Hey. First time playing Mafia, let's hope this works out!

hey, i’ve played before as scum, but wanted to test out how well i can play with newbies, so we can do this thing!

any questions at all about anything regarding your play, feel free to come directly to me. i have 4 games of experience as mafia, and have won 3 of them.

My first time as scum here. I've seen some Newbie games, generally my strat for any game Town or Scum is to just engage in discussions first.

Had a weird gambit idea just then to scumread your slot for two people replacing in and hopefully get people to think "You can't scumread a slot just because they don't confirm" and subconsciously townread your slot for a bit, no idea if that worked though.

I'm a basic Mafia Goon though, so I just kill people at Night I believe. Are you a special role Mafia?

I am a mafia rolecop! glad to have powers to use. it was smart of you to lay a vote on me and scumread me for distancing purposes, so props! distancing is one of the most important things you must perform when you have scum partners, so you are doing well in that regard! you don’t want to be lynched, and then your partner be immediately lynched after you, if you get my drift!

I would say you are doing OK, but definitely take a backseat in terms of aggressive questioning! that is, because your question to invisibility early on would hit my scum radar if I was town.

i’ve played with invisibility before, but no one else in this pool of players. we were both town in that game, so i’m going to try my best to resemble my townplay in that game I shared with him.

Yeah the aggressive questioning was mostly because the only one talking was me and teacher for the most part then, and I guess people were spotlighting me at the time, so might as well.

I do hope other people talk though, but if we get through a whole week without it we'd have spent Day 1 with Town going nowhere hopefully

now would be a good time for you to show up again in the thread! no need to change your vote from me, but just bringing in a fresh perspective nobody has stated yet on something would look good for your resume.

like, forming a townread on an actual townplayer with good reasoning that nobody has yet considered would look especially good on your part right now, and perhaps encourage voters to move off your wagon, which is what we want

I'm going to try encouraging players to move off my wagon, the safest townreads so far would be Espeon for me though, I'm already picking Teach as my misinformed scum pick. I probably wont scum on your until Day 2 or 3 though

i think you should keep scumreading me, because it looks good for distancing purposes. however, just don’t go too far with it, as you still want to look pro-town

I think you should find a serious reason to townread espeonage, because then others would be reluctant to think you are scum when you are townreading a counterwagon AND also bringing in a perspective no one else has yet. and commit hard to it, that would look very good.

voting xander would be fine for your purposes; BUT do bring in a solid reason no one has stated yet.

I actually am trying to think what a good scumread on you might be though, asking a lot of questions, from my POV would be a townplay normally for me, and I think my actions even echo that, so I'd need a solid reason for why I personally would think you're scum that doesn't look out of the blue for my playstyle.

Xander is a good choice though.

Esp is going to be my strong townread at some point, I just need a better reason to vote for him. It seems my non-panicking response convinced him though.

intentionally been dodging the question you asked to me in the thread just to avoid associatives with you in the case of one is lynched, or guiltied by a cop. the less trace we have, the better.

now this is only important, however, so long as the more experienced players are in the game—which they are quite enticing nk’s on n1, anyway.

you should correct me in the thread for calling you a “she”; that was intentionally put out there to throw others into thinking we wouldn’t be scum partners (specifically irrelephant, who would read into that)! i will continue to call you a ‘she’ and label it as an accident.

you definitely need to vote someone other than me at some point. because if i’m the only player you have voted against, somebody experienced could logically conclude we are scum partners when you did not vote anybody else but me. i need you to do this in case you are voted out

in fact, if i were one of the townplayers in this game, i’d find it hella suspicious on my slot that your only real vote was cast against my slot. would smell like clear distancing to me

Actually any quick important things to catch me up, I mostly zoned out after trying to piece together Teacher's big long wall post, and then I managed to catch Elephant's question about me if I still scumread you.

just that espeonage role claimed a power role, which means he is not vanilla — he is a jailkeeper, doctor, cop or neapolitan role; meaning we nk espeonage no matter what.

if anybody claims intent to hammer you, then you SHOULD absolutely claim power role without saying what power role in an attempt to survive another day. worst comes to worst, someone else would be outed as a power role, and i’d know just who to kill from here on out in order to advance our win conditions.

you don’t have to say what power role, BUT town is going to lynch a vanilla claim today and it would put us as a whole (but me specifically) in a better position with my rolecop ability to keep you in the game in order to help our faction out in the long run.
