That said, it's a fallacy to assume that the same ratio of town to scum in the main thread applies to any PT, so I'd prefer we didn't hunt out of that PT group.

nah I didn't think this was RVS at the time because I did something and Varsoon voted me for it - that's not random.
It's arguably low-info voting stage, which is how I like to deal with RVS which is why I said we are "emerging" from truly random into "low info" where the cases are generally poop but the game gets going.
That being said, we have to start somewhere, so we have the quote above and the quote below
In post 58, Varsoon wrote:'cus it's a fallacy to assume the same ratios exist within a neighborhood.
If we're all town in there and I make the mistake of assuming one of us is scum, then I have a 100% chance of mislynching if I concentrate there, whereas the game thread ALWAYS has the assured setup ratio.
And I know if I mislynch in there I'll sunk cost it and keep lynching in there
and if they all flip town then I know I'm up shit creek for being the last one left.
Does that make sense?
we also have
15 where Varsoon basically says "there is a hood"
It was ME that suggested there could be scum in the hood in my haste when I thought we had deadlines to which, Varsoon made post 49...
he says
"I'm liable to believe that at least one of the four people in my PT is scum"
what does "I'm liable to believe" even mean? kinda feels a bit like he's saying "it'll be you lot that leads me into lynching within the hood, not me pushing it" almost a bit "not my fault we mislynched" so you could _conclude_ he is shifting blame for inevitable mislynches - how we he know if it's a mislynch? if he is scum in the hood
so I don't like that turn of phrase.
So then he goes a bit further into the logical fallacy of it all - which is true but, given the vibe I'm getting from above it again comes over as "yeah sure hunt in the hood if you want, but I aint leading that shit because I wont get stitched up for that mislynch, so I suggest hunting outside the hood, which puts me at a lot less risk"
again this phrase:
"And I know if I mislynch in there I'll sunk cost it and keep lynching in there"
he is right - if we restrict the lynch pool and commit to lynching in the hood, we _could_ end up doubling down
so yeah I don't like this at all
