I was under the impression that 2 Masons vs 2 Mafia at 9 players is relatively balanced

Add in the two neighbors, that's at least three implied named town roles in a 9 player game.

To help the mafia I provided them with a free night one mason kill. A VT d1 lynch and a VT n1 nightkill, leaving the mafia in a situation where there only CC is one other VT, leaves a sort of awkward scenario.

Of course there's neighbor WIFOM, especially with my name for the setup, but I figured 4 named roles vs. 2 mafia (essentially) goons is a bit townsided.

But if I'm overestimating that then the informed can go away. I just wanted to help the swing of the first two deaths.

I can see your argument though that day 2, ignoring neighbors, becomes 1 mason vs. 2 mafia

Informed can go away if we think it should.

There's no real meta implication that the neighbors would be town/town rather than town/scum.
It'd be implied at least one is town though, which is why I said 3 instead of 4 (mason/mason/one of the neighbors)

If it seems scumsided, maybe I give one neighbor a 1-shot Jailkeep?

I stole all of this from Quadz cause I'm lazy.

General:
  • The Site Rules apply.
  • I reserve the right to alter these rules if I deem it necessary, including retroactively enforcing new/altered rules.
  • Use
    bold text
    to communicate with me in thread, or you may send me a PM.
  • All night actions will be resolved with a modified version of Natural Action Resolution.
  • Purple is my color. Do not use it.

  • All roles have been given out by Random.org.
Game Specific:
  • This is a Normal Game, approved for normalcy and balance by PenguinPower and schadd_.
Voting/Lynching:
  • Voting will be done either using the VOTE: tag, or in this format:
    vote: Nixon
    .
  • There will be no voting trickery. If something is clearly intended to be a vote for a specific player, I will treat it as such.
  • A lynch will occur when half-plus-one of living players are voting for the same player. As soon as the hammer vote is cast, the game will enter Twilight.
  • Players may vote for No Lynch. A No Lynch will be hammered at half of living players, not half-plus-one.
  • All living players (including the lynchee) may talk in Twilight, but any voting/unvoting will not count. Twilight will last until I post the final vote count / scene.
  • Roles will be revealed at death.
  • Once dead, you are allowed a single ‘bah’ post at the beginning of the next Day Phase.
  • If there is no majority at deadline, a no-lynch will occur.
Deadlines:
  • Day phases will have a deadline of 2 weeks from the daybreak scene.
  • Day phases are extendable in the case of extenuating circumstances.
  • Night phases will have a deadline of 2 days from the lynch scene.
  • Prods will be given if a player has not posted in 48 hours.
  • A player must respond, in-thread, to a prod within 48 hours, or they will be replaced. If the 48 hours runs into Night Phase, they must PM me within the same time frame.
Don’t Be Stupid:
  • Play to your win condition.
  • Don’t use hidden or encrypted text. You may use small text, unless it is hiding game-related or important information.
  • Do not excessively insult your fellow players. Insult the play, not the person.
  • Have fun. No, really. Have fun.
