I'm going to note here since people may not have considered this, but it's true that by EV standards, the scumteam have the advantage.

However, if the scumteam are put on the back foot early on in the game, it becomes extremely hard to recover from it compared to a normal game. This game is hugely momentum-based and it's generally the alignment that gets the advantage early on that tends to win if I had any guess on it.

The alignment that gets the advantage early in what sense? Because I mean, we helled town and heavened scum the first two days. Certainly scum had the advantage early. Town just got good collective reads as a result.

you can't just look at the concrete results to judge this

town definitely had the advantage after hell 1 because heavening two scum after that phase was a very tall order

I'd even say that the fact that Ame being heavened was gamewinning for town is evidence of that being true tbh

I actually judged at some point that our only chance of winning was to hell popsofctown on hell 1

actually I did make a plan to have the order be Amrun -> STRQ -> Looker -> Ame at one point

but I think I abandoned that before I could detail it anywhere because of gamestate changes

the way day one turned out was very hard to find a winning plan with

tbf a non-zero amount of my problems when playing scum is that I come up with all these ideas when I'm not in a position to write it all down, so I tend to lose big chunks of it by the time I actually am
