hmm in general im not a fan of it. at least not on day 1. the only thing we gain from claiming is associations, and we dont want to be speculating based on associations pre-flip. so day 2 we can do it if we want, but today nono. day 1 scum are somewhat in the dark, but day 2 scum know who all the pairs are so at that point you lose nothing by claiming.

i feel like people always put too much effort into gimmicking a given setup and too little time scumhunting.

Scum knows a lot more than town knows right now, claiming lovers evens the field.

Right now both scum are manipulating their lover, best to know who they may be manipulating.

so this is the only post where you give any reason to scumread sleeper. and i feel like claiming noob is a noobtell more than a scumslip. i did the same thing as a newbie. I was already planning to call you out for the way you were pushing so hard at sleeper for this, but then sleeper said we're lovers and now you're coming at me too. 8 players, paired off into 4 lover PT's. 2 of these PT's contain 1 townie and 1 scum, the other 2 are both town/town.

Sleeper makes a questionable first post which I jump right on, I then jump on you(votato) about how you postulate that scum will know the lovers anyway on D2(as pointed out, somewhat inadvertently, by Genghis).

I know how this set up works, both of you can't be scum.....but God Dammit both of you have been the most scummy, so your lover pair has the most scum equity as I have kept saying,

Here's my stance on the Mr. Khan/drew situation.

I don't like Khan's 50 (if I mislink, it's the one with the messed up quote) due to not understanding how the hell the quote was messed up that badly. However, I confess that isnt AI on it's own. What I think is scummy is that Khan prioritized pushing the slip without addressing the mess up quote at the same time drew begun to push.

In my eyes, I can see how scum!Khan did that to fuel drew suspicions of votato if drew is town. I dont really get the associated read yet, since I'm not sure why scum would go through the hoopla of faking a scumslip on someone yet made such a big blunder quote wise as well. I also don't buy it was coordinated over Drew's confusion that it was me with the slip.

And Pooky, you are somewhat correct on strategy, but you also want to look at what lovers have the most scum equity between the two.

Using the key players in the competing wagons:

Raya/Drew...... obviously you think I a scum, but no one can honestly say they have a scum read on Raya.

Sleeper/votato......Sleeper has been independently scummy, votato has been potentially pocketing Sleeper

Now, I am looking at this through my eyes, but lynching me also gets rid of someone basically universally town read(a valuable thing in this set up) and leaves a lover pair(sleeper/votato) with lots of suspicion behind them.

In our PT Ray has been very open with reads about why she distrusts me, and has open to me explaining myself and my reads. I also get no sense of manipulation or doing something to please me.

votato is in the mindset for getting a mislynch today, which is why he thinks scum will know all the pairs tomorrow. If he's town, he would consider what happens the other 50% of the time when scum is lynched - which he should be aiming for.

i dont think this is the scumslip you're looking for. you're assuming a random lynch. is scum just refuses to bus, 5/6 townies all have to agree on a scum lynch, including 1 townie to self-vote. a mislynch is all but assured today. the game gets interesting tomorrow.

I was spectating this game, and props to Genghis for nailing this obvious scumslip. Having meta on both town and scum!Drew and Raya being painfully obvtown, I had them as the pure t/t pair. Sleeper was also blatantly obvtown. Holden did fool me though but considering I really couldn’t be confident that scum was in the Pooky/Bugs pair, I don’t really understand why everyone was so convinced Holden/Tux were the t/t pair. I also thought Tex was townier than Holden.

Thank you everyone for playing the game, I do plan on modding this setup again! In addition to a large theme I've been working on.

For the next game I am adjusting the deadlines to 7 days on day 1 and 5 days on day 2+. Deadlines here felt really short even if they never mattered. I am trying to find a balance that allows games to move quickly and I am still not sure what that is given that number is different for every player base.

I agree the first day should be longer then following days, in my experience in this setup(including here) after D1 the days go quickly.

Also, would love to see a variant of this setup with 10 players, the extra two players being a 3p cult.

But I am just a whore for shoving cults in every setup.
