First glance reads as town sided.
I'll look at it in more detail after the weekend is finished

I considered adding a Miller to counterbalance. Would that work?

Posted: Sat Dec 03, 2016 4:53 am
by borkjerfkin
I think millers are generally pro-town in practice -- usually acts as a named townie.

I don't think it's townsided. If scum is even remotely decent at PR hunting, town don't really have all that many weapons.

I definitely like it better without the miller.

What's the policy on Mod blessed FoS in normals? Do we care? I have never heard of such a thing.

Posted: Sat Dec 03, 2016 5:05 am
by Gamma Emerald
Mostly a carry-over from my home site. If it's annoying I can remove it.

by borkjerfkin
also having two cops, even if they are complementary, will strain credulity. that makes it a little less townsided than you might think, too.

Posted: Sat Dec 03, 2016 8:04 am
by Cephrir
I think this is probably balanced.

Can the rolecop act and kill?
The mafia PM seems to imply the kill is a factional action not carried out by anyone in particular which seems unlikely
The cop PMs confirm there is no SK in the game

jailkeeper PM: protect them FROM ONE KILL

Posted: Sat Dec 03, 2016 8:12 am
by borkjerfkin
Ugh I forgot SKs could be in normals

Cops get "Mafia" or "not Mafia" results. That may have been an over simplification.
Rolecop cannot act and kill.
For the factional kill, I may rephrase it to "One of you may send in a kill each night"
I don't really get why protective actions only stop one kill.

OK, great, their role PMs and results don't currently say that though
K
That sounds good
Because they do in normal games.

I also decided to add player names to the Cop results for clarity.
Should I remove the inclusion of FoS-counting?

The FoSes aren't really going to make a difference, they're barely used in my experience.

I'm trying to remember back to the mini normal I played that had odd/even night cops. The two basically confirmed each other as town, but then the mafia team didn't actually do very well with what they were given. (And we believed the possibility of a doctor the setup). There's where I got my town-sidedness from, but on rethought it was just mafia not doing their job well

Also, how should I reword my rule against cryptography to make it better?

Posted: Sat Dec 03, 2016 1:14 pm
by borkjerfkin
my ruleset just says:

"Please do not use hidden or encrypted text."

Posted: Sat Dec 03, 2016 1:15 pm
by Gamma Emerald
Wait, I actually remember that was in place for small text.
Still worth fixing.

Posted: Sat Dec 03, 2016 1:32 pm
by Gamma Emerald
Revised rule will say:
"Please do not use hidden or encrypted text, as well as font sizes that are below X"
I'll test what "X" will be later.

Posted: Sat Dec 03, 2016 1:35 pm
by Gamma Emerald
This is how tiny looks

size 20
Size 20 is when text becomes near invisible
size 40
Size 40
Small text

No text below "Tiny" size seems to be okay.

Also, is the point of BCC to prevent people from seeing who else recieved the PM? It says to use it for role PMs so I assume that's the case.
