I meet up with some old high school friends a few times a year. A couple of them are outdoorsy and somehow convinced the rest of us to go camping. It was my first (and last) time camping so I took a LOT of precautions, including a couple things of bear spray. I felt pretty fucking smart when a bear showed up and got chased off by my spray. I'm not the one that actually sprayed the bear, because I'm a wimp, but it was my spray that got used. So I'm a hero.

What was the back story?

I go to Toronto every year or two to visit family. One such visit was right before Chicagomeet. On the way back to America, the person at the border booth (I'm not actually sure if these are customs agents) noticed that this Toronto trip was much shorter than usual and asked why. In my excitement, I accidentally slipped that I had a meetup with online friends coming up when I could've been relatively truthful without including the online part. So then I had to explain how I met these online friends.

The part about visiting Toronto for family every year or two is true. I didn't mean to trick N into thinking I attended Torontomeet, but it should be pretty easy to check that I didn't.

We had found a list of different locations from a previous clue and knew that one of the locations, if written out with numbers, would be the combination to open a lock and proceed to the next room. The locations on the list were various cities, states/provinces, and countries. We were told "one of these is not like the other". When I saw that Ohio was on the list, I suggested we try it since Ohio was the only location on the list with a non-rectangular flag, to my knowledge. 150809015 with a bunch of 0s at the end was correct
