GENERAL

Spoiler:

-Remember that this is a game - heated discussion is allowed, but personal attacks are not. Comment on play, not player.
-Pretending to break the rules will be treated similarly as actually breaking the rules.
-Do not quote any private communication regarding this game—this includes your role PM, other mod communication, posts from private threads, etc. Paraphrasing is acceptable. If you're unsure, ask me first.

Blue

is my color. You can use it, if you want, but please don't try to impersonate me.
-Do not use encryption, hidden text or excessively small text in your posts.
-Do not use any form of provable randomness. This includes dice tags, screenshots of random.org, etc. Saying you flipped a coin is okay, providing some sort of proof that you did isn’t.
-Each day phase will last for 10 days, with night phases lasting 48 hours.
-If you have the ability to edit your posts, do not do so.
-My decisions are final. If I feel you are violating any of the rules, I will take the appropriate action.
-As a general principle, whenever moderator action is required I will attempt to make the decision that has the least impact on the natural flow of gameplay. For example, force replacing instead of modkilling whenever possible.

VOTING

Spoiler:

-All votes and unvotes must be in

or in VOTE: tags, with vote tags being preferable.
-Votes in spoilers will not be counted.
-Abbreviations and nicknames are acceptable, as long as I can understand them.
-Lynches will occur when a majority (>50%) is reached. If no majority is reached before deadline, the player with the most votes will be lynched. Ties will be resolved by wagon seniority.
-Voting to end the day in a no-lynch requires only 50% of players rather than >50%.
-Once a hammer has occurred, the game is in "twilight". Discussion may continue until I lock the thread but no further votes or unvotes will be counted.

ACTIVITY

-You are expected to make at least one game-relevant post every 48 hours. Players who go 48 hours without posting will be prodded.
-If you are prodded, you have 24 hours to post in-thread. If you do not respond within 24 hours, you will be replaced. Additionally, if I have to prod you 3 or more times, I reserve the right to replace you at my own discretion.
-Abuse of prod dodges will result in you being replaced at my own discretion.
-If you are going to be V/LA, please announce it in thread or PM me. If your V/LA will last 7 days or longer I may be forced to replace you.

  • When a Town Vengecop is lynched, he/she gets one investigation, the result of which is revealed publicly at the start of the next day.
• Mafia do not have daychat.
  
• Although the day will still end when a majority is reached, if a majority is not reached before the deadline, the lynch will be resolved by plurality.

"SUSPECTED MOB BOSS WALKS; EVIDENCE MISHANDLED"

Mishandled evidence.

That was the story in the papers, but the detectives on the police force knew the real story. It was by no accident or unlucky stroke that that evidence went missing; it was confirmation of a long suspected truth. The Mafia had people on the inside.

How high up the chain it went or how long it had been going on, nobody knew. Dealing with corruption is like chasing shadows. The truth was there was no telling who you could trust. Anybody could've been in on it: people you thought you could trust, people you thought you were your friends. Maybe even your partner.

The tension around the station was palpable. Window shutters were closed, suspicious glances exchanged.


An Internal Affairs investigation was being opened. Everyone's dirty laundry was going to be aired, long-buried secrets unearthed. People were going to get dismissed; that much was certain.

All anybody could hope for was that it didn't turn bloody.

I spent some time this morning thinking about breaking strategies but I certaiy didn’t solve anything. It seems that there really isn’t any downside to discussing who the cop check should be on a given night. If scum kill the target we’ve really just earned a second lynch.

You're idea, if I'm reading right is to try and control the night kill on basically a player who is playing bad in the town's eyes.

Not a “player playing bad”, but the actual next best lynch. It’s a question of what’s better between:
1) There are 10 players alive going into night, the least town of which either dies or has their alignment confirmed by the mod.
2) There are 10 players alive going into night, the most town of which dies and another player has their alignment confirmed by the mod.

Option 2 gives a smaller pool of unchecked players, but there are consequences. The lynched player’s check might not line up with concensus leading to more mislynches, and the most town player dies night 1 as opposed to being left alive.

I’m not really sure which is better, I’m just explaining the things that I’ve been thinking about.
