This is my 2nd game of forum mafia. My first game was with dsjstr (DSJ).

Everyone knows that pikachu does NOT wear a hat. A sheep in wolf's clothing if I ever saw one.

1) Town - i prefer figuring out logic puzzles. I enjoy card and board games that involve hidden roles such as bang,

I also like mafia - bluffing can be fun, duh.. I love poker but I find prolonged deception can be stressful.

Specifically to out a town role from someone who contests you. Might make PR hunting easier somehow. No one took the bait though. I don't necessarily see it as scummy at this point in time. As for the questions:

a) The "finally" seems very forced
b) I don't get why its too early to tell. You give me the feelings of a player who has played mafia (in whatever form be it IRL or fast-browser based mafia) a fair bit. I'd be very surprised for someone to not know what alignment they prefer playing as.

Trying to "earn townie points" is mafia modus operandi 101. Why is this a "well done"? Town goal is to identify scum.

DP is obviously either scum or not a great player. This is probably the same with Hectic. The thing is they both seem so authentically mediocre that I would be impressed with any scum managing to fake play the way they do. I'm happy with policy lynches not on D1 and definitely not on the first day of D1. I also have reason to suspect at least one of the wagoners of being mafia. This is a very common tactic that mafia use - getting town to vote for the bad players instead of scum. Analysing the wagoners on Hectic.

Last game I played, the "placeholder vote" - "ill park my vote here for now, for no good reason at all" - sort of vote , ended up being a vote by scum.
And i think this kind of move is scummy. I think townies are more likely to change their mind and shift their votes organically, rather than b stilted, which i think is scummy.

Hectic - finding it very hard to read him. Like him posting his reads of players, but simply disagree with some of the reads. Undecided at this stage.

Arthur - p45 where he oddly dislikes reads - sitting on the fence and hedging your bets is scummy. Posting reads is pro-town, no matter how early. Scummy post.

The interplay between Hectic and Pikachu has been sending off alarms in my head. I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed it. I guess it's because all the SE's have played with each other before. Pikachu is really reaching in most of his scumreads, and seems to be crafting narratives out of nothing.

@72offsuit, honestly look at Pikachu's iso and tell me how on earth you see it as being a townread? He looks like a sharper version of my scum partner from last game.

Slight TR on DP was that:
1) Mainly I agreed with his scum-read on yourself and the explanations he provided - as per p220.
2) I agreed with him in p258 Re: luca at that stage doing 0 solving p

My scum read on hectic is pretty unimportant at the moment. We need to focus on the 1 lynch we get today. Funny enough all 3 of my scum reads have gotten townie points since my initial reads post. Natsu has gone slightly above pikachu, and hectic is still my 3rd scum read, but im not even thinking about lynching them today. The only 2 im really interested in lynching today is DP or Natsu.

I was reading natsu as scum the most from the start and between all the interactions i felt hectic was the most likely to be their partner. Its possible that Natsu's(if maf) partner really interacted with natsu..

How is elaborating a scumread on hectic irrelevant. We still have 4 days. Just because you aren;t thinking of lynching hectic doesn't mean others aren't.
Evaluating your scumreading of hectic reflects on your alignment as well as on natsu's if you think there is a significant link between them.

I don't like 72's Spy vote at the bottom of that page - it's at odds with the impression I got from Spy's recent posts, and the reasoning is pretty forced. Pikachu and Natsu have been the two most dubious slots in the game imo, so pushing both of them doesn't seem strange from my pov.

I also like how Spy is developing their reads based on further interactions, which 72 isn't taking into account.

I’m still considering the possibility that you might be Town, but you seem to have given up.

There's not much left for me to say. Several players have me massively scumread for what I think amounts to silly reasons. We'll probably lynch scum by day 2 no matter what though. Also, I'm still not actually over my sickness by any means.

What we (or at least me anyway) were looking for was more expansion on your reads of others and if you think their scumreads and townreads on others (other than on yourself) are legit in you eyes.

My impression is that you've mainly been focusing on votes and interactions on yourself.

If you are in fact town, then i guess for next game try and focus more on analysing other players reads i reckon. Though take it with a grain of salt, taking advice from a noob lol. At least for mine, i would probably have town read you more.

Idk whats going on in this game... I can kinda see Detective pikachu and dkkoba being a scumteam. Its just DP has talked so much and DkKoba has talked so little. My previous experiences with dkkoba has been alot of talking from them on each occasion. However, both of those games were limited replacement type games so i cant really bank on that too much. And they did kinda address that they are trying to slow down on here. Which would make sense when i factor in the last 2 experiences.

I want to give my new Reads list

Luca is still my top town read
Round 1 is still my second as well.
John Marv is my town null read atm
72 and Dk are both null scum lean to me still. 72 i kinda dont understand why they are still scumreading me. Im more iffy on them.

My bottom 3 have gained town points but not even those town points were enough to catch up to the null reads of 72 and DK

The longer this day goes the less im gonna be sure of anything. We need some kind of information. We absolutely dont want a PR out on day 1 so thats out of the question. We need to show intent on somebody for real. We havent had anyone in real danger of being lynched.

This seems like a very reasonable summary. I do get townie vibe from this post. Am also wary of DK, the lurking after being TR.

Your willingness to change your mind is I guess a townie thing to do, updating your reads as you go, even if there were not many changes.

At this stage i think I now prefer a Natsu lynch, though ill await on John Marv's views of the game.

I don’t really like how Marv writes the entire Luca v Pikachu interaction off as NAI - that just seems an entirely lazy way to skip over it without having to take it into consideration.

Wow, I think you are onto something here, you have basically succinctly summarised what I was feeling about Natsu from that post onwards, but i felt if I called that a scummy post, so early on I would've copped heaps of flak, and possibly have been scumread for picking at straws.
