There's two separate reasons

"Claim talk will get in the way of scum hunting" is such a cold take it's potentially scummy.

Secondarily I feel like the post might have been a scumslip because he said other people's role PMs are either loosely or tightly based on the mod, but excluded himself from the dichotomy. That makes me think his role is neither tightly or loosely based on his mod because he's mafia and that has greater design constraints, mafia needs a strong man in the setup and out of the three people to get it "bows have a laser sight" is the one to get it even if it's not the most flavorful.
Even aside from that, the post seems to FYI something about how his mod was selected but he doesn't seem motivated by a concern for safeguarding his PR info and there's not going to be Vanilla in a upick to explain that to me

mine is a mod that makes skyrim more like a traditional rpg, where you don't fight a level 5 bandit if you are level 5 and a level 8 bandit if you are level 8, it's a level 8 bandit no matter what and if you're not strong enough to be in that region go murder lil rats over and over again until you're strong enough to beat it.

I think I'm o.k. with any one person not sharing the flavor of their mod if they don't think it's flexible enough like mine and Pine's, and justifying that could just be part of any eventual claim.

Well I think maybe it's just not a good enough of an idea.

For sake of argument, in a normal setup, you could have everyone claim a set of five roles they possibly are and constrain their claims to those five in massclaim later, but it isn't deemed to be a good tradeoff against giving the scum the information. Here you're not getting to handpick the X roles, and there's a concern that X might be a lot closer to one or two sometimes.

I think the occasional use of flavor cops in uPicks is a better justification than anything else

If it didn't occur at a page transition, and he was so excited about the content of Blatant's post that he jumped to page 5 to vote, I would expect the sequencing "vote blatant scum, vote warrior stone"

It triggered immediately on jjh acknowledging majority vote in post 47. It's implicit that they've been locked already, the effect of the stone occurs "for the rest of the day phase", and jjh acknowledge we've move from morning to day 1 ( he even changed the thread title ).

Ok the 08er in me wants to point out that one of the "kinds of shit" that "must be punished or they continue" is rolling town and skimming a 5 page thread even though that impairs one's ability to solve the game, so I'm not sure an angle to look at this where I shouldn't be voting you.

The special formatting on jjh's post doesn't make skimming seem particularly plausible to me. And when you skimmed, surely you looked at bolded text, and noticed stone voting had vanished and only player voting was happening?

I think I do it more as town, I seem to roll roles that care what the PRs are a lot as town, and as town I don't have partners in the scum PT that are already fishing or speculating more heavily than I think is appropriate.

TiphaineDeath is presuming you were able to answer the question because you have access to the scum PT, and can see that it isn't locked. It's not possible to view even the title or locked/unlocked status of a PT you don't have membership in.

I am not sure exactly what's happening this game, but alimdia seems a lot townier than town alimdia.

Most of it is the mission statement about laying down your life to protect Sujimichi and popsofctown. You should also list your time zone and whether you are applying as a townie or townsiding SK

I think it is very unlikely Pine shares Tiphaine Death's alignment. I don't think lazily sheeping me would be "outside of his townrange" but it's I don't think I want to be pocketed by it, because I think he's sharp enough to identify future UTRs early and pocket.
I think a TD red flip would largely exonerate him.

I don't think his current apathy is scum indicative, it is somewhat consistent with recent play, for instance, I hammered him when he was conftown last summer because I did not understand the setup, and he didn't get particularly upset about it. If I or someone like Jingle was unmoved about lynching an unclaimed slot it'd be a different story.

I wouldn't really call that prisoner's dilemma since I would round the benefit of a neighborhood to zero. It's at least as good as Chain of Command anywhere because of the dynamics of roleblocking your partner and your partner knowing you roleblocked them

I would rate the outcome for cooperation and getting betrayed as equal to eachother, and in prisoner's dilemma getting betrayed is supposed to hurt more than cooperation.

It is hard for me to call a neighborhood a positive it has never truly been evidenced that neighborhoods reliably help winrates they are just fun

I would suggest cooperating players become unable to vote for eachother the next dayphase that would be an actual mechanical benefit.
