general:

- Please adhere to the site rules.
- Do not discuss this game of mafia outside of this thread.
- Day phases will last 2 weeks (or until a lynch is achieved).
- Night Phases will last 48 hours maximum. On any given night, if all players PM me that they are okay to speed up the night, it will end sooner.
- During night phase, no talking may be done in the thread.
- Do not quote PM's from the mod at all (real or fabricated).

This includes specific timestamps; please ask me if you're uncertain whether something breaks this rule.

Paraphrasing is acceptable.
- If you have any questions about your role, or the game, feel free to PM the mod.
- "Bah" posts are not allowed.
- If you break any of these rules, you will probably be modkilled.

voting / player actions:

- Vote either with vote tags (VOTE: schadd) or with bold (

). Note that I didn't include the underscore in my username; you may choose to use a string that will uniquely identify a player to me instead of the exact thing.
- Don't try to confuse me with your votes.
- A lynch will occur once a majority decision is reached. If no majority is reached by deadline, then I will select whichever result has the most votes, or choose one randomly where there is a tie.
- Following a lynch, it is twilight. You may continue to post until I lock the thread and declare it night.

activity:

- You are expected to post at least once every 48 hours. If you haven't posted for 48 hours, I shall prod you. If you do not respond to the prod within 24 hours (either in thread if it's Day, or via PM during the Night) then I will replace you.
- As well, if you require more than three prods, I will force-replace you.

- No impossible/hard to read text, or cryptography. For example, I would prefer that no font size smaller than the one you're reading now be used.
- The mod may make mistakes - please point out any mistakes gently. Mistakes will be corrected where possible, but sometimes mistakes are made that cannot be reversed. These will stand as final to be commiserated over after the game.
- If you need to get the mod's attention, either PM me, or bold the text you wish to draw to my attention.
- I reserve the right to alter/remove/add any rules as I see fit. You will, of course, be notified if that happens, however.

SETUP:

this is a more-vanilla variant of partition mafia; there are 10 vanilla town, 3 mafia goons, and mafia will only be allowed to make one nightkill on the first night. lynches are carried out as a selection of one of three groups to merk each day, which are chosen by mafia the previous and form a "partition" of the living players, i.e. each of them is in one of the groups.

your faction is responsible for forming a partition each night. i will take whatever the last bolded proposition is, as long as it places every living player (or every player that will be living come morning) in one of the three groups, and no groups are empty. you may ask me randomize the order of the groups and the players within the groups. if i don't get a valid partition i will create one randomly.

on the first night, you may also select someone to be killed.

you win when you control half the vote during a day phase, or when nothing can stop that from happening.

please confirm by proposing a partition for day 1 (or affirming another suggestion)

WAGH role PMs are so easy. i should do vanilla setups like this more often. starting with 11/13 confirms and mafia have a consensus about the d1 partition.

other notes: any given night will automatically be a fast night as soon as the mafia are in accord about the partition choice (and nightkill for n1) and they can also ask for me to randomize the list

First impressions: i feel that it is unlikely scum placed 2 of themselves in group 2, or 2 of themselves in group 3

That seems like a lot of risk, because at a glance you'd expect us to probably pick group 2 or 3 for the lynch, and it'd be hard to stop it if one of those groups gained traction. all it would take is one scummy member in the group and you'd lose that group and 2/3rds of the scumteam

Whereas if you placed 2+ scum inside group one, it'd likely be easier to steer the lynch away from one to one of the smaller groups. after all, there's at least 5 town in group one and im sure at least some of them would not want to die

I just realized while writing this that if we lynch group one, and there's zero scum in there, we lose the game immediately. ack!

We should consider lynching group 1 only if we're confident in townreading everyone in groups 2 and 3. Otherwise the risk is pretty high

Out of the people in those two groups, I believe I can read clidd and I could read Mohab at one point years ago

I just realized while writing this that if we lynch group one, and there's zero scum in there, we lose the game immediately. ack!

Actually I just realized if there's exactly 0 or 1 scum in group 1 and we nuke that group today, then we'd also lose immediately because scum get a nightkill on the first night, leaving the game at 2-2 on day 2
