If we're just using the nominate as a gated lynch, what's to keep up from just lynching the nominated player every time?

Nothing

There's very little strategy involved with the current setup due to the tweaks made, which is unfortunate

I wanted to give it to Raya to see what he thinks early on

I don't even like to lynch at random when it's beneficial to do so, at 43% that would be actively detrimental

Of course, it's never truly random. Somebody has to tell us who was 'randomly' chosen, and then you have to account for 'what if that person is mafia'

To clarify, my stance is:

We are free to nominate whoever on day 1 and lynch someone they choose, and maybe do the same on day 2, but after that (or even on day 2) we should nominate who we want to lynch

Do we nominate a global town-read or do we nominate a global scum-read?

I don't think either of those should exist on day 1 before the first nomination

For other days, just go with the scum-read and then lynch them. Giving it to the townread adds extra variables where that person goes rogue and nominates whatever

Well... why would he go against you if they're scum? You're not in the nomination group right now, but Raya is.

As for not going after Dkkoba... I don't see them as the type of person who pushes hard when they're scum, they could just be watching you do your thing

I'm not drawing conclusions between the two slots but I scumread both of them, I think Nash/Elbirn has looked scummy all game, and Yukino has been on the sidelines all game and if she's scum she wouldn't have cared who died in the group yesterday (and no scum wouldn't just let it default to the mafia lynch because that looks bad on them, especially when you are pushing them to do so)
