The reason I think this is because ascetic is a helpful utility for scum and Pine also implied that he's some kind of PR in addition to being an ascetic enabler. I'm just setup speccing here, but that would give scum an interesting dilemma to deal with if that ever comes out and one of them was ascetic.

Scum could withhold their ascetic claim, but then they're likely to get caught in the lie whereas claiming it right away might give them townpoints.

Look, if you're town, obvtown. You should know by now that thinking about how you feel comes off worse than falling flat on your face. I didn't directly say so in the beginning but I explicitly said out there reads are a-ok.

the fundamental thing is that my stated reads list was literally RNGed.

I'm purposely playing obtusely because what I posted earlier as Alisae's draft and play strategy is exactly what I would expect from em in this type of game, one with a lot of stronger town players with just as much paranoia potential. What I would do is plan around trying to maximize the paranoia and proactively shutting down as many avenues of town being able to properly find each other as possible, hence why I expect the general idea is that Alisae separated the playerlist into "Drafted", "Killed", and "Neutralized" lists.

I know that I wasn't picked to be scum, so I obviously wasn't put into that list. The interesting thing is that I can be put into either of the other two lists, since I both know that Alisae has the awareness of my threat level to want to have me killed in a lot of scenarios, and also know that e is aware that I have exploitable weaknesses (via my breakdowns in the YAYVIDEOGAMES hydra) that would push me into the "Neutralize" camp.

my hope was that I would be a general null scumread floating along on day one without giving away too many of my thoughts so that it would be all that more weird in the case I get nightkilled on N1 (since I'd expect that Alisae would already have a good idea of his first 2-3 kills in most scenarios)... which gives town some interesting information considering that I'm not a popular townread. Plus, in the case that I'm on the fence between the kill and neutralize list, or there are other players in the kill list that are higher priority right away, I'd get more content to work with and a nightkill that would help me narrow down what Alisae was thinking with eir draft order and general angle they're playing the game with.

buuuuuuut I was pressured several times into giving reads, so I'd hoped that the reads list I put out looked bad enough to get scrutiny I could analyze as well as stop me from being townread enough to be an obvious nightkill going into night one. I died night one in AvP and I can't be satisfied with my performance in that game, so it would be kinda nice to be able to play the mindgames with the scum treestump that I wasn't able to do in the last one. I wanted to get enough wiggle room to hopefully make an actual impact in the game before my inevitable death and now I'm not sure it's particularly avoidable anymore honestly

if it helps though, I have four slots I'm pretty certaint are town and four slots I'm scumreading. There's one slot I'm a lot more certain on than others, but I'm avoiding outing it at the moment because I haven't entirely ruled out them being a mason yet.

I'm not outing my reads at this point because I still see more value in watching the game unfold as an observer rather than an active participant.

My thoughts in this moment are as follows:

OkaPoka tonally feels scummy but I don’t see the scum motivation to try to start a new wagon on me here. Realistically, at least one, if not both, of the leading wagons are on town and he’d already set himself up decently to join either one, especially s+w. Obv they could be scum together but I digress.

On the other hand, I think a scumread on me is pretty bad. I think it seems kinda easy atm because the game is clearly moving just slightly too rapidly for me to stay caught up and participate in real time, which is where I get my best reads. Behind the 8 ball like this leaves me gimped. Still, idk, when I can see me coming off as scum I’m honest about it but I don’t see that here.

On the other hand I REALLY do not see the scum motivation in gunning so heavily for FL day 1, who I think is town.

That’s a lot of words to say Oka has original pushes, which I like. But otherwise is scummy. I don’t want to vote there today unless it’s the only viable wagon I don’t hate.
