Yeah, I was really confused when the consensus was around 80 when I checked this morning.

I'd probably argue somewhere around 25. It's pretty stereotypically fantasy-like but there are other more fantastical things.

Ooh, perfect! I was rooting for you to pick just below 50 in the background haha
In the PM, I wrote:I take 50 as the average human weight. I think while the graph from 0 to 100 might be logarithmic, around the middle 20 it's probably more linear since they're basing around their own weight.
which meant that this is spot on!
In post 510, Xtoxm wrote:im not sure what be the benchmark 50. human weight maybe? which is like 55kg avg.
in which case i could see toilet being under. we could go like 45.
Apologies if the clue is quite obtuse! Perhaps "a 13-year-old" might be more straightforward, but I looked for things that weigh around 100 pounds and the toilet came first

Hmm, I thought 40's a good guess, so I'm not sure where to go, actually. My gut kinda says lower because it's quite easy to imagine things that are louder than conversations, but not so much for quieter things.
The picture even says that 60 dB is moderate to quiet, so it's probably closer to the quiet end.

So, apart from myself, we have one strong right (Auro), one leaning right (Tatsuya), one strong left (Knightmare), one leaning left (Xtotm), and one who thinks it's left but would advise on going right based on past records (northsidegal).

Personally, I'd vouch for left. It's interesting because I'd provide "talking" as a clue if I had received something around 40, so it's clear that the psychic had a different sense of scale in mind. Basing on that, I really don't think talking is something you'd classify as being loud. 60's too high of a number for "talking" to be the clue, imo. It implies that it's more loud than quiet, and I don't buy that. Human speech isn't that loud in the grand scheme of things.

Then again, the guess was 43, and it's possible that the answer is something like 50. I could totally see how the psychic would designate human speech as a baseline, similar to how I designated human weight as the baseline last time.

We do still have a day, so more discussion is welcome. The balance tips slightly to the left, currently.

I'll probably forget to lock if I don't do it now, so let's go with the majority vote.

I'm very unsure about how to approach this.

The first sentence on the Wikipedia article is "Martensite is a very hard form of steel crystalline structure", so I'm inclined to guess low. But then when I try to search for "hardest minerals" or "hardest metals", I don't seem to find anything on it.

The clue's really specific, so there must be a lead that she wants us to take, but the obvious one would be 85, and surely she would give a more stereotypically soft clue for a number that high?

I would think it's in the teens with that kind of description.

Not much point in delaying, let's lock in a guess. Think I'll go for the lower end of the range.

Guess: 19

I'm for 95 as well.
I also agree with shiki's suggestion. It'd be fun to see an unexpected card-category pair.

To me, there's an obvious guess to make if we just wanna secure 2 points, and that's 35, which would cover bullseyes from 20-25 up to 45-50.

But I feel like I should at least try to make a proper guess. If he just wanted to clue in an F1 racer, I'd think around 25, however seeing the discussion from Knight has convinced me to shift it to the right a little. In a regular round I'd guess 30.

You know the game high-low where you guess a number and the one being guessed says higher or lower? The wordiness of the clue made me think that.
Starting from 50,
- lightly jogging up (lower: guess 25)
- a kind of steep incline (higher: guess 37)
- in semi-cold weather (lower: guess 31)
- while it's raining (higher: guess 34)

idk tho it's a very handwavy kind of logic and i'm not even sure i got the high/low correctly

That's quite gentle to me. I'd go 25 since she did specify "polite" and "constructive", so I'd imagine she wanted us to go more to the left than usual.

If the answer is lower than 4 then we probably wouldn't have been allowed to even guess
I think it's to the right.

I feel like when asked to name a villain, a lot of people would say Darth Vader right off the bat. I'd probably guess 75 based on that, but the discussion seems to hint that he's not as villainy as other villains, so perhaps lower?

I guess I don't object to 60-65.

Not super confident on this clue, to me it's on the flexible side, I just don't know how far down I should go. 30?

Oh no, I'm sorry, I thought I still have a few hours.
Spoiler: synopsis
I've just finished watching the movie; it's basically a story in three acts.

The first is their introduction and their (mis)adventures on the train. Three brothers met on a train in India to partake on a spiritual journey. This is where most of the comedy is. The brothers have trust issues and when one leaves, the other two talked behind his back. They accidentally let a snake loose and almost got booted off the train. They got into a fight over who's their dad's favourite and did get booted off the train. They contemplated about it that night.

The second is when they rescued a group of children who fell to the water because of a snapped bridge. One fell through a waterfall and passed away. They took the child back to the village. The family tried to deal with grief.
On the funeral, there's a flashback to the brothers' dad's funeral. Their mother didn't attend. The oldest was told about this but lied to the other two. This is the reason he wants to go to India: to bring her home from nunship.

The third is their meeting with their mother. They'd cancelled a flight last-minute to do so. They told her they miss her; she told them the past's in the past; they said they're still not over it. After the four of them looked at each other for a while, they agreed to "try to enjoy each other's company in the morning" before she left the next day. The brothers went to blow on a peacock's feather to symbolise a new beginning (?) and caught a train in a similar way as the start of the movie (running to catch it), throwing their dad's bags in the process.

Overall, while I probably wouldn't call it dramatic, I think the emphasis is more on the drama side than the comedy side.

Sorry for the delay. (Happy scumday, lilith!)
There was a long piece of text here but that's because I thought that the clue goes hand in hand with what you think of teams in general, when in reality they can be two separate opinions. In that case, I think 30 is a good spot for it. I'll lock it later if there are no objections.

I haven't played it but I've heard of it. I can vouch for it being pretty popular a decade ago. 30 might be good?
