The Mafiascum T-Shirt Design Contest!

As noted in the Financial updates, we're going to be doing another print of Mafiascum T-Shirts! We last did this in 2013, so this has been a long time coming.

Good? Great? Okay.

While it would be easy to just reprint those...this site has changed a lot in the last 5 years. So...we are going to make a new design.

And by we, I mean one of you. It's time to get your artist chops out, and DESIGN THIS T-SHIRT!

Here are some rules and guidelines.

- Designs should not have anything offensive or obscene.
- Designs should not be too complex to print on a shirt. (IE designs that encompass the whole shirt)
- Designs must not contain any copyrighted material.
- Designs submissions may either be a front/back design, or just a design for one side of the shirt.

I think that's pretty simple. I also have some tips for the design. First, the simpler the design, the cheaper the t-shirt will ultimately be. Not that I want to dissuade you from following your heart on your design, but my printer has a special machine that adjusts printing prices based on the complexity of the design being printed. The Mona Lisa is going to be way more expensive to print than stick figures. Also, keep in mind the art style we use on the wiki and the cards (if you happen to have them). Those styles are part of our brand, so if you can get inventive, great. Again, this is just a suggestion, follow your heart. Finally, feel free to re-imagine our logo if you want. It's not set in stone for the shirts.

So you may be asking yourself a few questions. Who picks the final design, and what does the winner get?

Well...ultimately mith picks the design, as this is his website, but likely we will narrow it down and put it up to a vote.

The winner gets their design used on the Mafiascum t-shirt! Also, Zoraster will personally buy the winner one t-shirt.

The deadline for this contest is September 4th. After that, a design will be picked, and we'll move onto the next phrase of printing and selling shirts.

No, I cannot answer when the t-shirts will be available, when you can pre-order them, or how much they will cost. Those decisions will be made once we get to that step.

We still have that couch. Sadly, since T-Bone is handling the shipping, you won't get to see how much worse it looks now (Luke keeps spilling milk on it). I love how well the design pops out in that those pictures, though.

To elaborate on "simple" designs, the main factor from my experience printing shirts previously is the color count. It's cheaper to print a shirt with two colors than with four. (There is, I'm sure, also some limit to the detail you can print on a shirt, but it's unlikely to be a factor in a design for this site.)

I agree wholeheartedly with this notion.

If it is wearable in public (mainly at school), I am buying one and I will wear it to school.
(Also, that's why I'm so sad I have a shirt like this sitting in my closet gathering dust.
