If you have a question for me, you can always PM me. If you need to talk to me in thread,
please bold your question like this
so I can locate it better.
You may not use hidden or encrypted text. I decide if the text is small enough to be count as hidden text.
If you have a power to edit/delete your post, don't do it. If you scumslip, just accept it and eat rope.
Play nice. Insulting players with using any form of racial/sexual slur or any kind of derogatory languages or excessive harassing in any way will result in immediate force-replacement.
Do not EVER discuss the ongoing games in this thread nor discuss this game elsewhere, no matter how informative it is.
Do not use provable randomization in this game. Saying that you rolled a dice is fine, using dice tag is not.
This is my color. (#408000) Don't use it.
If I find the certain factors/actions damaging the state of the game, I will intervene and/or take action.
If you break these rules, I have full rights to punish you at my will. This can range from simple warning to modkill/force-replace.
If I feel like it, I always have a full right to add/modify the rules. If I do, I will fully explain the reason behind such action.
Most importantly, have fun!
Requesting and Using Mod-Given Information / Clarification
You may ask for clarification or information about roles and mechanics on thread or via PM, case by case. However, all "hypothetical situation" questions must be asked via PM only.
Please refrain from saying things like "mod said" unless necessary. Don't drag me into this game.
When using the information I provided, do not quote it word-by-word. Paraphrase it.
Voting and Lynching:
You can vote by either using bold tag([
b]Vote:GuyInFreezer[/b
]) or using vote tag ([
vote]GuyInFreezer[/vote
]). However, try to use vote tag if possible. It's kinda hard for me to locate bold votes.
Unvote is not required to change your vote. Also, if it looks like a vote for someone, I will count it. No tricking me!
A player is lynched when the majority votes the same player. Once the player is lynched, the lynchee and the living players may talk until I get back and post the flip.
If the deadline is reached before the lynch has reached, the day will end with
No Lynch
, unless mentioned otherwise.
If you're nightkilled, you may post one information-less "bah" post.
If the game reaches endgame and I'm not around yet to resolve it, dead players may not post until I finish resolving the endgame.
Activity and Deadline:
Deadline for each day is 8 days. Deadline for each night is 2 days.
If you're on V/LA, please tell me beforehand by either post it in thread (bolded) or PM to me.
If you don't post here for 48 real hours, I will prod you. Failure to receive prod within 24 hours or receiving a 3rd prod will cause force-replacement.
If you do not submit an action before the day ends, it will count as
No Action
.
If I have to extend the deadline, I will. If I do, I will post it on thread.

Setup Specifics
The game will feature
7 Towns
vs
2 Mafia
.
The game will begin with a draft system similar to Pick Your Power X/Y, but only with number.
Lowest number will be placed on the bottom of the list. Once the list is formed, Day 1 will begin. Starting Day 1, player at the top of the list will die at the end of the phase (both day and night).
During the day, instead of voting to lynch, each players can vote either:
Cut the list in half and reorder (Odd number will be cut in bigger/smaller) (1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 -> 6 7 8 9 1 2 3 4 5)
[HALF]
Paired Shuffle (1<->2, 3<->4, etc)
[PAIR]
Layered Shuffle (1<->9, 2<->8, 3<->7, etc)
[LAYER]
Undo the previous action
[UNDO]
Skip Day
[SKIP]
The day will end once 3 shuffles are voted, deadline is reached, or majority voted Skip.
During the night, mafia may vote to either not take any action, or use one of the shuffling method above. However, mafia can only use one shuffling method during the game.
Town wins when all Mafia members are eliminated, and Mafia wins when they control half + 1 of the alive playerlist.

Salutations, all. Don't worry, for I have arrived.
Now I know I have quite the reputation to uphold here, so I won't wait around to kick things off.
To start off with, I will claim
X-Shot Day Vigilante.
Of the towny variety of course. I intend to use a shot today, so please keep this in mind.
You know, people always ask me, "Hectic, how
do
you manage to win every single game you frequent? Despite being in 10 simultaneous games? How
are
you so good?"
And I always tell them the same thing.
Hard work, commitment, undying motivation, and analysing every. single. little. detail.
I hope I can teach you all many things during the course of this game.
And one day, I hope each and every one of you will be as good of a player as I currently am.

My understanding of the commands are currently a little rough around the edges. So I have some questions if that's alright, good moderator:
1) You say
[HALF]
splits the list bigger/smaller for odd numbers, but it seems to be split smaller/bigger in your example, am I misunderstanding?
2) In the case of an odd list, does
[PAIR]
ignore the middle number?
3) In the case of an odd list, does
[LAYER]
ignore the middle number?

Agreed.
Hectics has been impersonating me for far too long now. It's time we delivered him some justice.
Only fitting if I'm the one to do it.
This will return me to the micro queue. Then I can join Baezu's game.
Don't do it. Hectics is likely to sub in and sabotage the game's integrity.

You believe scum are less likely to put themselves at the top of the list?

1) I could've sworn I fixed it but it wasn't. Fixed.
2, 3) Yes.

Pretty sure 12 is pretty sketchy because this site does not allow cryptography/secret messages in their site rules. And 13 feels LAMIST especially with the fake claim. You do realize how stacked this lobby is right?

Isn't all breadcrumbing a form of secret messages?
Why does me potentially breaking a site rule make me scummy?
It's not a fakeclaim.
I'm relieved to hear the lobby is stacked, I do like a good challenge.
It's possible to lynch anyone here with some combination of commands.
The same goes for D2, regardless of whether we have 7 or 8 people. And it gets even easier beyond that.
I'm currently struggling to understand what use the mafia has with their one shuffle.

Nymph, are you an alt? Your join date is July 30. I'd agree this game is stacked, but I'm surprised you'd know of this.
@Hectic: The idea behind the cryptography rule is that, like, if there's only one math PHD in the game, and you know this, you've basically created a neighborhood. Breadcrumbs at a quality where anyone can follow them don't have this problem.
[quote="Nymph]13 feels LAMIST especially with the fake claim.[/quote]
Hectic usually does super crazy wonky stuff, but it usually has a LAMISS flavor instead of a LAMIST flavor. But my sample size is small.

Pretty sure I'm unlynchable today, if I understand the rules correctly.
I think the mafia get to shuffle repeatedly if they choose the same method over and over. It says "only one method", not only one shuffle. So they have an imperfectly aimed NK. If you manage to position the list so that both mafia players would be at the top of the list with "no action" and "reuse the action that got locked in night 1", you force mafia to NK themselves.
