Ok, I don't really agree with the argument of either side here - they are both a little on the pedantic side, but what I think is more important it the result of these arguments.

Menalque has been relentlessly pushing his scumread in a way which he might not have had the cause to do so early on as scum, and has done so in a way which reads as genuinely frustrated and believing in his read.

Wimpy on the other hand reads like caught scum who are desperately trying to wriggle free, and then get so far entrenched that they feel they have to commit to their counter-vote. I don't believe Wimpy's confidence in his scumread/s as much as I believe Menalque's.

Thought all of this was town in how he was approaching wimpy!slot and in his reasons for SRing the wimpy defence

Like let’s say I’d powerlynched winpy and then led another mislynch D2. I think it’s relatively unlikely that I avoid the game losing mislynch D3 in the situation, do as long as I’m not on scum as my D2 read then they can just let things unfold which is what I think was going on

But I think the reasons for thinking the PoE is good are solid so I don’t see the need to overthink it unless proven otherwise, in which case there will v likely be enough info to find where the scum actually are

Plus I think I consistently find scum on D1 so I also just sort of trust myself to be >avg right that the PoE has scum even if I don’t know who’s most likely yet

Specifically

Menalque - This is the only member of the trio who could be scum, I think. His battles with the Wimpy slot sometimes felt, how to say it, more like pushing than sorting. He's made a couple posts I townread on tone, too, though. A lot of Menalque's push on Wimpy came off like "lynch this person I dislike" rather than "lynch this person who is definitely playing to the scum win condition".

If I can try out the fancy perspective slip buzzword, spending time considering whether Wimpy is a weak player as town rather than a weak player as scum seems like a potential perspective slip. It'd make Menalque a weak player too unless he tends to blame mislynch victims for mislynches and as far as I know he doesn't, moreso than anyone else does.

I'm pretty optimistic about my ability to read this slot if I get several game days with him.
