Game Rules:


Rule 0: Don't be a dick.
- If you are being a dick, you run the risk of force-replacement or modkill. You may or may not be warned.

General:

- Please adhere to the site rules.
- Do not discuss this game of mafia outside of this thread unless your role PM allows you to do so.
- Day phases will last 2 weeks maximum.
- Night Phases will last 48 hours maximum.
- During night phase, no talking may be done in the thread.
- Do not quote PM's from the mod at all (real or fabricated). Paraphrasing is acceptable.
- If you have any questions about your role, or the game, feel free to PM the mod.
- "Bah" posts are not allowed.
- If you break any of these rules, you will probably be modkilled.

Voting/Player Actions:

- All votes must be in bold format: vote: Nexus for example.
- Try to unvote before voting. Unvotes must also be in bold.
- Any and all votes will be counted, if you wish to waste a day phase voting for someone not in the game,that's fine by me.
- You may vote No Lynch.
- Voting tricks are not acceptable. If you misspell someone's name intentionally, but I get the gist of it, the vote will count.
- A lynch will occur once a majority decision is reached. If no majority is reached by deadline, then no lynch shall occur.
- Following a lynch, it is twilight. You may continue to post until I lock the thread and declare it night.
- If you have a Night Action, you may submit it from Night 1 and each subsequent Night. No other time.
- Mafia have day talk and they are able to perform any factional kill alongside their other actions, if necessary.

Activity:

- You are expected to post at least once every 48 hours. If you haven't posted for 48 hours, I shall prod you. If you do not respond to the prod within 48 hours (either in thread if it's Day, or via PM during the Night) then I will replace you.
- Similarly, if you require more than three prods, I will force-replace you.

Mechanics:

- Confirm by how your Role PM tells you to once you are ready to play. Once there are 11 confirms, the game begins.
- Do not edit your posts.
- No impossible/hard to read text, or cryptography.
- The Mod may make mistakes - please point out any mistakes gently. Mistakes will be corrected where possible, but sometimes mistakes are made that cannot be reversed. These will stand as final to be commiserated over after the game.
- If you need to get the mod's attention, either PM me, or bold the text you wish to draw to my attention.
- I reserve the right to alter/remove/add any rules as I see fit. You will, of course, be notified if that happens, however.

so to unpack really quickly

1) Roleblocker is a guaranteed guilty if it targets the SK because it's a single SK.
2) 1-shot BP is a scummy as hell role when SK is confirmed to exist
3) FBI agent singles out the SK.
4) The doc on mafia makes SK's life even harder.

So as is right now the SK is really, really screwed and the Mafia have a super easy time and pretty much just waltz to endgame as is.

If you're not especially attached to FBI agent, something I would consider is replacing the FBI agent with a gunsmith.
Rolecop catches the scum that Gunsmith can't, gunsmith is more focused on eliminating Mafia (which are quite strong as is) but can't catch the serial killer (who already has a rough time).
It wouldn't be enough to balance it but it would make things better and I think there's some interesting interplay between the two roles in this setup.

To be honest I was going to suggest a gunsmith in addition to the FBI agent because the gunsmith can pseudoclear the serial killer and the town desperately needs the boost in power right now since they've got literally nothing against stacked scum vs. powerful lone scum.

The rolecop is currently not super useful. what if you gave scum a ninja, perhaps also an encryptor, so that the role cop can score guilties?

I am always an advocate for dropping the SK

I guess I'm fine with it, I just feel like whoever rolled SK would have a really shitty time.

Role cop is currently anti-town given how it will influence setup spec and still too scumsided imo

if you either gave town a miller to conftown or scum a ninja/encryptor to confscum I'd be fine with it.

Yeah given that the gunsmith has two false-guilties (rolecops and FBI agents both have guns), and the rolecop is going to be suspicious of the roleblocker, giving the town something extra would be useful, no matter the type.

Ideally I'd like to see a towny investigate on town and a scummy investigate on scum.

So from here to what I would consider balanced it would be either two confirmable scum or 1 confirmable scum, 1 confirmable town. I'd probably pass just one.

Or a change from role cop to something else or some other power somewhere else.
