I just assumed i'd be able to pick up mafia again, but i spend a little time yesterday reading through my old games and whilst loads of it came flooding back when actualyl writing a post i got all flumuxed.
Note to all. I'm from Wales so my time zones may not match up with others brilliantly. and weekend posting will be less than during the week

I've just been prodded and I have missed one day with posting, a saturday. I said at the start of the game I was unlikely to be able to post much at the weekends. If this game requires posting every single day of the week then replace me now.

Why? That's a great way to get some dialogue going and develop reads.

I think it is terrible thing t9 do day one, all it will do is fixate people on the thomth. We aren’t going to get good reads from it, as I think everyone is allowed to look at that vote and wonder how helpful it is for town

I don't really like his playstyle and wouldn't mind him as a policy lynch, tbh. I feel like it's anti-town.

I'm generally of the belief that that sort of thing can wait until D2 though, or at least late into the D1 phase once we've gotten more discussion going.

To be honest I don't like my playstyle either it goes agaisnt the nature of this game and is way to unconventional to be fun. The game freaks me out and confuses me. I like the game though.

Regarding Thomth, I don't think he's scum, although I do agree that he's not being very useful. But I don't see why scum would bother doing such random, attention drawing moves as opposed to not doing them. I just don't really see where the scum benefit is in that, unless it's "oh, they'll think it's too dumb to be a scum move". It just feels like he's reckless rather than he's trying to get a lynch. And maybe it's just been my experience, but I don't think I've ever had a quickhammer in a newbie game from something like this.

I’m likely messing up the quote there, but I can see a new scum player being as bad as thomth has been. New town player...would they have stuck their head up s9 high.

To be honest, I literally just wanted to throw a RVS vote on the worst and I did not want the fact that my vote would bring them to L-1 to stop me from doing that.

Votes arent random when pushing someone to lynch minus one.

@NaCl My vote on the worst wasn't really a confidence type thing and I honestly was not expecting this reaction. I wasn't antispiating any reaction besides them immediately being unvoted any from L-1.

Now, among the others. I mostly feel like both Ldog and Geraintm were angling for an easy lynch on Thomth. And Zoomie hasn't really done anything, in my opinion. I would be okay to lynch Zoomie right now, but at the moment I'm not really too enthusiastic right now. I'm going to look back Geraintm in the morning and evaluate if I should be moving my vote there instead of Ldog, I'm not really sure and I'm kind of tired right now.

If it were easy, he'd be dead by now...

I'm pretty bad at identifying scum day one, i was never, ever good at it in my old games. This time, Thomth totally rubbed me up the wrong way. Of everyone playing, they are the person i think is the most scum. I also think they were not helping if they were townies either....

I've not seen anything from anyone else that really has caught my attention, there havne't been enough switching of votes to try and catch any patterns, so what else am i meant to go on?

geraintm - gerain is a bit of a wildcard; don't think he's exhibited a lot of things which are necessarily towny/difficult for scum to fake, but I feel like his approach to the game has been fairly earnest. he doesn't look like he's playing a manipulative gameplan, just kinda doing his thing.

I can't manipulate anyone, and i know i am never much use until people actualyl start dying. I nearly wrote then "I am never much cop until day 2..." and realised a possibly british saying would have sounded so weird in the context of a mafioa game

I'm always wary that people who've been playing mafia for a long ass time, and returning folks, don't tend to strongly alignment tell on day one. It kinda feels like you're following and you're comfortable with the way the gamestate is going but you're not quite ready to come out and play.

Which is to say... I expect much of you. No pressure.

Getting high scum vibes from Arkais and Nacl, could see them as a scum team due to Nacl defending Arkais, but I also feel scum would throw their buddy under the bus by now? maybe? idk...

There should never be a day one where mafia feels the need to through their partner under the bus. It doesn't clear them or anyhting, as there are 5 people on the wagon. when it is 2 or 3 then year it can help, but now with so much noise, no one will notice and too many people can also pull the same trick.

I don't see any strong reason to think they are mafia. to me, none of their posts seem expecialyl bad.
I don't think we have caught scum, i think they'd be a stronger counter wagon going on trying to save them if we had. I am not going to vote for them.

i am not reading anyone expecially strongly as scum, i wanted to lynch thomth when i placed my vote there and have not seen any better person to switch to.

Not really. I barely skimmed the last ten pages once I saw I was gone. I'd look who pushed that first wagon that got to minus one and then now on me, see the links. I'm bad day one at spotting scum, i basically think day one is a total wash and nothing of importance happens until after some deaths. Anyone who spends 30 pages analysing random votes is putting too much effort into a newbie game
