I've been playing off and on for years. It was never really a problem until I found myself staying up for 3 days straight while posting my way to 1500 posts in a newbie.

I had one last hurrah before detoxing and entering the program.

I'm only in this game and I am looking to reset. I think I can handle a newbie. I mean it's just one game right. One game. Thats all.

RVS has a mind of its own. You can't force it, you just have to strap on and enjoy the ride. Why are you so intent on moving out of RVS while doing so little to actually progress the game in any way shape or form? Do you often key in on low hanging fruit and threaten the thread to play at surface level only? Asking for a friend.

Can someone tell me how D1 lynch is not a purely probabilistic kill?

Flips give us information that we need to complete the puzzle that this game is.

Right now all town members know only their own role and alignment, while scum knows each others and all of ours. By pushing wagons we are able to see who votes where and who doesn't. Once we have a few flips we'll have a better understanding of the game and we can use our powers of deduction and observation to figure out who scum is to a smaller and more manageable group to murder systematically during the day.

Or is that the point? Making people want to lynch to squeeze even more discussion out, just accepting we're killing a town for no reason?

All town doesn't need to be alive at the end of the game for them to win. Dead town wins with the town the same as alive people do. I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this, but we aren't all making it out of this alive buddy.

speaking of ironcat, im on the fence. Post #193 he says he’s okay with votato’s disagreement. I am less suspicious of people who aren’t afraid of standing in opposition to someone like votato who has strong, and well thought out opinions because it reads to me that he isn’t trying to cover up something – his opinion is what it is. His exchange with fish made him look even less suspicious, perhaps only in contrast to whatever was going on with fish and his frustrations. Then again, #243 was a childish rebuttal, but that doesn’t scream scum to me necessarily.
I don’t know how to read brass, votato or Lilith. Brass and votato seem genuinely interested in seeing the game progress in a dynamic manner, while helping people learn along the way. if one of them happen to be scum, they haven’t seemed to let on that they are going to take advantage of people’s feelings of ‘trust worthiness’….yet, but I guess that’s the point, right? Yeah I had this thought too. the argument seems overblown, like they are both really angry at each other in a way that comes across as exaggerated.

I don't like when people act like they know me and can read my mental state in a few posts in an online forum game. That's insulting in so many ways. And I told people to ask about me for a few reasons. The first is that I want to see if the person does it and who they ask and how they do it. As I've said Brass is the only person I really know in this game, so it would make sense to ask him. Second objective is to see what Brass says about me and his read on me so far in relation to people's reads.

So me telling you to ask about me serves the purpose, to me at least, in getting a read on you and how stubborn and potentially biased against me. It has the added benefit of possibly getting a read on Brass, but I don't think you really have any interest in reading me correctly. Picking me as a target is a bad choice though. It's going to end worse for you than it ever will for me.

I had an opening post from when the game first started, and then a prodge saying id be here. Then in 194 i clearly indicated that I would be reading and then did so and posted. So I agree that you dont have much of a base of knowledge to work with in regards to what is normal and abnormal for me personally, and I dont recommend trying to fit me into any prefab categories.

I need to figure out who i keep mistaking for brass, because i was sure wed played recently. I play a hyperaggressive day 1 because I tend to die a lot of n1. My goal on day 1 is to cause as much shit as i can to see where the dust falls and who starts to go in on my and for what reason.

Has anyone ever heard of a Slayer's Gambit?

My d1 method is a spin off of that tactic. Basically you act scummy af on d1 to draw the ire of the scummers because im giving them something relatively easy to latch on to as a scum read. The problem for scum comes on d2 when theyve kept me alive overnight with the intention of pushing me as the mislynch on d2 as a result of my play from d1. When I flip the script and drop knowledge bombs scum realize that they done fucked up by thinking they could get me lynched and then we usually win the game.

This isn't directed to me, but are you trying to act scummy? You are giving town something relatively easy to latch on to as a scum read too. It does shortlist the potential scummers but explicitly stating your strategy defeats the whole purpose. Is this some kind of an attempt to hide scummy behaviour by calling it a strat?

Im saying that i play the way that i do on day 1 for a reason. Im not here to spoon feed you that reason, and I get if i get some heat for how I play. I can deal with heat because all it is is people being salty over my attitude and thats NAI.

When people try to build cases on me they tend to crumble because they are built on lies and misconceptions and those are things i can dismantle. Or they keep saying the same thing over and over again while my positions change and evolve over time with more information out there.

Low hanging fruit is the idea that the easiest things to grab are the ones that are closest to the ground. In this game is taken to mean that the people who act scummy or do scummy things are the low hanging fruit. So to go after that is going after something that is going to give the least resistence and gain the most possible traction because "Hey! That was really scummy! Look at how scummy that was." Its the same reason newbies get a lot of heat when they do newbie things, but you decide if it was a newb scum or newb town thing to do.

Right now all town members know only their own role and alignment, while scum knows each others and all of ours. By pushing wagons we are able to see who votes where and who doesn't. Once we have a few flips we'll have a better understanding of the game and we can use our powers of deduction and observation to figure out who scum is to a smaller and more manageable group to murder systematically during the day.

Or is that the point? Making people want to lynch to squeeze even more discussion out, just accepting we're killing a town for no reason?

I think that there is a good chance that Freds scum who is comfortable with letting us rip into each other, because we kinda are.

Also the idea that he didnt want to comment on anything i said because he feared my wrath, even after i had dropped the mask and started playing my day 2 mode on day 1. It shows a lack of wanting to sort or any attempt to even appear to be sorting people.

With that said, as I have prior stated; if you look at my early postings those are made in such a way that is going to illicit responses from people. It is a way to get out of RVS pretty quickly and seamlessly because people either get it and stay away from me, or they dont and they engage. I can then slap and poke and prod the people who lashed out at me because I know im town and they are either misguided town or scum looking for an easy push to look town.

After i try to sort those people I can then look at the people who stayed away from me and what they were focused on instead, because they are either town i need to work with and sheep or they are scum who know that im town and knew that pushing me would be a bad look for them later on when I flip green.

Normally I don't let up on my shit day 1 because I have a safety net in someone who knows me and knows how i play and can stave off some of my attackers or at least give me a leg to stand on thats not my own.

Come day 2 we can use the flips we got off the lynch and the nk, if one occurs, and use the info i got from day 1 to lay out some pieces of the puzzle that this game is and we can start to figure out what is out of place and why. Also we let our prs do some work and they can help us out later on.

We have the potential to have more than 1 pr, but we dont really want scum to know what prs are in the game because they can prioritize their night kill attempts based on whats going to do the most damage to town. If they dont know which PR someone is then they dont know if they are killing a cop or a neighbor. We want them to have the least amount of info that we can give them while still allowing us to sort each other and kill scum.

If we tell them all our secrets then we are fucked, if we hold our cards close to our chest we keep them guessing.

Uh... I think it's worse to claim PR because scum would still kill townPR!freddie but no one would be able to counterclaim scum!freddie, whereas if you claim the name then there's an opportunity for counterclaim by town PR. town!freddie gets killed either way.

If we had freddie claim then they would know to shoot him or not. If we had him claim PR they have to guess whether to kill him or not and have no ability to maneuver over night.
