Honestly, with a self selected player list it could just be fine say to try to have <10 posts per day but if you really really need a few more to deal with something (e.g. Zito's wagon thing) then its okay.

10 is actually a lot if everyone does goes near the limit everyday. Good reason to lower would be if its not sufficient to achieve the desired effect.

I feel like a nice way to do it is just for people to see how they feel as the game goes on and move around the reccomended posting amount accordingly? (e.g. I feel this is still going a bit fast for me guys maybe reccing 5 a day would be better?)

Obviously contingent on believeing that people won't abuse being able to discuss this for alignement related reasons.

Nah, because every context clue in the sentence was directed at me. No one else called him an asshole. No one else was talking about him for the last page. The word "you" means something.

Everyone else, including those players who don't actually want to play such a slow game, agrees that this is a fine thing to have, even if they had some concerns while it was under development. You're the only asshole still being an asshole.

He's bad at expressing what he thinks.

He's worred that the geriatric ruleset spreading would end up killing the site or just slow the growth of the userbase. (It's already rather slow at the moment I think? Not sure.)

I've talked to him privately about why I disagree (in the sense that I don't think it'll become particularily popular) and that while I agree with him that if it did become popular that the growth of the userbase would be slower than our "competitors", it's not fundamentally really a problem since we're for a different demographic that should exist in some capacity. Obviously if said demographic dies or becomes too small the site would have to adapt.

But yeah, he's actually thinking and worrying about the longterm wellbeing of the site so he's not just trolling.
