions, and to PM the mods with their draft lists for partners. This time, you ONLY need to list the veterans or rookies from the opposing team. Players that were partnered up last round are not eligible to pick each other again. The two veterans/rookies from the losing team that go undrafted will enter the Brawl, and must select a fellow veteran/rookie from their team to go against.

Since people don't like movies, I changed the third question as to not have two challenges in 3 rounds that disfavor people who don't like movies.

Who will be the first to hit quote instead of PM is the real question

I was gonna do a Xalxe joke, but then I noticed he was a legit answer too often. So I didn't do it.
