To join a game, type "/in to play" or something along those lines and indicate which game currently in sign-ups you'd like to play in. '/in to any' or not specifying a game isn't sufficient enough to be added to a player list.
There is no experience requirement to sign up for an Open Game. However, playing through a Newbie Game first is recommended.
There is no overarching policy dictating how many games you can play at once, but please consider your availability when signing up for multiple games. Games can last upwards of months, so it's important not to over-commit yourself.
Alt accounts and hydra accounts may sign-up at Game Moderator discretion.
Moderators:
To
sign up
to moderate an Open Game, you must have been active on the site for at least three months, and have completed at least one Mafia Game as a player.
Potential moderators can only be in a single modding queue (Open Game, Mini Normal, Mini Theme) at a time. Moderators must wait until the game they're running has completed before joining a queue again.
First time moderators will be allowed to choose any set-up from the list of Approved Open Setups as their first game. I will intervene if a set-up isn't filling or is being chosen too much to ensure the balance of the queue.
Experienced mods (At least one game completed as a mod) may select from a wider range of setups on the catalogue or design and run a brand new setup.
If a mod wants to run their own setup it needs to be approved by an experienced reviewer. These reviews occur in the Open Setups Review thread.
I will allow experienced mods to run games that have been given a cursory check to make sure they are not broken but are not approved open setups. These games may be able to be broken or may be unbalanced and will be indicated as such.
New setups that are successful may be added to the approved catalogue for rotation on a regular basis.
If you do not start your game within 72 of it being filled, you will forfeit your spot as the mod of the game.
To sign-up, please fill out the following form and reply to the thread with it.
Once a game enters sign-ups, Moderators will be given access to the Open Mod Group, and a game number.
Moderators are in-charge of their own sign-ups. They may approve playerlists, and start their game as soon as it is filled. The Listmod will provide oversight. Playerlists should be created first come, first served, but Moderators have the right to refuse players within reason.
Moderators are recommended to use the term 'eliminate' to describe what happens to a player when they reach the necessary vote threshold for elimination during a day phase. More information on that right here.
Games will have three weeks to fill.

Open Games:
All flavour for Open Games must be public and entirely original. Flavour based on any source material are considered Theme Games.
All possible role PM's for the game must be listed in the opening post somewhere.
Flavour is permitted within role PM's to a degree. It must, however, not change the title of particular roles (Vanilla Townies must be called Vanilla Townies and not "Ghostbusters" etc.) and duplicate roles must have the same role PM.
Do you have a great idea for an Open Setup? Post it in the Open Setup Ideas and Discussion thread. There are a lot of members who will review your idea, and if it's well received you may run it yourself if you're an experienced mod or possibly someone else will on your behalf.
I will regularly update this thread during the week, with updated signup lists being posted in the following post as well as a new post.
If you have a question about the Queue or Open Games in general, feel free to ask here or send me a PM.
Open Set-Up Forum - This is a forum dedicated to the discussion of Open Set-Ups. Includes a monthly design contest.
Open Setup Review thread - Once an idea snowballs and a mod has intent to run a particular setup, it can seek official approval to be run in this thread.
Archive of Open Games - This is the history of all previous Open Games run in Central Park.
Please note that I've made a few changes to the queue rules. There are two major changes I would like to highlight. First, there is a sign-up form. There was a bottleneck in the queue created by a lack of a form. Now if you want to run a game in this queue, you fill out the form. If you are an experienced mod, I will let you run whatever set-up you would like. However, moderators who don't run quality set-ups might have this privilege revoked.
First time Moderators will be given a selection of approved set-ups to run.
The second major change is that I have automated the queue. When a game enters sign-ups, I will assign the game a number and give the Moderator access to the Open Mod Group. A moderator in the queue may keep track of their playerlists, and start their game as soon as it fills. I will still check playerlists to make sure that no one is cheating, and that the Moderators are not purposely missing players. Sign-ups should be first come, first served, although Moderators have some discretion to not allow a player to play if they wish.
There are a few people left in the queue from the previous thread, and they will be grandfathered into the queue. From here on out all Moderator sign-ups must use the form.
(Sorry if I missed someone from the previous thread, you will be next if I did)

is it still the case that there are only 2 games in sign-ups at any given time, or is it that there may be any number of games in "open" signups, so to speak?
