Every mechanic you add to vanilla mountainous/vanilla nightless negatively impacts standard mafia/dayplay. But it adds some type of fresh variety to the game. The key is to figure out how to add mechanics that are meaningful and harm vanilla mountainous/nightless as little as possible. In post 1380, Alduskkel wrote:isn't the core concept of this setup just inherently swingy
like i legitimately don't understand how this isn't just inferior to a standard mafia game setup
CoC needs work to mitigate its "harms"
I haven't read this game, but this revision is significantly more townsided than previous versions of Chain of Command, and we had caveat/knowledge that it might not be enough, and scum still won. That's how a tuning process can go.
I think a version of CoC with a heavy emphasis on killing roles would be a promising direction for the setup to go due to the way getting an order to kill player X can work out.
