Yes. Just because in the last set up gibus and I were masons, we have no confirmation that we are in the same set up.

Its strange that he's calling out possible mason pairs when town has no interest in outing PRs, or the lack thereof.

In mafia, the extra information that scum teams have is their biggest advantage, the fact is, as town, we need to work to deprive the scum of what little information we have that they do not, while also working to find scum.

Why is it bad for town to out masons? It can help in elimination so early lynches can be more accurate.

Because the PRs can reveal when they are actually up for lynches.

It's not town's job to say "This is the setup we are in, let's not lynch the PRs these are our PRs."

By outing PRs in the main thread, we are now making Mafia's job easier if you are right. Also, the fact is that now, if you are right, and one of them dies and is a mason, we do not have shit to go on tomorrow based on the NK. We would have been able to look at who the NK is and say "Who is most likely to kill this person?" if they are a PR, "Who was likely to guess they were a PR?"

That goes out the window.

And yeah Brass I already voted on Gibus a while back, and I talked about my intent why then.

Intent to hammer is basically, when someone is a vote away from being lynched, you state that you intend to put up the final vote and end the day.

Since I'm supposed to be an SE and help teach people the game, my comment was just to not vote but state intent since Gibus was L-1.

He no longer is, but anyone on day 1 that quickhammers (i.e. doesn't state intent first) should be viewed with heavy suspicion.

Also, there is a good lesson to be learned that if you know you are putting someone to L-1, an announcement of the same is considered to be standard. I am personally bad at counting in bigger games, so, I will sometimes announce that I think it's L-1 even if I'm not sure. I'm not holding that against CopyKat here, personally, because I do not think Copykat was aware.

There are a couple of people attacking each other. Say if one of them turns out scum, wouldn't we immediately suspect the attacker?

If someone leads a lynch on scum, I think it's natural to assume that the people who lynched scum are town because they wouldn't want to lynch their own teammate and would instead try to defend their teammate from being lynched.. Bussing subverts the natural assumption so we can no longer assume that scum would always protect their teammate from being lynched.

There's various ways to look at the wagons. Generally Scum do bus on this site, however, in a newbie game there are only 2 so bussing day 1 is not generally a good idea especially early in day 1.

I'm probably weird for thinking that newbie games should just be a super simple open setup where PRs are determined by chance and not in a way that involves a logic table

It feels like newbies aren't learning the skills which will be super relevant in other games on site because so much of newbie games devolve into logic table setup speculation
