Online status

For some reason the boards don't seem able to remember that I want my online status to be hidden. I'll log in with "hide online status" checked, and then twenty minutes later I'll show as online. Other times it will keep me hidden until I log out... There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to when it does and doesn't.

Does anyone know why this might be?

I use MS from phone and computer. I have cleared cache on both. I do tend to check "keep me logged in", so maybe there's a session thing going on? Not sure.

Is it possible it shows you to yourself? I don't stay hidden so I don't know about this, but that's a possibility.

Gamma- when it's working, I don't show online even to myself. This is actually different than I am used to; on other sites when I'm invisible my name is in italics.

N - I select it when I log in, is there a different place to set it?
