Exactly. Which means nobody deserved to win because everyone was just differing levels of suck.

To be fair though, I can't judge. I don't think I've won a game in forever.

I've lost some really close games though, for what it's worth. :/

Just read the spectator thread for some commentary on how badly you all screwed things up mechanically speaking.

This is why I said you should just always lynch RC. If they're scum, win. If they're town, they're not in the game anymore and it will become readable, so, also win.

Yes, obviously their day play was sufficient UNTIL TODAY, WHEN IT SUCKED.
But towns day play just sucked more. Don't believe a universe exists where it's the correct decision to not leash the claimed day vig when if you don't do so and they're scum you lose a day earlier.

RC, town was dumb. Seriously. Please stop with the ego for just a moment and admit that against competent opposition you NEVER get to use your vig the way you want to. Ever.

And, the game wasn't balanced particulary hard in either sides favor. People picked bad wonders, misused their wonders, and didn't pass the proper resolutions.

People shoulda just played better, and the game, on a mechanical level, would have worked in a balanced fashion.

Alisae, to be perfectly honest, I spectated the game ENTIRELY through the observations and commentary made by people entering the dead thread.

Even IF I agreed with that claim that I'm actually "good" at this game(which I'm coming to doubt more and more as time goes on, I'm just good at ONE specific thing, not getting lynched), I couldn't offer much commentary. I'm sorry. Someone should really be answering you though because the fact that you're actually actively seeking to improve should be encouraged rather than ignored.

Exactly how many large themes would you say have "competent opposition"? So far my large theme exposure is:

FakeGod's new year's masquerade where town was awful (it was also pretty bad in summer waltz which I'd skimmed before playing that one)
Wake's Role Madness (co-mod and eventual takeover mod) where town was ok early and eventually just really bad
RC's In Memory where town made some pretty questionable decisions (the Yume lynch most notably)

Like, at some point I think you basically have to accept that towns are just generally going to be bad, and that's just normal (I suspect towns tend to be worse in large themes than in other formats but that could be mistaken fwiw).

(note: I haven't read any of this game, briefly thought about answering the hero call but decided to wait until/unless Nahdia REALLY needed someone, and then it turned out not to be a crisis / never-filled slot, so I don't know at all if this town stuck out as being better or worse than normal )

I do accept that towns are just generally going to be bad. I think that's a cornerstone of my town play, calling town stupid and assuming they're going to play poorly, so I put all the pressure on myself.

@RC: Naw RC. Like I said, they were just bad. You made a poor play, but town was too bad to actually react properly. CommKnight made a second poor play that COMPOUNDED your poor play, by giving town a clear OPTIMAL line to take(force the dayvig to shoot the "guilty"), which should have been immediately followed by a lynch on CommKnight. Without their play, your refusal to shoot should have got you lynched.

Just bad. Super bad. They were just worse.
