I probably won't die tonight because I have no idea if my ability is active tonight, (nor when it even does activate), but N2+? Yea, I'm most likely the person to get shot at that point. I'm hoping the fact that not even me knowing what the effect is dissuades scum from doing so however.

That'd mean my flagbearer ability is most likely unmodified, meaning if I'm lynched, my entire faction dies as well. That means I don't want to be the center of attention. Me putting heat on myself to protect a scumbuddy isn't something I'd do if I know that means I can instantly lose the game.

Additionally, flagbearer is pretty much only aligned with scumfactions. Rarely is it aligned with town. If it is, and it kills the entire town, then it's a bastard role. This game isn't bastard, so we can safely assume I don't kill the entire town.

Typical flagbearer mechanics is when the flagbearer is lynched, all member of their faction die. A town flagbearer who kills all other townies upon lynch is bastard. This game isn't bastard however, so that isn't the issue. I was told my flagbearer abilities are modified, and they aren't currently active, however, I have no idea what the modifications to the ability is, nor the activation requirements.

I'd assume my flagbearer ability only comes into play once it activates, and I'm lynched. Anything else would technically be bastard. Another thing, I should reasonably be told when it activates. If not, I could make a semantic argument about that being bastard, and I really doubt that the reviewers of the game were like "town flagbearer who doesn't know when they start flagbearing

and the ability activates upon death, not upon lynch

Yea, you could have a vig kill me, but that's wasting the night for the vig and town loses someone for no reason. I did think about it a bit more, and with my current assumption of it being the ability only triggers upon me getting lynched, (once it activates), scum have literally very little reason to shoot me, therefore having a protective on me is just a waste. Sure, I can make a pseudo-masonry between people who are pretty sure they're town, but none of it gets mod-confirmed. Additionally, once it gets activated, scum would want to let me live until a point where they could reasonably get someone to vote to lynch me, causing them to automatically win.

If I rolled scum here, it'd be more useful to scum to have a roleblocker over a neighborhood creator. Reasonably, if I were to have access to the neighborhoods, that could be justified for a scum role, however, I don't have access to them. I literally had no idea if the ability even went through before we got the first confirmations of it working.

Masons are always town aligned from what I remember and that's why I was town reading Mastina for being in a mason chat with me and it turns out everyone has a mason chat. At first I was thinking Korina was an independent who could pair up players and put them in a mason chat and then I had to look up the Flagbearer role because I was not familiar with it and it said it is mafia aligned. Scum claiming Flagbearer on day 1 is pretty ballsy and scum would want to avoid those kind of suspicious claims they make on day 1.
