I will try to keep a consistent twice a day schedule for vote counts, like I do in my regular mafia game Open 721. Please always let me know if I make a mistake, or if I can improve things for your understanding and I will try to keep people happy

I've only made one good post, and don't you dare accuse me of doing it again.
This is just like any game of mafia. You can reasonably assume Site Rules supercede My Rules. Specific Site Rules that are common issues are restated below.
This will be taken very seriously. Do not discuss this game outside of the game thread or other games outside of their game threads unless your role PM specifically states that you can. If you aren't sure whether something is okay to say, read the link or consult me.
2.
Do not use secret code, hidden text, or other such cryptography in the game thread
, as this constitutes discussion outside the game thread.
3.
Do not bring in outside influences into the game
such as bets, promises, trust tells, etc.
4.
Do not quote any communications with or from me, the moderator
. You may paraphrase. If you're not sure whether it's okay, ask me.
5.
Don't be a jerk.
Use common sense. Abusive behavior, game-irrelevant harassment, slurs, and threats will not be tolerated. You should play to win, but you should also be considerate to the other humans playing this game. Breaking this rule in particular can make things very unfun. I do not want to see that happen.
GAME-SPECIFIC RULES
1.
I am the mod.
I reserve the right to change or add rules, and will inform the players of this. I reserve the right to make the final decision in problematic circumstances and rules infractions, potentially including force replacements, or modkills with or without warning.
2.
I am a fair mod.
PM me ASAP if you see a mod error or a rules break. I will do my best to fix things. No matter what the flavor implies, I guarantee fairness and non-bastardness.
3.
Do not pretend to break the rules.
I will treat this as actually breaking a rule.
4.
If your account is not listed, do not post in the game thread.
If you post from the wrong account, I expect you to correct this ASAP.
5.
Do not edit your posts
. You will be force-replaced for this. I can fix broken tags.
ACTIVITY EXPECTATIONS
6.
This game is a commitment.
Please treat it as such. If you need to go V/LA, just let us know
in bold
and mark it in your profile. Otherwise, prods will be issued every 2-day period without game-relevant posting. If you don't respond or I keep having to prod you, I will replace you.
7.
Play the game.
"Prod-dodging" every 47.9 hours does not constitute treating this game as a commitment. I expect game-relevant posts and reasonable activity, and will give warnings and prods to players that do not appear to be playing the game in good faith.
8.
Do not spam or clutter the thread.
Please keep low-quality game-irrelevant posting to a minimum. If a large number of posts are irrelevant, it impacts me, other players, and potential replacements.
I am willing to give out warnings and replacements for excessive spam/clutter
. Multiposting is okay. Multiposting without substance to rack up your post count or claim a page top is not okay.
"DAY" AND "NIGHT" RULES
9.
The "Day phase" will last 7 real life days.
Extensions of up to 2 days for replacements.
10.
Voting
: Use the vote tags (VOTE: Mathdino and zoraster) or the bold tags (
Vote: Mathdino, northsidegal, and mith
). Misspellings, shortenings, and abbreviations are okay.
Broken tags and incorrect numbers of people won't count.
Don't test my willingness to count your vote.
11.
Unvoting
: Use the unvote tag (UNVOTE: ) or the bold tags (
Unvote:
). You do not need to unvote.
12.
Majority vote
. Missions will be sent upon strict majority. You may continue posting in a "Twilight" phase until I lock the thread.
13.
No Mission
: If there is no majority by the deadline, the "night phase" will be skipped, and the next "day phase" will start.
14.
The Mission will last until every Mission team member has PM'd me
. If any members do not PM me in 48 hours, I will find a replacement.
15.
You may change your mind if you resend your night action before everyone has PM'd me.
MISCELLANEOUS
16.
OOC Rockwell text will be my mod color
.
I may edit posts or post responses in the game thread like this to differentiate myself.
Do not use it!
17.
IF YOU NEED ME TO SEE SOMETHING, BOLD IT.
Ideally use
@Mod
or
@brassherald
. You may ask for vote counts, replacement, V/LA, prods on other players, BBCode fixes, and rules clarifications at any point within reason. I guarantee some kind of response.
18.
This is a game, remember to have fun!
Remember that as The Resistance is a social/debate game, it's okay to attack people's play, but it's never okay to attack the person. It's just a game. Play nice.

- There are 2 Spies (scum) and 3 Resistance (town). Spies have 0 factional communication. The Spies know the identity of the other Spy.
- The game is played in 5 rounds (day/night cycles). The first faction to win 3 rounds wins the game.
- Every day, players must vote on a 2, or 3 player group depending on the day:
D1: 2 players
D2: 3 players
D3: 2 players
D4: 3 players
D5: 3 players
- At night, if
anyone
in the group chooses to sabotage the mission, Spies gains a point. If no one sabotages (or if the whole group is Resistance), the Resistance gains a point.
- Players are informed on daystart exactly how many players chose to sabotage.
- If a majority is not reached by deadline, the Mission is skipped and the Spies gain a point.
- The deadline is 7 days.
tl;dr
: It's a Mafia game but you're voting for town.
I've only made one good post, and don't you dare accuse me of doing it again.
Hello. Hmmm not sure on how I feel about you two being so gung-ho right off the bat. But also, round one is basically information-less. I'll wait for everyone to pop in before voting.
Also, I give the same warning to mafia games - don't expect more than a single post on weekends. Weekdays, though, I'm definitely here
Anyone here have any meta reads on each other that would influence this first vote? Who's a great liar, great town-tell-er, etc?
If there's a sabotage, you have a 50/50 info on the first scum. If there's not, you don't have much info because the first mission is sometimes not sabotaged by scum for late game, but that grants town a point so yeah.
There is always gain for town in the first mission, in whatever combo you work with.
Rawr!

Mathdino and TheGoldenParadox will bravely go on Mission Gregorious Rabbit to attempt to shut down an arms factory used to arm the police and has been used to hamper the Resistance for years with it's well crafted weapons.
Thread will be locked. Each participant will PM me whether they sabotage the mission or succeed at the mission, and Day 2 will begin. I'll make the flavor descriptions at the beginning of Day 2 instead, by the way.
I've only made one good post, and don't you dare accuse me of doing it again.
Day 2 begins, literally the same calendar day as Day 1 began.
You return to the base to find reports stating the mission was a complete success. The team quickly and quietly got in, sabotaged the weaponry and left. There are still weapons out there, but not as many.
The Resistance leads 1-0 in a best of 5.

Oh wait I just realized there is no voting for the mission to go or not to go here.
How does this work it seems too random there will always be doubt and at best come mission 5 you will have a 50% chance of picking right even if you play optimally, unless you get lucky and just guess the correct team on mission 2.
The way I usually play this there is a pre defined order of who is mission leader (like clockwise for example) and then they pick who they choose with them and players vote yes or no for the mission. That way you get additional info that you can actually analyze.
It also adds a 2nd albeit rare win condition for spies which is if 5 mission are refused in a row.
I just fail to see how you can determine who your fellow townies are if we just vote randomly like this.
At any moment in time as towm any 3 player mission you are not a part if you know for sure that it includes 1 or even 2 spies. How do you know which? There aren't enough missions to conftown someone. Are we just hoping we get lucky and pick all 3 towm or pick 2 spies together and have them both fail it?
Yeah but with mafia there clues, associations, night actions.
If you could just imagine with me here.
What is the motivation for scum to vote yes for any 3 way mission they are not a part of?
If it's a success would you trust everyone in the mission?
Like a 3 way mission passing means you mechanically have to pick them again anyway for the next 3 man mission. So it just seems like you either get it right or you lose.
I guess we'll just have to play to the end and maybe I can see what happens. But really this reminds me a lot of the miss list game we played where there's a lot of wifom but even less info coz nobody dies and flips.
Anyway I want you and paradox to go again with me. Only way your mission goes is if icon and irrelephant vote with you. I can't see any reason why paradox would ever vote yes for a mission he isn't in.
