Hey everyone! I just finished a game as scum! So this should be interesting.

I think we are going to see some classic Vi craziness with roles, so this should be interesting. This looks like a great team though!

Also, I totally regret getting Blair into this game now. She copped two of my scum mates in that game and highly suspected me in the dead thread. I'll make jokey with her D1, but we should plan to get her off the board quick probably.

.

I'd assume Reck knows about all the trackers. Question is if we should just avoid most interaction with him D1 since he knows, we know etc....

I'm guessing some of the other trackers are dual abilities or modified? Like maybe a vig-tracker kills the person they track or some such silliness. We may want to think of some fakes to breadcrumb early.

I don't mind it. Having just finished a scum game that went to a LyLo where is had about a 5% chance of winning was kind of exhausting, but I guess I'm also freshly in that scum mindset.

Hello mid game turn we need to watch for. The folks who have actually been playing recently (newer players, ABR, etc) may grasp whatever this means faster than me!

I might play a little more loose just to contradict my playstyle in that scum game.

We should also maybe figure out a hard bus plan as a backup if things go sideways. I'm always ok being the sacrificial lamb, so don't hesitate to smack talk my momma if you need to.

Nah, that's a fail wagon for sure.

I think the hardest thing about all us old folks is that most of us are kind of rusty at playing...and we all mostly like each other. Getting a real wagon going today is going to be a precarious venture for sure.

This strategy of all the scum mildly fighting each other on D1 is kind of interesting actually. If the town lands on a mislynch without us today, the WIFOM will be through the roof.

Nice plays so far Auro. I think your more frequent posting is keeping players from pinning you down.

ABR is going to go in hard on this false dichotomy lynch. It would be great if someone came in (maybe Porkens or UT?) and started a third wagon. I'm probably going to lay low and pretend I've been too busy to keep up for minute.

There's really no reason for my wagon, so any defense or questioning I post is going to be seen as "see look at that scum flailing!"

I think I have a good plan of attack here formulating in my head. I might let this simmer a bit longer because the more people sheep onto it, the worse they are going to look. I just need to hit the right point between a big wagon and being forced to claim.

Farside you should do whatever feels natural for you. I won't attack you for it really either way. I think you're in the strongest position for us.

There are a lot of players who will skate by this game with doing relatively little and get called town. It's partly why I stopped playing back in the day :P It's very annoying as either alignment.

Blair may be ill-suited for the game in that regard, but we shall see. I'm not sure why she hasn't let go of the Starbuck thing.

It has occurred to me that we should be thinking of ways to use our tracking abilities to generate false clears on each other. We will obviously need some other townie to vouch for some of this, but circulating information about us not being the killers could pay dividends later in the game.

Now, if we can just figure a clever way to get this Auro wagon stopped.

That's a good idea kmd.

I'm hoping at this point people who are catching up (Porkens, Starbuck) will come in and make a strong case on someone who is not me or Auro. The town is getting quite lazy here and Llama/ABR spam is perpetuating it.

Hopefully that's not necessary. Honestly, both the cases on us are weak. People are just not giving much effort. I can come in and do some more big posts looking at people's isos, but deflating my wagon is going reasonably well and I don't want to rock the boat too much.

If the time feels right, I'll step into that role. If I get run up, I'll claim tracker and see if we can out the town PRs

Question is what strategy I should take when I claim. Just claiming tracker could reveal the power roles to you guys based on who doesn't believe it. Could also lead to a quick hammer. Claiming something other than tracker could fish out info from Reck. VT seems like a death sentence.

I honestly will make a big post tomorrow and try to shake this wagon, but fighting the "eh whatever" attitude is proving tough.

I think there is a good possibility my wagon falls apart, but I was thinking I could post something like this now if we are still thinking about the claim stuff:

"I've been thinking about this a lot today. I do strongly think I'm being run up as a policy in a way because people want action in this game. We are 40 pages in and there is an air of apathy in the room. I believe there are people on my wagon who don't think I'm really that scummy, but just want an event to react to so they don't need to keep slogging through pages and pages of nonsense. I'm going to throw the offer out there to claim as a sacrifice to that action. I don't think it's the right play, but if people generally want that and it will lead to actual scum hunting, I'll do it this afternoon when I return to make my auro case."

Who was throwing off the strongest PR vibes to you all?

My gut says some of the more lurky folks. They'd have less incentive to engage if they knew they'd have a night action.

Not sure if it is likely I could draw some night actions. Maybe.

I'd be happy to use my track on UT.

Who do we think is least likely to draw a night action and should therefore do the kill?

My general thoughts on the day are that it was unfortunate Auro ate the lynch, but it's not the worst thing for us. Few people came out looking obvtown. Llama was probably most townie, and he has now replaced. I expect the page count to slow way down and become more manageable with those two gone.

Thoughts on where each of you plan to start your day for suspicions?

I am fine with the frequency and formatting of vote counts. It seems like the VOTE: and UNVOTE: tags maybe help automate that somehow? But I have not modded in forever and don't know how those work (nor what you do if people aren't using them?)

Cats are clear though! I enjoyed the scared cat image for Auto dying

The revelations are gutting us. I'm going to push the idea that ABR had either/or info on Auro and me. That might help make me confirmed town or as close as I can get to it.

I'm starting to wonder if AGar is maybe bullet proof since no one is claiming jailkeep or something of you farside. ABR dying buys us some time on that front hopefully. I'm going to do my best to get a Porkens lynch at least today to give you one more day, as long as that's a plausible outcome.

I was actually thinking Reck might be a better person to eliminate tonight. Yes, SB and Porkens are both basically confirmed town right now, but Reck kind of is as well and we are certain he has information.

Counterpoint would be if he has the information about trackers, that could help us if we have to claim. I suspect though that MT will be the mislynch tomorrow. Hopefully she has a PR and will eat the lynch if Reck can't save her.

I agree on a fresh track. Need to think for a minute on who that should be unless you have bright ideas.

I should carry out the kill. I can easily claim I tried to track reck to clear more townies if I need to (but I think it's unlikely I'll draw a night action).

How was camping?

I had a weird moment of freaking out this morning thinking that there is a serial killer in this game and how I hope that's true because we need the murder help. Doesn't jibe with the 4 anti town elements though

Is it possible there are some type of role modifiers that redirect NKs? Like if AGar was some kind of bulletproof but instead of stopping the kill, it just randomly goes elsewhere?

We will know more after tonight I suppose, but if that is true, it could be a useful tool for us to exploit.

Mostly confirmed

Porkens
Starbuck

Wide town reads

AGar
Gammagooey
xRECKONERx
Hoopla

Still town, but some suspicion

Blair
Untrod Tripod
Green Crayons

Likely to be pwned

Morning Tweet
CantLynchAPuppy

This is basically how I see the board right now. IAAU could be just on the cusp of tipping into that still town category. I'd need to go back and look at the play around his farside vote. Either way, we need 4 straight mislynches by my count to win? That's gonna be tough to land without getting caught trying to clean out Porkens and Starbuck too. I will definitely return to my MT attack today. Not sure where you want to put your focus.

If i get tracked to Reck, I'll say I tried to track him last night because I was skeptical of his information claim given ABR and Starbuck both had 50/50 Revelations. I know ABR did not, but I'm going to keep injecting that as an accepted fact to make myself confirmed town as much as possible.

I would love to see some in-fighting today among that "wide town read" category. Breaking up that group is going to be key to righting this ship I think.

Feel free to disagree with any of this. I am no mafia expert at this point.

I think we should use the word "purge". Sort of has the same vibe as lynch without the connotations.

I have kind of aligned myself with Agar, but if you think you can make a successful case on him, that's not a bad idea. Could be a wedge later in the game. And you are probably right about hoops. The later she gets in the game, the more people are likely to be skeptical

I think just a couple fairly engaged posts where you defend going v/la and then give some reads will make GC & Agar get off you. I'll defend you too since I have enough town cred to burn and we can't afford to lose you

I'm trying to get us back to MT, but people aren't engaging with me since you're the shiny object

Haha, this is amazing. Also the misdirected NKs do help us because we can't be traced to the kill. Max confusion. If we can figure out the pattern so we can bullet curve our shot to the intended target by targeting someone else, we will be even better off.

Why does everything have to be so hard! What the heck is reck's revelation!

So many questions.

Agar tracked me I think. Gamma and puppy have picked up on my crumbs probably. Dancing on the head of a pin over here.

You're going to get questioned first tomorrow on who you tracked and what their action was, you should probably track someone in the group of trackers. I don't think I've drawn a night action yet, so I'm totally fine. And I have been breadcrumbing my tracks, so if I have to claim that will be believable

Ideally we need our kill to deal with puppy tonight. He is holding back some info that could be problematic for us. I need to think some on whether there is a pattern to the redirect or not.

Ok, so what we know about tracks is:

Agar: n1 Hoopla goes nowhere, n2 someone (likely Gamma) goes ??? (likely Starbuck )
GC: n1 KMD goes to Puppy, n2 IIAU goes nowhere
KMD: n1 Puppy goes nowhere, n2 Hoopla goes nowhere
Gamma: n1 Starbuck goes nowhere, n2 UT goes nowhere
VPB: n1 UT goes nowhere, n2 reck (actually kill) goes nowhere

Since no one tracked me N1, I should likely change who I publicly say I tracked to avoid clearing UT. The downside of that is that I breadcrumbed it in the thread and will need to not use my breadcrumbs to back up my claim (unless I can find a suitable replacement crumb for my N1 track).

We definitely want you looking town. I'm considering trying to kill hoopla tonight to test a theory and see what happens if we try to make the same kill twice. Not sure what my reason for "tracking" hoopla would be though

Feel like I'm gonna have to claim here today. I suppose I need to claim tracker or I could eventually be outted, even though I haven't been tracked yet
Also tonight, I think we need to NK Vi to see if we can gain control of the kill action.

Updating my tracking info:

Agar: n1 Hoopla goes nowhere, n2 someone (likely Gamma) goes ??? (likely Starbuck ); n3 reck goes nowhere
GC: n1 KMD goes to Puppy, n2 IIAU goes nowhere; n3 reck goes nowhere
KMD: n1 Puppy goes nowhere, n2 Hoopla goes nowhere; n3 gamma visits IAAU
Gamma: n1 Starbuck goes nowhere, n2 UT goes nowhere; n3 IAAU goes nowhere
VPB: n1 UT goes nowhere, n2 reck goes nowhere; n3 kmd visits gamma

VP reasoning for tracks:

N1) UT seemed one of those middle of the road, slightly scummy folks. Possible buddy to Auro, wanted to see if I could catch him out.
N2) Reck flip-flopped a little on the farside/Porkens debate and generally was starting to feel less readable as the game went on. Worried he could have been a PR who I was reading scummy, or he was a killer. Turned out no result.
N3) kmd was the scummiest of the tracker claims, so I felt I should verify as the hidden tracker after the big outing.

Reposting accurate notes in one place:

Agar: n1 Hoopla goes nowhere, n2 Gamma visits UT; n3 reck goes nowhere
GC: n1 KMD goes to Puppy, n2 IIAU goes nowhere; n3 reck goes nowhere
KMD: n1 Puppy goes nowhere, n2 Hoopla goes nowhere; n3 gamma visits IAAU

OK, LAST POST WHERE I'M JUST TALKING TO MYSELF, I SWEAR

Updating my N2 track to IAAU because I found a reasonable breadcrumb in my first post of the day. SO:

Agar:
n1 Hoopla goes nowhere, n2 Gamma visits UT; n3 reck goes nowhere
GC:
n1 KMD goes to Puppy, n2 IIAU goes nowhere; n3 reck goes nowhere
KMD:
n1 Puppy goes nowhere, n2 Hoopla goes nowhere; n3 gamma visits IAAU
Gamma:
n1 Starbuck goes nowhere, n2 UT goes nowhere; n3 IAAU goes nowhere
VPB:
n1 UT goes nowhere, n2 IAAU goes nowhere; n3 kmd visits gamma

VP reasoning for tracks:

N1) UT seemed one of those middle of the road, slightly scummy folks. Possible buddy to Auro, wanted to see if I could catch him out.
N2) IAAU voted farside, but didn't give a strong reasoning. Said has to be "Porkens or farside" and kind of camped out there. Had links to Auro counterwagon D1.
N3) kmd was the scummiest of the tracker claims, so I felt I should verify as the hidden tracker after the big outing.

Breadcrumbs:

D2: "Before we end today, I want to know if UT is actually tracking this game or not." in post 1484
D3: hoopla asks can someone give info on IAAU. I say "ooo ooo, I'm a reporter!" in post 1547

Have not bread crumbed kmd today because of tracker madness Day 3.

If town was smart, they'd tell trackers to track VTs tonight to confirm they can't move. Then they'd know scum was in the trackers. We need to come up with a counter thought to that. Ninja I suppose is the obvious route.
