Google tells me a normal conversation is 60 dB, so right, I guess?
This has "conversation" at 60 too, with 40 being ~whisper/fridge... I'm quite curious how the other team guessed 43 o.O
Ohhh you guys had gone for the % after mapping the scale to 0-100
Eh, I think our team should just go for the raw value - so, I'd still say right.

100 is Loud, and 60 dB is on the quieter side, so talking would be ≥60 (not scaling this to 1-100). Why would 60dB being moderate mean "talking" is quieter - the opposite, no?
My guess is "right" precisely for thisIn post 556, Xtoxm wrote:well, the other 'obvious' thing is not to scale it to 100
talking is ~60db, so guess right?

What if this is just general knowledge to Not Known 15In post 558, Xtoxm wrote:i kinda think NK didnt use a chart
Woa! So did you scale the decibel scale to 1-100 or something or just gave a gut-number, NK?
Google isn't particularly helpful, Martensite has an associated 700 cap Brinell hardness (and that scale goes up to 4600). I thought Diamonds could be a reference point but they don't even have a Brinell value, their hardness is defined in "Mohs" as 10.0
If we're going by {top Martensite Brinell}/{top Brinell in wiki} we'd have 700/4600=15.21 (and 100 minus that) but eh, that feels too low and idk what denominator reference point to take

Eh, probably. I'm wondering if there's a reason NSG didn't go with a value from here since that scale's limits are pretty defined. I felt that "Martensite" was specific enough that there's an exact number somehow? Dunno. In post 585, Knightmare491 wrote:You're massively overthinking this.
You will have to do 100-15 since 0 is hard and 100 is soft.
Maximum hard = 4600 on the scale
Martensite hard = 700 on the scale
Relative Martensite hardness with 100 being hardest = 15
Relative Martensite hardness with 0 being hardest = 85
Yes it isn't *soft*, but it's much softer than the relatively hardest substance on a wiki scale which lists a numeric value of this alloy, so we get 85. So it's not a matter of confusion, just that the outlier 4600 value in the scale makes everything soft in comparison, and it's reasonable to assume NSG was going for a specific number in this manner.

lmao were we supposed to math this somehow or just guess "pretty hard"?
If it were almost literally anyone else I'd go with that logic, yeah. But I thought NSG in particular would mean for us to make some precise calculation given the obscurity of the clue.
I'm just noting that when I'm psychic I'll go math, heh, although yes - the answer should also make sense with the assumption of no math used.
Looks like a joke to me!Knightmare491 wrote:This sounds like she doesn't like math.In post 530, northsidegal wrote:the math meta is a menace to society
The forum style and extremely slow pace of this does make me feel like math chart gaming is a fun way of approaching itIn post 612, northsidegal wrote:i don't enjoy the math meta because i think it turns this game from being a one of psychology into a one of whether or not you can find some chart that the psychic looked up online
More math! More math!
I wouldn't mind, although probably later I'd try out Math-gaming wavelength. Googling and piecing things together is fun

Sounds like a challenge! In post 622, lilith2013 wrote:edit: I could also ban googling for the psychic only, I think that would work better.
Let's play this over Discord next board games session!
I feel like it's obviously 100 but seeing as I've been on the exact opposite end every time so far I actually wouldn't mind 0
You also feel there are more obvious clues for the 0-10 range, no? What do you think is the answer?
Only if it was spot on, if the answer is 98 or something then you'd have to still guess left/right first and we still get 3 points or so

Yeah this was my reasoning - bucket "Yoga" first and "power" then tilts it to the end of the range. In post 774, Xtoxm wrote:yeah i think so. its yoga which is going to be like, sub 25, then power yoga to push us a bit away from zeroIn post 772, Auro wrote:Solid 20?

I thought it'd be amusing to just give "cheese" lul, NSG figured it's a perfect low 20In post 874, Knightmare491 wrote:Seriously Auro? That bad of a clue?
I'm sorry but I think that's a little unfair.
I judged the type of cheese wouldn't really help (I personally don't think any "type" gives more precision to the answer). NSG pretty much arrived at the correct answer following the same thought process as I did, so I don't think the clue is as horrible as you make it out to be? Feels like a solid clue tbh, heheh
I'm not super concerned about win/loss and I'm just having fun each clue for either side.

Not sure he'd go off lifespans for this though
And yeah this is my favorite clue so far I think!

I'm not, so think twice before trusting what I say!
I dunno about F1, so I delegate my guess to Knightmare - if you bold "Guess: X" I'll just copy paste that
I think this definitely qualifies for 75+? Steep incline during a rain makes it hard enough.
Multiple sorta difficults = pretty difficult? Idk lol.
Really sorry guys, Ghost Peppers *were* the spiciest thing a decade ago but were surpassed by the Carolina Reaper and Pepper X which were significantly spicier, so I thought that would push things back to the 10-15 range :X
Carolina Reaper / Pepper X?In post 1159, Menalque wrote:WHAT IN YOUR MIND WAS AT THE ZERO END???!?!!!!
Ghost peppers (aka bhut jolokia) also have an awesome level of heat, and are one of the original superhot peppers, but the Carolina Reaper takes that heat to a whole new level. Ghost peppers range in heat from 855,000 – 1,041,427 Scoville Heat Units (SHU), so the hottest Carolina Reaper is more than twice as hot.
Ehhhh he did do some bad stuff, at least a solid 10 points' worth I'd say. I'd guess 40 to be safe.In post 1165, Hectic wrote:Darth Vader seems like a good lad - hard working and has a great work ethic. 30 would be my guess.

I think this is <50 because it's an internetz product, but towards the high end of it since IIRC it was at its peak ~8-10 years ago so I'd want to guess 40.
I'm still unsatisfied. I'm not budging from 37!!
Does "Common vs Rare" differ from "Common vs Unique", with the latter meaning how often new phones are bought, as opposed to how often a single person would buy new phones?
Because in that case I'd imagine this to be pretty common.
